Still don't think he'd ever be accepted. Somehow the credit would go to someone else. No doubt someone much more attractive.
-
No chance of that. No one would back Tyrion against anyone. If he was up against Ramsey he'd still get no backing from the majority. He saved Kings Landing from Stannis and got shit flung at him. He's a grotesque to the masses and he'll never be able to change that. Which is a big part of his appeal.

The whole concept of a second team completely bemuses me. Some teams are better to watch than others but I never want other teams to do well. And that includes Leicester.
-
That perfectly expreses my feelings after reading that.

This is pretty much where I'm at. Everything is still a real struggle for us and I don't see it being better than that for the rest of this season. The begining of the game at Anfield showed that we're still likely to let in poor goals and the first half (in particular) on Saturday showed we are still a million miles away from being a free flowing attacking team. It's quite possible we will win on Saturday but it's equally as possible we won't. It just seems very unlikely to me that we will finish on a six match unbeaten run. I doubt there's many teams who have had six match unbeaten runs all season and we're one of the worst teams in the division.

Well apparently the next episode has the Tower Of Joy flashback scene in it so that might give an indication if we'll ever see him. He was one of the people there with Ned so he should be in that scene. If he's not then I doubt we'll ever see him on the show. If he's there and makes some sort of impact then that could be a sign they'll introduce him to the current time somewhere down the line. It wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't come into it at all mind.

Arguably a more natural replacement would be Aarons. Maybe it's time to try him. Either that or look to move Sissoko onto the left and bring Shelvey back in with a bit more freedom to attack. It will be really interesting if we can win on Saturday and the other two lose. That puts massive pressure on their midweek games.
-
Neither do I. Hence I'm convinced he's playing the Elder Brother. Which is good but also a shame because I'm very keen to see Howland Reed come into it.
-
Unles Mcshane is playing a massive game of bluff, he's definitely playing the Elder Brother and I'm sure that will lead to what you've put in the spoiler.
-
I agree with Fish. If we win on Saturday and those two lose and again midweek I'll be confident we'll stay up. Not before.

I'm certain he at least doesn't know how Shireen died. If he did he'd surely be ganning mental with Mel. Again he probably suspects and I think he suspected what Stannis planned which is why he desperately wanted to take her with him back to Castle Black. That may go some way to explaining his lack of emotion with regards to Stannis. Although I think he'd be going mental with Mel if he knew/thought she'd burned her alive. I agree they need to give the audience some justification for him going to Mel. It may be that he gives that justification to Jon himself. I have a feeling some of the Northern houses will betray Ramsey when he thinks he has them on his side. Maybe the Umbers and the Manderleys. Maybe even the Karstarks although that's less likely.

He's on his way out I reckon. He's not got the brains to keep going now his dads gone.

Well I think they both feel Stannis is dead but I'm not sure how either of them could know for sure. The viewers don't know for sure since they cut away when Brienne's stroke came down. It's possible she spared him but given the Boltons appear to know he's dead it seems unlikely. But as I say, they have little to no chance of finding him either way. I get what you're saying about Jon being Stannis replacement but I'm just not convinced at this stage, that it would provide the motivation to seek out magic to revive him. My point about the widlings destroying the watch is more about the need for them against the Others. I don't think Davos has any particular love for the watch so that he would want to see them survive over the wildlings. I just think he realises what's coming and knows that they need them both to defend Westeros against it.
-
Aye he's brilliant in the Guard. It's quite a good accent but I just don't understand where it fits with the others.
-
I see Doris Roberts (the mother out of Everybody Loves Raymond) died last week too.
-
Not even sure if his geordie mate (not sure about that accent since he's supposed to be from kings landing in the south) even knows Stannis is dead. It's not been shown in the show that he knows this (Melisandre ditched him before Brienne killed him) and it hasn't happened in the books. Also the wall is about 600 miles from where he died and there's a massive amount of snow, so it would be incredibly difficult for them to find Stannis' body even assuming that the Boltons don't have it with his head on a spike. Add to that, she didn't believe she had the power to resurect him in the first place so I don't think it's at all surprising they haven't gone out after Stannis. The only bit I don't really get is why Davos feels so strongly about Jon to bother with him. Mel saw him in the flames but Davos doesn't believe in that. Yes he respects him but that doesn't really seem like justification to try and bring him back from the dead more than anyone else. The only thing I can come up with is he thinks Jon is the only way to keep the wildlings from destroying the watch which as Fish points out, is something they could do fairly easily now they're south of the wall.
-
Why's that? To make my own view clear (well clearer) I'm not saying that I necessarily see a happy ending with Jon and Denerys defeating all the bad guys and one of them sitting on the Iron Throne. I just think they won't die before the finale. I don't really think Tyrion will either but I think it's more likely to be him than the other two because of those two fitting the Ice and Fire profile and Tyrion (as far as we know at least) not.
-
They do know what his end game is but probably not exactly how he's going to get there (pretty sure he doesn't know that himself yet). As fish says they've killed a number of characters who haven't been killed in the books and not introduced others yet. I think it's unlikely we'll see those charaters introduced now (other than the ones we know are coming into this season such are Randall Tarly and the elder brother) while I think it's more likely that the ones who have been killed off in the show will also die in the books. You would certainly think they'll get to the end before the books do given they're only planning another couple of seasons and it's taking about five years per book. I suppose that could mean that they go for a completely different ending but I doubt it.

I've actually felt that Anita was always better suited to play fullback (didn't he play there quite a bit before he came here) but again I agree with your point. I can kind of take CT's point about forwards as better attackers take pressure off your defence. But that doesn't work if your defence is awful which ours has been. In those cases it tends to have the opposite effect with the defence putting increased pressure on the attackers and the attackers getting less of the ball because of an inability to recover and use possession.
-
Anita has been defending better than Janmaat has managed all season mind. Not that it changes your point but I thought I'd give big Vurn some appreciation since I've been pretty scathing of his midfield play.
-
IMO there's no chance of Dragon Tits, Tyrion or Jon Snow being killed off before we get very near the end of the story. Tyrion being the most likely to die at some point.
-
Sunderland still look hard to beat. You can say Norwich looked canny against Arsenal and Sunderland didn't look that good against Stoke but I would also say that the week before they looked more likely to beat Arsenal than the other way round. I don't think it's all impossible that Sunderland beat Everton and Watford. In which case we need Chelsea to be beat them to have any hope of it being in our hands come the Spurs game. And if Saturday showed me anything, it's that we're not going to be comfortable against anyone this season. I'm not confident we'll beat Villa let alone Spurs. And if we do beat Villa I'm not sure I can handle the last day nerves when those tramps could relegate us. I fucking hate these cunts for giving us a chance now. It was much easier to accept relegation as a formality after the Southampton game than it is deal with these scenarios now.
-
Possibly. There's also possibly an element of trimming the amount of characters there is as we move towards a conclusion to the story. There's going to come a point where most of the characters who remain need to move towards one place. They can't keep jumping between locations and characters if it's ever going to be complete. With regards to Jon, do we think it was as simple as Mel bringing him back or was there more too it? Ghost was obviously there at the time so was there some involvement there or was it just a nod by the producers to one of the fans theories?

Shearer was never a manager though to be fair to him. You'd expect him to struggle more than someone of Rafa's track record. Not that I think HF is using the stats to have a go at Shearer. It's very interesting though that Rafa should be at the top of that last list when we've struggled on the goal scoring front for most of the last few seasons and Benitez is considered to be a fairly defensive manager. He's so clearly miles ahead of all but the obvious two other managers on that list that it just makes our other managerial apointments laughable.
