I just wonder how much of a role Shearer is playing in this. Perhaps a few whispers in Owen's ears saying in a few weeks, he'll be in charge???

He has 6 games to turn it around, simple as that. If after 10 games played we're looking at 5 or 6 wins, then I think he deserves to at least see it through until May. If we lose any one of our next 5 games however, he'll be out. Simple as that, and he can have no complaints.

I still think if he was going to Liverpool, he would have signed this afternoon for them. If they'd agreed to buy him, then why has he bothered talking to us when he's already admitted he wants to sign for Liverpool? I'm 60% confident we'll sign him.

I agree. We've won a shoddy 14 matches out of our last 56 Premiership matches. That is f*cking abysmal no matter who's in charge, whether it be Robson or Souness.

I never read your post Renton. I read the first line referring to how we've only won 1 out of 14, and mearly stated it was just as bad in Robson's last 20 matches. Where's the problem?

We only won 4 out of Sir Bobby Robson's last 20 League matches in charge, so this rot has been going on WAY before Souness even took over.

Haven't been able to read all 20 pages, but if Liverpool were serious about signing him, why has Owen even bothered coming here? He told us last week Liverpool was his first choice, so if, after talks with Benitez this morning it was agreed he'd sign for them, I'm sure Shepherd & Souness wouldn't have been too agrieved had Owen and his advisors phoned them saying something like "Thanks for the offer, but he's going to Liverpool".

Even Souness isn't daft enough to think that just because we clapped them off in certain games that we're happy. Last Friday when he was being interviewed on SSN, that David Craig said, "The fans appear to be warming to you now", and Souness squirmed. He knows we're not happy, that's why he's trying to sign Owen and has signed Luque.

Agree. If he loses a match in the next 6 games, he'll be out. If he wins all 6 however, we're right up the table and then see what happens.

Exactly. For me, the fact he's willing to talk to us will mean it's unlikely for Real Madrid to let him go to Liverpool on the cheap.
