1. It would be good to have his competitveness in midfield for the derby as their tactic will be to try and kick us about and dominate in the middle. I also want Clarkie to play soem part as it may be his last ever chance to play in a derby against the mackems and i think he'd come up with something on the day.
2. To be honest i think Souness probably did it!
3. To be honest anyone i've talked to only remembers the backpass i couldn't have told you who slipped off hand. And Taylor has had plenty of stick on here, there was a whole thread where some people were already writing him off as not going to be good enough for some reason. But Boom cost £8m and is an experienced international for France and people will therefor have certain standards expected of him consistently.
4. Who wrote "Greensleeves"??? 46828 Henry the 8th wasn't it? Or Ritchie Blackmore who wrote Sixteenth Century Greensleeves an entirley different song!
5. Aye, you can comment on what they put though, just the same. The jokes should be funny though 46773 Humourist!!!
6. I don't think it's too fair to label Ranieri a clown, thought he did a reasonable job at Chelsea. I do think Souness has lowered standards though, I reckon I'd cry for joy if we got O'Leary in. Just over 12 months ago that thought was not a pleasant one. 46713 Its true, he has made numerous managers now look like a good option! At the time we went for Allardyce and O'Leary i'd have been happy with either and that still stands if Fat Fred isn't going to go for europes top coaches. But ultimately i think he plans to let Souness see out this season if its not disasterous and then bring in Shearer, or if it is disasterous then probably sack him and bring in Shearer. Should it somehow go well then he'll be here for another season...and then it'll be Shearer!
7. Serenity was excellent, some cracking dialogue and one liners, action, fights and everything else you'd expect from Joss Whedon writing and directing. 46692 Can't wait for the sequel. 46706 Has that been confirmed as i would imagine they will be depending on a certain amount of money being made before they give it the go ahead...you never know they may even go back to the original TV series that started it all and make more episodes!
8. Yes, but then i will have to kill you to keep my secret identity!
9. That'll be Gosford Park I was thinking of, easy mistake to make... 46693 I'd have loved to watch "Gosforth Park" though!

11. A bit bloody waifish, don't you think! I thought Daniel Craig or Clive Owen would get it, wasn't fussed either way. They'd both be a big improvement on Brosnan - fecking cringeworthy. Clive Owen's been good in anything I've seen him in, but I haven't seen King Arthur. I can think of Gosforth Park and Closer off hand - both excellent performances. 46662 Aye he was class in Closer. Disagree about Brosnan though, I thought he was a good Bond. 46665 A film about Gosforth Park!!! I agree with Gemmill, whilst not a bond fan i watched the Brosnan ones, a couple were enjoyable and i thought he was perfect for the role and that they might as well have kept him.
12. True, but its not a shit racist joke thread. 46671 Can't have any limits if its a thread like this, or else you end up back to removing anything that somebody doesn't like or that offends somebody else!
13. I know what you mean, i've been a fan of Bramble from the start (which was quite lonely!) and you make a good point that Boumsong has looked pretty poor without Titus dominating alongside him. I'd love to see Titus and Taylor get a run together, but as i've said before when all three are fit it will come down to one simple issue: Souness paid £8m for Boom and nothing for Taylor, so its either Taylor dropped or shunted out to fullback. Or possibly he doesn't play Titus but i think he will.
14. The A-Team? 46569 Got to be worth giving Hanibal a shot, he is a master tactitian and planner!
15. That argument is always irrellivent. Its down to whther it was decided by players or officials. Its not luck for your keeper to eb outstanding at the job he's paid to do and earn you a draw, thats the point of having a keeper. And if you dominate for 90 mins but the other team takes their chance and you don't thats the way it works and they deserve the win. But if a ref/linesman (somebody employed to be neutral and not by either team) decides it, or plays a large part then that is bad luck/unfair, call it what you will. It doesn't matter if we played beyond shite for 90 mins and Wigan were like watching Brazil, if we deserved a penalty and had a goal wrongly disallowed then you've been cheated out of it. The same would apply if we were the better team and they got away with it. 46669 Thing is though, it was debatable whether we should have had a pen and Shearer fouled the defender for his goal, so I don't necessarily think we were cheated out of a result. 46675 I know what you mean there, but the whole luck argument gets on my tits as its about who takes their chances that deserve to win unless officials intervene. As for the "goal" they didn't give the foul and they let Wigan get away with at least two the same , one on Carr i remember being as blatant but the header missed, however it would have stood as a goal if on target. So i think since in that instance the ref was being consistent in applying no foul to both teams we were cheated out of a goal, and then there's the penalties, which i don't think were debtable at all!
16. Shepherd lacks the brains to see what is actually happenign in terms of football, progression, coaching and the like, he sees results and perhaps listens to crowd reaction. If we played the very worst 90 mins you have ever witnessed in your life and beat the mackems through an own goal of their keepers arse Fat Fred would be content, so we're better of hoping for a good performance if we win!
17. He wasn't forced, he chose it, but i agree that people can't knock him then and then say they'd do it themselves, which is why i wouldn't have done that. Firstly i'd have probably played Parker and Bowyer central as they are the tenacious players and Bowyer is so much better in the middle where he can make his runs past the attackers and get into the box. I'd have played Clark on the right, its not where he belongs but he's an intelligent, neat and tidy footballer who would have done a job there. Should Bowyer have got injured then i'd have brought a midfielder of the bench for a midfielder, its not that hard!

19. Surely, you cant be serious? I agree with this thread but to turn around the Kluivert bit and make it into a "bastard Souness kicked out Geordie legend Paddy" statement is going a bit far! For Paddy see : Lazy, fat shite. 46538 Kluivert who scored 1 in every 2 games he played and set up a few goals against Shola who scores about 1 in every season he plays...tough choice!
20. To be fair whoever we got is going to be shite as they're a prem referee!
21. So you think he brings something impressive to the role then? To be honest i didn't care who they got as i'm not a fan, i expected it to be Clive Owen. Mind you the only film i've really seen him in was King Arthur and in that he was dull, lifeless and had no charisma at all so i wouldn't have chosen him if i did care.
22. Whilst ironically i thought Faye had a reasonable game, the fact Souness started him ahead of Clark tells you many things about the manager and that he then put an out of form striker into midfield ahead of an in form midfielder tells you even more!
23. Our current out and out strikers stand at: Owen (risk of injury) Shearer (nearly finished and retiring) Shola (not close to good enough) Chopra (not good enough) It was clear when Bellamy and Kluivert were kicked out that we'd be lacking in proven strikers and we still are.
24. I think thats about right and fair. He didn't do much in his time here after that first part season, but he wanted to leave and thats his choice so i'm not goign to give him any stick. However i think he will get enough stick for it to be noticeable at the match.
25. There were a few strikers going on the cheap (or relatively) who could have strengthened us in that area where we are week and not left us with the depressing site of Shola and Shearer in tandem which does nothign for the team or either player concerned.
