Call me cynical, but there's a Springsteen biopic coming out. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the distributors had thrown an amount to the Mail to drop shit like that into whatever story they can.
-
Sure, but you're a loose cannon.

He rarely got a run in the team and was often played out of what appears to be his best role/position. You look at how he played for Forest last season, and how he's now looking totally at home on the international stage. He's clearly an exceptional midfielder and I'd love him in a black and white shirt again. I wouldn't pay £60m for the privilege though, as I think there are other talents out there we could sign for less.
-
That's as maybe, but it'd be madness to spend that on him. MADNESS I tells ye

Yeah it's going to need something severe like Forest getting relegated, or the threat of another points substantial deduction. There's no way we're dropping £60m on buying him back. No way.

You shut your goddamn mouth.

Eddie Stuttering Mags v Is You Portugesehh Benfica

Benfica have a message board and Google translate has helped me see phrases like "We don't even breathe", "Horses vs. Ponies: A side-by-side difference in physical terms and speed.", "We have 11 bananas on the field. Plus 1 on the bench" and after Barnes scored his first"So easy. I smeared my face with shit." https://serbenfiquista.com/forum/geral/1/ldc-fl-3a-j-newcastle-united-fc-3-0-sl-benfica-21out-ter-20h00-*sport-tv-5*/72457.0 To summarise, they start with some confidence, though there are a few members who say that it's a tough ask. (They're quickly shouted down). Then there's a LOT of talk about how Rui Costa has fucked the club and needs ejecting asap. Their players are all short (?I dunno?) and the referee gave them nothing as he's corrupt. Gordon got praise, they say we were much more like the Premier League club than Chelsea was, they hate Bruno, but mostly it's blaming Rui Costa. -

@thebrokendoll always gets tickets, so he'll be there. -
It takes time to click, especially as part of a new unit. It's not like he's coming into a settled side and working out he fits, he's trying to work out how to operate with other players who're trying to work out how to gel themselves. If/when Gordon, Woltemade and Elanga work out when to time their runs, when to come close and when to pull wide, then our midfield and attacking fullbacks will be able to provide the chances. It's just going to take time.

Holy moly, two replies and not one of them called me a ponce or anything?! You lot are warming up to me, aren't you.

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER
The Fish replied to Sonatine's topic in Newcastle Forum
Thing is, Dyche isn't hugely different to NES, in terms of style. He goes long a little more, but he's a fan of an organised deep lying block, with pace on the counter and a targetman feeding off crosses or holding the ball up. The only players in that Forest side who'll suffer are the bypassed midfielders like Gibbs White and Anderson. -

I shouldn't laugh, but...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c4g3x7ek4ggo That's fucking criminal. -
I think they're trying to say that they saw Lauren Laverne mutter "Black and White bastard" and "You're not even from Newcastle"... but I have to admit I've not kept up with my Orcish.

The PL increased their central funding to lower league clubs to cover the costs of the Cat 2 and 3 academies, and subsequent achievements are compensated as well. So the argument is that the lower league clubs get reliable, consistent central funding and any high achieving players provide occasional top ups from sell-on clauses, or get International appearances or whatever. I know Brentford had closed their academy, dunno if it's re-opened or not. I think FIFA have a more punishing arrangement. Some agreement that the original club gets a set % of each transfer?

I like that we're trying to get the best young talent to the club, but at a fundamental level, I think the current EPPP rule is fucking the smaller clubs and fucking them hard.

That's ridiculously good value, in my opinion. Which makes me curious as to why. Put it this way, this is £5k more expensive... https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/167246696?utm_campaign=property-details&utm_content=buying&utm_medium=sharing&utm_source=copytoclipboard#/&channel=RES_BUY
