  1. I think this is a key point actually. I've felt for the past two seasons that AC was very much part of this team spirit (along with Nolan and Barton) and I worry that this could seriously damage that now.
  2. No, you get a grip. We'll lose that much if we go down as we might well do now we've lost our main goal threat. £35m, no doubt embezzled by an owner who doesn't have a history of sanctioning big money deals. £35m, that can't be reinvested in replacing him for the remaining games in which to save our season. I'm stunned that anyone out there - be they Toon fan or not - thinks this is a good deal. This was an excellent deal up until the point of the window closing. Selling that player for any amount and not replacing him makes this potentially be a suicidal deal. This will be the season of what ifs. I'm sure Liverpool thought selling Torres (who also put in a transder request and did want to leave) for £50m without a replacement was a great deal too. Oh no wait, they did hang on until they had a replacement to sanction the deal and I'm pretty sure Torres would still be with them now if AC was still here.
  3. The thing is though, the £35m only matters to Ashley not the club or us as fans. If we'd sold someone for that much under Shepherd you could be confident that the money would be re invested in the squad (and say two ten milion pound players and a fifteen million could make a massive difference to the team) but when has the fat cunt ever re investested before? So why should we expect him to now? At the end of the day Ashley has recouped some of the money he's spent previously so I suppose that might make the day he eventually fucks off a bit closer so there's a little bit of positivity for you. Oh and as for Kenny turning Carrol's head? Fuck off, the club forced him to put a transfer request in plain and simple. Even that cunt Redknapp could see that!
  4. i still don't get why the fuck we weren't in for robbie keane. Because he's slow, shit, probably expensive (wage-wise) and old, not to mention the club wasn't expecting a bid of the magnitude it took to get them to sell Carroll - plus I wouldn't give the club credit enough to think that far ahead. I suspect they were expecting a bit for quite a while, probably encouraging it in fact.
  5. Great news if you mike ashley but the money he's not going to spend does us no fucking good whatsoever!
  6. I doubt we'll sign anyone but at best it will be the likes of Heskey or Carlton Cole
  7. The size of the fee is completely irrelevant given that a. it won't all be in one go b. the fat cunt won't invest it all and c. we're fucked for the rest of the season now because we won't have time to get a replacement. Add to that the message this sends with our number 9 who's also a life long supporter happily moving on to a club that's been in fucking dissaray this season and were as likely to finish below us as they were above (nailled on above now like). I also find it amazing how many of us called this right from the start. Buy no one and sell one of our stars just before the window shuts so the fat cunt doesn't have to spend the money. Fucking laughing stock yet again. Btw the club statement says they reluctantly accepted his request. FUCK OFF. They would have been desperate for him to do it and there's no way he would have if they'd just told the bin dippers to do one from the start!
  8. I agree totally about Up In The Air, nothing special at all. Didn't think much of 127 Hours really. Glad I saw it but wouldn't watch it again. Felt quite sick at the end like. True Grit. I've seen the original but really can't remember it at all so I can't compare it but I really enjoyed this. It's missing the Coen's usual quirks but it's a just a really good western which are obviously rare these days. Thoroughly enjoyed Bridges as always.
  9. Tuncay could quite possibly form a much better partnership with Gyan than Bent so while he's a poorer player he might actually improve them.
  10. They might be saying it's about the work he has to put in but with all of these things coming out it seems obvious that there's a bit more to it than that!
  11. Could the thinking not be Ben Arfa on the right?
  12. Can you? I can't like. I can remember Wadsworth getting some stick over his 'talent'-spotting skills though. Anyway, I think this is good news but I'm not that excited by it as it's not really going to change that much at the club. I dont particularly have the desire to search for it but im sure there were a few negative posts. ALL the posts about Wandsworth were negative. SBR rated him very highly as well remember Wasn't there a lot of talk on here at when we started to struggle under Robson that he needed a better/more experienced assistant? Wadsworth was defnitely much more heavily critiscised though.
  13. Don't know how long he has left on his contract but I would have thought if Caroll's worth upwards of thirty million, a player who has proven himself as a premiership goal scorer year after year with very average (at best) teams, then £18m is a steal.
  14. Yeh it's a great celebration - a proper piss take and sometimes that's applicable - like when scoring past the mackems or putting the third past West Ham before half time, Anyway 10 goals from Nolan is exceptional - we've been crying out for a goal scoring midfielder for years but I'm not sure he fits that category due to the manner in which he gets his goals - cheeky. Hilarious at Wigan when we started chanting 'Lets all do the Nolan' 5000 toon fans doing the Funky chicken! I hope they did that today! They did, apparently. Aye we did. The unwashed weren't pleased at all! Colo was fucking immense, he's definitely the best centre half we've had since Woodgate and a lot more reliable than he's ever been in his career in terms of playing games.
  15. Agree entirely. Smith is garbage and would most likely get sent off and Gutherie is a pathetic excuse for a premiership footballer.
  16. Unfortunately as long as the fat cunts in charge we're not going to see a raft of multi milion pound players signed. We have to accept that and on that basis he would be a decent signing for the money. By the sounds of it he can certainly deliver a cross which given Caroll's strength in the air that's just what we need. And as others have said, anyone who keeps Smith and Guthrie (and Routledge after Saturdays debacle) is very welcome.
  17. I agree. As soon as I saw it I thought fuck me he's off here (as well as what the fuck was he even in the squad for this game!) but when you see it again he's nowhere near the man and actually brings his leg back after the lunge to make the ball. If he was near the man it would have been dangerous but he was so far away that it wasn't at all. Not a sending off for me.
  18. Routledge, Perch and Smith should never play again tbh.
  19. Fucking gash this like. For all Jonas has been shite recently we are a much better side when he's in the team and we have some balance. Get smith off and Ferguson on and start playing some fucking football.
  20. This tbh. Although I did think early on he looked a bit promising but just trying too hard and that never helps a player. Will be a shame if he's out tomorrow after wednesday as it would be a real oppertunity for him to build some confidence.
  21. I'd love to be able to say with a straight face that these sort of films are my favourites but I just can't. I respect and enjoy them but could never love them in the same way as The Maltese Falcon, Star Wars and The Good The Bad And The Ugly.
  22. He would have wanted shooting if he hadn't made the substitutions he made last night they were so obvious in the circumstances.
  23. Why are people wanting right sided players to replace Jonas? Surely a left winger would make more sense?
