1. People have mentioned most of my current favourite programmes: Family Guy American Dad Scrubs Green Wing (saw the 1st series god knows how long ago and been waiting for series 2 since then, but will class it as current as its back on friday) Also Curb Your Enthusiasm, not long since the lasts eries i was watching finished and watching some of the older ones that they're repeating currently
2. Cahill is a prick who seems to have modelled his game on the years when Robbie Savage was at his most annoying.
3. Correct decision and indeed the only decision anyone with even half a brain could have reached, but the disgrace is that she (or the people using her) have been allowed to piss away all the money and time on stupid cases like this. And it often rarely ends here as people invariably can appeal again and again to different people and for no real reason other than they didn't like the decision, not that they have any valid grounds for appeal.
4. Version i was used to was: Geordie had a pigeon, a pigeon, a pigeon Geordie had a pigeon, a pigeon he had He flew it by day and he flew it by night, And when it came back it was covered in sh!te
5. I do feel sorry for him after all he's been one of the greatest players to play for us (when he could have gone elsewhere) and i've loved his time here, but i feel even more sorry for me (and other toon fans) who've seen us win fuck all in decades!
6. He spent 90 mins basing decisions on which team were involved in the incident as he does in every game, the man is a disgrace. Whilst over 90 mins Liverpool did the job required and our defence made sure they got 3 goals people who say Riley didn't influcence the game have a strange view on what a refree is as he is the only person on that pitch who is involved in every incident. Many refs would have left it at just a pen and not a red, debating whether he was last man, and he certianly would have done that for Pool. Many refs would have sent off Cisse as he commited 2 yellow offences, making it 10 vs 10. Many refs would have dished out a few more yellows to Pool players instead of letting them get away with it because he's up the arse of the top teams. And many refs would have given Shearer the freekick on the edge of the box at 1-0 which lead to us going 2-0 down instead. The fact is even if Riley had an excellent game we could still have lost and maybe by even more, who knows, but he influcenced the game throughout with his decisions.
7. Agreed. I admit it wound me up at the time but that was mainly as you say because Riley bottled it. But at the end of the day, all this whining about Cisse and what a naughty boy he was is a bit daft IMO. 108699 Yeah, i've no doubt if i was at that end of the ground at the time i'd have been telling him to fuck off, but when i sa down i'd ackowledge he didn't do much at all, and i'd turn my anger towards calling Riley every name under the sun. Obviously if a player takes it too far and is bordering on genuine dangerous crowd incitement, or does something really offensive they can be punished but sometimes the fans overreact to embarassing levels.
8. I never had a problem with Cisse, the only problem i had with was the gutless prick that is Mike Riley. Under the rules Riley knew fine well he had to give him a second yellow and send him off but unlike with us when he literally couldn't wait to get a red out, because it was a pool player he did fick all because thats the kind of ref he is. But in terms of players actions, i'm generally of the opinion that football fans like to dish it out, but when players give any back (sometimes even just jokingly) the fans go crying to steward, police and newspapers and act like complete tarts.
9. Its stuff like you're mentioning that show we're crying out for a decent coaching set up at this club from top to bottom and that Fat Fred has to ensure this finally happens with his next appointment. Ameobi's concentration and awareness are at time unbelievable, he doesn't even know where the touch line is ffs and he is often caught unaware by passes to him and anything done quickly by team mates!
10. Agree about Shearer. Neither him nor Shola were playign well, and it was clear to everyone that Riley was in "anything shearer does is a foul mode" and Shola at least scored, so half time it had to be Dyer for Shearer. As for Riley, the man is a cnut plain and simple. He combined gross incompitence with outright cheating and the fact that fuck all will be done about and he can contiue to be a useless gutless, cheating little shitbag is depressing. Our defending most likely cost us the game (and not creating goals when we were in good positions) but Riley should just have put on a red shirt and had a group shag with half their team.
11. What should be worrying people is not just how disgraceful it is that a complete prick like Souness has cost us Bellamy as a lasting legacy to what a moronic and useless twat he really was as manager of this club, but also where we will be next season: Shearer retires, so even if Owen stays (and i think he will) we are left with ONE striker of premiership class thanks to Souness (and Fat Fred) Shola and Chopra aren't good enough and never will be Luque is likely to be leaving and if not could struggle Dyer is unproven up front for any length of time and is often injured Any new manager really needs to buy at least 2 genuine top class strikers and since Souness has pissed away loads of money that won't be easy when we also need (i would guess) a RB, LB, CB and possibly left winger to challenge/cover for Zog (especially if Luque has gone)
12. His mistake was shocking (and not out of character) and all the worse because we were only 2-1 down and up for it due to getting 1 back just before half time. I fancied us to really have a go second half, and get something, but he killed that dead in an instant. And since we're talking about useless cunts, Mike Riley is a joke, i fail to see how he can ever be in charge of premiership macthes as he's fucking imbecile.
13. If he does have a clause i'd be amazed if it were for anything like £4.5m, i can't imagine Blackburn would be as stupid as we were in putting a piss poor value like that anywhere near Bellamy. And i doubt Fat fred will be interested in having him back as it would be admitting that alongside Souness he completely and utterly fucked up in kicking Bellamy out having made sure his fee would be ludicrous as they rubbished him in the media and made it clear were were desperate to sell. With every performance he puts in for Blackburn and with every goal and assist its making Souness (and to a lesser extent Fred) look like an even bigger prick than you thought possible. Of course he only gets you 9 a season and i mean the team spirit, morale and dressing room at Blackburn must be worse than shit now that they have the single most disruptive player in history, i mean thats what Souness told us, it must be true!!!
14. It would take him four of five years to come good at this level anyway 107293 And not forgetting the fact he'd no doubt get a hamstring injury in his debut match for us and another one on his return!
15. Tbh if he became available i'd expect Fat Fred to have a shot at it, and then i'd fully expect Ruud to pick one of "europes top clubs" ahead of us!
16. That's not it though is it? They're only being given 3000 tickets and the ground would fill for this one anyway if the tickets were all NUFC. 106963 Thats the thing, normally the "they'll bring loads of fans" arguments makes sense, but not at all for this one. So they could have picked far better opposition in terms of a team to play against or as people have said NUFC versus an allstar or ex-toon XI.
17. You're forgetting Italian fans can do what they like, such as the monkey chants they've been aiming at the smogs black players, which i fully expect to also be ignored by uefa. Normally i'd want the smogs to lose, but then Roma are acting like a typical italian team and their fans like typical italian fans and they've got on my tits and so i'd be happy to see them dumped out on their arse. In the first half alone, aside from the diving and play acting, they've elbowed mendietta in the head, took a swing at another smog defender (yet then amazingly dived to the ground themselves) took a sly kick at Boateng and plnety more.
18. Don't know why the hell i put Mick Martin instead of Tommy Craig there!
19. Its never worried me as Mick Martin can just "take over" and Roeder can continue actually being in charge. The only problem is match day and Roeder can easilly prepare the team beforehand and give Martin explicit instructions as to what to do. And should changes be needed i'm sure he can get a message through to Martin!
20. You can usually rely on the toon to help people out of a bad run of scoring or similar! But i fancy us to beat them myself. On a similar note, its more than likely when we go to play the mackems they will still be without a single home win. Add in the fact that beating us is going to be very much the only thing they will have left to play for and that Ball will have them fired up and we (unlike most of the prem) will actually have a very difficult game against that lot. That said if we match their commitment and battle with them, then the massive gulf in class should see us home, but i'm expecting a very tough game against them.
21. I agree. He is equal to any keeper in the world for reactions and shot stopping, but he doesn't dominate his penalty box and defence in the way the very top handful of keepers in the world do. If you were being picky you could also say his record on saving penalites could be better! But he's easilly the best keeper i've seen at the toon and is one of the best in the game, just lacks that command of his area to be seen as the very best.
22. I'm one of the few people who think he will be here next season, unless we get a stupid offer for him that the board and/or new manager think is just too good to turn down, and even then i don't believe Fred wants to lose our "new Shearer" he loves this club having a genuine world class, big name striker as our spearhead. If Fred has allowed any clause in the contract that allows Owen to go for less than we paid for him then he's a moron and nobody could defend him. If its as low as some are claiming then he'd need shooting for it, but i don't think its the case.
23. We had the money then, it was the same as for Owen. Fred wanted a big striker to replace Shearer (or Bellamy in some peoples eyes ) and he had money ready for that. He took an honest shot at Rooney thinking nobody but us had that money back then, sadly manu did and were willing to move at once. Given the choice Rooney chose them.
24. I agree, and i base my opinions on performance alone, where somebody comes from or how much they cost mean fuck all to me. And isn't he scottish and not a geordie anyway?
25. We were looking good until the Ramage mistake, i was thinking keep this up, and we might get something. Then unfortunately we gave them a goal and after that they took over the game and we looked at times like Souness was back in charge of the back four! But it was manu at their best, and when they are they can rip most teams apart so having "got away" with a 2-0 defeat we don't need worry about it too much if we turn up against Liverpool and put in a good performance.
