  1. A magazine article I read completely spoilled Fight Club for me. I still appreciate it but ending of it was such a major thing that I don't think there's anyway you can appreciate the film fully knowing the crucial part. I don't think there was anything spoiling in what I posted about Mr Robot mind. Having said that I did quickly look away from Ant's post until I watched the episode because I didn't want to spoil anything. Anyway I watched the first two episodes of Blunt Talk and I enjoyed them. I thought Patrick Stewart and Adrian Scarborough were both excellent in it.
  2. Aye I just read about that. Apparently they're looking to make it into a film with Seth Rogan and James Franco and Tommy Wiseau.
  3. Their signings weren't work done in this window though if we are considering how well the club has done.
  4. You really should watch it Gloomy. Reading those lines really doesn't do justice to how utterly brilliant it is to see them being delivered by some of the worst actors ever. I was reading up on it yesterday and it seems he's tried to claim, since its release and people found it hilarious, that it's meant to be some kind of black comedy. The fact that he's talking such shite about it makes it all the more brilliant to me.
  5. There can't be much doubt that we've moved forward this window. We've sold/released Jonas, Raylor, Campbell, Abeid and Keman. Those are at best backup and at worst players who haven't or shouldn't have been anywhere near the first team squad. We've brought in four players for the starting eleven with at least two of them already looking like they are settling in well and a promising young player for the development squad. You can question whether we have done enough to really push on towards the top eight and I'd say probably not but then again I don't think it's ever good trying to bring in too much at once (something I think Watford and Villa might find). There have also been signs that the club is starting to improve things away from the pitch too. The communications certainly have seen a marked improvement. The only black spot is the legal action against the Magpie shirt which seems utterly pathetic.
  6. I thought the compensation thing was why Sammy signed a new contract but then loaning him to Cardiff made no sense so fuck knows what this is all about. He said the other day that McClaren had basically told him they didn't fancy him.
  7. Aye. Daft decision not to have him bat before Billings at that stage of the game. Could have maybe added an extra twenty runs to our score.
  8. It's completely pathetic, although not at all surprising, that they would try and do this.
  9. I was just reading through some of the quotes on IMDB and I don't think it's comes across how bad the writing is until you see and hear it on film.
  10. Enjoyed the 20:20 yesterday. Excellent knocks from Morgan and Ali and great bowling at the death by Willey and Stokes.
  11. The Room. Without doubt the most utterly awful film I've ever seen. I loved it. I think it's supposed to be a drama but it has the look of some sort of soft core porn. There are a number of utterly hilarious sex scenes in (with the main guy always seeming to giggle during it and inexplicably getting a rose involved in the act), sub plots that go absolutely nowhere and are dispensed with as if they never happened and some of the worst dialouge ever. The acting is the absolute star though. I went to my ten year olds school play in July and every single one of those kids had more talent than all of these people who were paid to make this. It's absolutely incredible that someone gave the director/star the go ahead to make this. I can only assume he's a wealthy guy and financed it himself but I'm glad he did because it's utterly brilliant.
  12. Just caught up to date with it. Surely the pixies song had to have been put in there tongue in cheek. I do enjoy it but I must admit I find it difficult to follow what it is they're trying to do Evil Corp and I can't see really how they're going to keep going after the revelation (well it was obvious anyway wasn't it?) of the last episode.
  13. I'd happily let Williamson go even without anyone coming in. Colo, Mbemba, Taylor, Lascelles and Dummett should all be ahead of him in the pecking order and that should do us until January at least. I'm not a fan of Dummett but we would be down to playing a midfielder at leftback if he went and Haidara got injured and that's not acceptable.
  14. I think you're spot on there Tom. If I'm honest I can see why a red was given the way the game is these days but I don't think it should have been. The reputation he'd got himself with those first two booking and the ridiculous scream by Cocquelin turn the card from yellow to red imo. But I don't really see what anyone thinks Mitro should have done difrerently. He was looking at the ball coming down and just put his foot out for it. It was in no way overly forceful and there was no intent there. But he did catch him a bit high. These things can happen in a game and judging by the other sendings off last weekend there's going to be a lot more sendings off this season that are for next to nothing. The game has changed to the point that a card comes out for every misstimed challenge. It seems to have been forgotten that you can foul someone and it not be worth a card (unless you play for one of the big four or the wallpushers).
  15. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-transfers-crystal-palace-9966210 It's from Ryder so don't get too excited!
  16. Can't imagine many Spurs fans would consider Friedel a great signing but I get your point. You only have to look at who the tramps most highly regarded players are in the premiership era to tell you everything you need to know about. Phillips and Quinn!
  17. Dummett linked with an £8m move to Palace. Yes folks that EIGHT MILLION POUNDS STERLING FOR PAUL DUMMETT!!!
  18. Beardsley and Shearer were great players. Anita will never be a great player. Hopefully he can continue his form and be a decent player.
  19. Straight Outta Compton. Enjoyed it. Ice Cubes youngun is his double.
  20. He's had a good start to the season. I hope he can keep it up and prove me wrong.
  21. True Story. Decent altough I'm not sure James Franco was the best choice to play Chris Longo. I don't think he was particularly believable. He just seemed like a nice guy all thr way through.
  22. I thought City over relied on Silva last season and if he wasn't on song then they always seemed to struggle. Navas is a decent player but not someone who's really going to run a game. With Sterling and De Bruyne in there as well they'll be much better balanced and much stronger.
  23. Aye it works for that too. It really is the multi purpose hobby!
  24. Bath would be all kinds of wrong. I find that many mornings I need one just wake me up properly.
