  1. Youth team members often go to stadiums with the first team squad, so there's no guarantee that these two players were actually in the named match day squad.
  2. Something like 160 votes won it for the Lib Dems last time, so I'll definitely be doing my part. Already voted Burnham for Mayor and Lib Dem for council. Postal vote because I'm not putting any faith in my awareness of what day is voting day.
  3. Yeah, I don't see the problem, really. He's one of the few non-absolutelyfucking-vital players that we could get decent money for. Plus he must be one of the better paid players?
  4. Any kind of Europe would be an excellent return on this season and with the games we have left, we've got a good shot at it. Plus, even though I don't get to go to games much (if at all) playing some random Latvian team is tonnes of fun.
  5. Emery plays the same suicidal high line, Howe stuck with it for too long as well. With the right keeper you can get away with it more often than not. Villa have Martinez and we have Pope so we can rely on them, not sure Vicario is the same profile of keeper though
  6. To be fair the Man Utd fans I know are pretty reasonable. They don't think £20m is a fair price but agree £2m is just them chancing their arm. But then I'm in Cheshire, so it's not like I'm having to explain it with crayons for lads from Longsight or Moss Side. Mind, even the lads I do know still have that sense of entitlement. I'm sure I said it on here before, but some were bemoaning how dominant Man City are and how that's made the league boring. I pointed out the irony with a "What? Like you lot in the 90s?" Unsurprisingly they're in favour of PSR, to stop 'mental spending'. 😂 They also agree with scrapping replays, because they've so many injuries. Like I said, that sense of entitlement remains.
  7. Still don't understand the Man Utd fans reaction to is holding a man to the terms in his contract? Apparently it's small time to state that they either pay an acceptable amount of compensation, or they wait until his gardening leave finishes.
  8. Aye she did. Finally. Despite my cunt of a neighbour's best efforts.
  9. The wife is more into cars than me to be honest. She was the one who advised I go for a 'better' brand for the BMW, arguing that while the car and the parts may cost more they wouldn't break as often. Well I spent north of £3k on fixing that and absolutely zero fixing the Kia, she can stick her car advice up her jacksie.
  10. I think you have to look at what people are voting for in the States. It's personality Vs policy. Trump isn't getting votes by preaching fiscal responsibility, or shrinking government, he's getting it with bombastic speeches appealing to the worst instincts of disenfranchised (and dare I say ill-informed) voters. The Tories don't have that kind of galvanising leader, they've rattled through PMs and cabinet ministers faster than my little'uns going through nappies. And making a bigger mess than when she shits all the way up her back. If Johnson had managed to retain the support of the party and the people then maybe, MAYBE, I'd agree. But right now they're a rudderless junk, in the midst of mutiny, on a becalmed sea. Labour have to remain seen as a well run alternative, seeming exceptional purely through a modicum of competence. They need a blow out to firmly establish themselves as serious leadership. The minute they start announcing grand plans they open themselves up to attacks from opportunistic populists from the right.
  11. Short reviews of cars I've owned Rover 200 - pile of shit that my mother had driven for years. I'm glad I crashed it. BMW 1 series - absolute fucking money pit, ended up getting £900 off a garage who just wanted the parts. Kia Ceed - perfectly fine hatchback, cheap to run, cheap to insure, 7 year warranty, would have kept it but salesman was a total cunt. VW Polo - yeah, fine I guess. Caring about cars must come in your 50s, I suppose?
