  1. Ok, I'll go through it one more time; The kind of player that will be available to get on loan, we can attract on a full time basis... As proven by our acquisition of Gayle(fringe player at moderate club), Hayden(young player at top club) and Ritchie (1st team player at lower club). So given we have proven we can get a particular player in a position, why would we loan?
  2. Ok, to sooth your nerves, we already have a team that is likely to be pushing for an automatic promotion spot. Signing Ritchie and Hayden and Hanley (to a lesser extent) shows we are still a big draw to players, with the first of those 2 swapping Premier League fringe for Championship 1st team. I don't think we can sign the likes of the Dutch player of the year but; We've a very healthy bank balance which will only get healthier when we sell Sissoko (and maybe others), We're the biggest team in that division We've a top class manager, We've a strong core to the side and that core is of lower-Premier League standard We've a single minded focus on getting promoted at the first time of asking We're a very attractive side for Championship starters and for Premier League bench warmers, plus players in leagues that will see us as a viable entrance to the Premier league, so we don't need to rely on loaning yet. also, you're yet to say what the virtue to loaning a player actually is. What's the actual benefit in it? The things you've mentioned could be achieved by permanently signing the kind of player that will be available to loan (see Hayden as proof)
  3. So, to be clear, you'd be happy if quality players were brought in on a short or long term basis? What's the benefit of loaning players vs buying them though?
  4. As has been said, loaning players doesn't really benefit a club like Newcastle. Say the player has a great season and is integral in our promotion, well the loaning club will take him back and we have to gamble on a replacement. If this young player grows into a better player because of first team games and working with Benitez, we have effectively wasted that effort and done a favour for the loaning club. We'd be better off buying a young player permanently safe in the knowledge we can still flog them on for reasonable sums.
  5. Is that Zlatan having a good old handclaplaugh at the end there?
  6. They'll be able to attract a couple of players from the bigger Premier League clubs on loan, Moyes will still have good links at both Everton and Man Utd despite the nature of his departures. I can see them finishing 15th-ish but doing so with a bit more time to spare than previous seasons. Burnley, Bournemouth, Hull and West Brom will struggle and I'm hoping Crystal Palace will reveal Pardew's failings too. I've no idea how Watford wil fair.
  7. I'm going to pivot table the bejeepers out of that.

  11. I found this interesting about Trump, by the Ghostwriter of "Art of the Deal"
  12. twitter ( I know) says £2.5m and Transfermarkt says £2.47m
  13. Gamez didn't play much, but that could simply be that he wasn't up to the standard to play more? Rather than not being fit enough, I'm sure I read somewhere that he was always on the training ground, so I don't think fitness is an issue. There's rumours we're after another fullback, England U19 I think.
  14. I wouldn't give it to any of them. I'd leave it fucking vacant until we've got a decent manager available.
  15. I'd expect him to leave, but it'd be nice to have some actual cover at fullback. Gamez, Janmaat, Mbabu, Haidara, Dummett. 2 of those 5 are often injured and the last is probably better off as a centre back.
  16. Pardew's not much better, I think his W% is about 39%? In comparison, Fernando Santos' top flight record is 58%, Deschamp's is 44%, and Joachim Low's is 48%
  17. If we'd stayed up and were building a side that could compete for top half I'd really try to keep him, but as it is, we need the Ritchie's and Gayles of the world, not the Gini Wijnaldum's. Good player, but no fight for us. To be honest I'd stick some money on him getting double figures.
