  1. I'm nearly finished the third book now and I would recommend reading the first two. There's not a great deal that happens in them that's massively different to the show so far but it's cleared up some things for me and I'm enjoying re watching the series again more after reading them.
  2. Stick toon on the end of that and it's a salute to Ashley too!
  3. Don't really think there was any evidence of that last season. When he played everyone was happy about it.
  4. We have to accept that as long as we are going to be run the way we are we will sell our best players (regardless of whether this rumor is true) because we won't be able to cement a place in the top four so it's understandable that good players will want to play for the best teams. If we re invest the money (seems something between twenty and twentyfive million is being talked about) it would certainly benefit us more than having Cabaye with his head not in the game like he was last season. That said he's a really good player who I'd rather we were able to keep a hold of.
  5. Great news this. Good stance by the club and honourable by the player. Can't see why anyone wouldn't see this as massively positive.
  6. I think Carrol would love to come back here but I struggle to believe that we will shell out the transfer fee and his wages (especially as he's out of action for a few month). I also struggle to see how we can get the best from him. We don't have anyone who can cross a ball (Debuchy may be the execption but playing at fullback he's not going to get the number in we would need) and with a strikers and centrebacks our apparent priority this summer I can't see that changing. Liverpool could never utiliise him correctly and our formation is more like theirs than the formaiton we had before we sold Carrol.
  7. Ah if only I had any artistic flair I'd be sorted I'm actually really enjoying the books but as with everything else I've read, I've prefered the watching to the reading.
  8. Amalfitano worked out so well so it's logical we go down thta route again!
  9. I am man I'm about a third of the way through A Clash Of Kings now. But you don't get pictures of neked birds in the book the books!
  10. Another cracking episode. Very different from last weeks though of course. Lots of good Tyrion banter and setting up to go back to the main part of the story. It's going to be a long wait for season 4 now though!
  11. I think in the past Tiote has tried to take responsibility for the ball and held onto it rather than just dump it off on someone else. It's been a big positive from him for me and I can't really remember him changing that approach this last season. I think his problems have been trying to take on too much attacking responsibility when Cabaye's been missing and as HF point's out, his agression has been curbed. For me, if you want him to be effective you have to let him play his game but that will inevitably result in suspensions.
  12. The wait will kill me I think. Although I'm through the first book now (which has helped me work out who Denis Penis is so that alone made it worth reading) and thinking as long as the Wire doesn't distract me too much, I'll have them finished well before the new season starts.
  13. Maybe he just wants to get his money out then he'll let us spend everything we rake in after that's done! We could be champions again come 2030!
  14. Fair enough, I wouldn't argue with that. Winning is nothing more than a means of keeping the tv revenue rolling in to them so survival in the richest league in the world is all they need.
  15. That would have had us level with Stoke in 13th. Not at all far away from the top ten finish they are saying they're after (a win and a draw away in fact!).
  16. Fuck me, if he averaged 15 goals a season what would be our incentive for letting him go! Hopefully that guy is in a position of power at Villa. If so we should see if he'll give us £10m for him!
  17. If I were Ben Arfa or Cabaye I'd be looking for a move like. They are too good to be at a team positioning themselves to be competing with the likes of Fulham, West Brom and West Ham. Unless we can convince them were wanting to challenge the European places I think they'd have every right to be looking to move to another club who are. It's all too reminiscent of the position we were in the the mid eighties when the club let Waddle, Beardsley and Gazza go without much fight. It's a fairly depressing state of affairs that when you get crowds that are only bettered by Manure and Arsenal, we are still vunerable to the likes of Liverpool & Spurs coming in and taking our best players. But those clubs have ambitions that we only showed with our previous owners. It's a shame they sold out to Ashley rather than waiting for someone who wanted to have a successful football team.
  18. I fear you may be right. We keep hearing how they've learned from their mistakes (both owner and management) yet we see the same ones made time and time again. It's all just lip service. The fact is they're happy with what they're doing so they keep on doing it!
  19. Fuck me they really know how to make us dream don't they! I'm glad they've made this decision early like. The worst thing that could have happened was that this dragged out over the summer and whoever ended up in charge had no time to plan for the season. Last preseason was a fuck up on pretty much all counts and set the tone for the season so all we can do now is hope this time we get it right.
  20. Aye, we don't want any of that like!
  21. I'd dispute a lot of that order mind. Osha should be top ten (looked amazing with her kit off!) and Margaery would be probably be third for my money!
  22. Thought it was a good ep although could have done with a bit more action. Certainly Denyres getting her kit off for the first time in ages was a bonus though!
