Unless it's saying we're going to sign Rosicky from Arsenal? Is he on a free or something?

Would the sponsors be worried about him training in non branded gear? Does that form part of sponsorship these days? I'm sure he could train with no top on at all if it's a problem. It's not likely to be cold in Portugal! If it's the club playing hardball I think it's highly unlikely to work in this age of player power.

Who's making decisions like that within the club? I can't see why it benefits the club not to let him travel even if he can't play (which I'm not sure would be the case anyway).

The worry is that with all around us strengthening while all we've done is weaken our squad (however slightly), we might stay on zero for quite a while to come!

I think Bent would be a decent signing but I do wonder how him and Cisse would combine. Hopefully signing him would be along with signing another striker so who would complement both of them. Cant say i'm that hopefull of that happening like!

I'd be quite happy to see us sign Bent for a reasonable fee as long as we brought someone else in too.

You'd think that given my newness to the sport that it would be the shorter versions that I would find more appealing. But it's definitely the tests that I prefer despite the fact that it's nigh on impossible to see much of it during the week.

Simpson, Williamson, and even Shola only really played until we signed Debuchy, Mbiwa, Haidara and Goufrran. I would suggest that only Perch's ability to cover in midfield will missed to any extent (and even then he should really have never been played). I'm not saying I'm happy with the state of the squad that minute and don't think we need two or three more players capable of slotting straight into the team as well as a few more to bolster the squad. But I'm not going to lose any sleep over us getting rid of dross that most of us were horrified to ever see on the pitch. The clubs that they're going to tell you all you need to know about them!

Still can't get past Alligator as the best National album. It's the only one where they mix it up with some more faster pace ones like Abel and Mr November. But I love them all tbf. For some reason this time around Kurt Vile has just clicked with me. Previously I probably would have had the same opinion as your mrs.

Awesome this like. Always hated cricket til about three years ago, now I can't get enough. There's fuck all work going to be done thursday and Friday again. 21 and Over. Enjoyable enough colledge kids out on the lash hi jinx. Of course it's been done a million times before and better but still worth a watch. The lead reminded me a lot of a yong Vince Vaughan and I'm still not sure whether that annoyed me or I quite liked him.

Confidence for the season just drains from you more and more every day doesn't it!

I really like the Kurt Vile album. I've never got into anything else of his but I think it's really perfect for the summer. The Nic Cave and Suede albums are really good too. The National, Atoms For Peace, John Grant and Bonobo are all slightly disappointing while all still being good.

We really should have players of a higher standard than Perch in and around our first team so he shouldn't be a miss at all. He should never play in defence for us as he's pretty horrible there really so should only ever be a back up in midfield (and Bigi has a lot more potential to cover that role than him). But I agree, our squad is paper thin and relying on unproven youngsters again as cover would be a massive gamble again. I would also say that selling him for less than we paid for him when he's got himself three years of premiership experience now seems very odd.

After that abortion of a purple, green and orange away strip and the home one with the thick round neck and shield on the back, I lost all interest in our stips. As long as they're not a complete fuck up that make us any more of a laughing stock, I couldn't care less.

We signed Ba & Cabaye about this time two year ago. Not too much different than if they come in a couple of weeks from now. Of course the earlier any new players are integrated into the group the better but we're not yet back in training so they won't be missing anything.
