Aye I was going to mention four get too it's another of my favourites. I forgot The Naked And Famous, !!!, Miami Horror and Tesla Boy too. But I wouldn't really expect to agree completely with either of those magazines.

Did you see her at the Cluny? No I missed that she was there, would have liked to have seen her. Other big misses on those lists for men are Delorean, Bononbo, Dom, Charlote Gainsbourg, Panther Du Prince, Beach House Jonsi, The Fall and Future Islands

No Anais Mitchell on either list is a crying shame as its comfortably top three for me. Really like John Grant though.

To me it seems that most people fall into one of two camps with Taylor. Those who love him and think he's going to end up captaining England and those who can't stand him and think he's massively overrated and not a good player at all. Personally I'm very much inbetween those two points of view. I think he is at the minute a good premiership defender but certainly not up there with the very best. I don't think he has any of Coloccini's class and I'm pretty sure he'll never reach the standards Campbell reached in his prime. But I think he can improve to be a very solid player and if he reaches his potential, not far away from the national team (based on the likes of Lescott and Jagielka making the last starting eleven). I don't think we should allow him to hold us to ransom over a new deal because he isn't that good but I'd certainly be disapointed to see him go for a pittance (given his age would we still be due something for him if he stayed til the end of his contract?) and I'm not concerned about having to play a partnership of him and Sol on Sunday.
-
Well he's blatently wrong about attendances being at an all time low, they've always had shite support. The problem is they haven't actually realized they are a small club no bigger than a club like Coventry or Charlton. They are nothing but they've had an owner that has bankrolled them to far beyond their true standing.
-
I hear that said but I don't see much product at all from his dead balls. I think he has a better dig from freekicks than Barton but his delivery into the box is poor. We've seen it every time he plays there though, we only have Jonas as an outlet and the opposition know that and just mark him out of the game while Guthrie comes inside making everything condensed in th middle.

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched
David Kelly replied to Jimbo's topic in General Chat
Yeah I felt exactly the same about it. Unstoppable - Pretty good disater film, cross between Towering Inferno and Speed 7.5/10 Kind Hearts And Coronets - The only Ealing film that I've seen that I thoroughly enjoyed 8/10 Death At A Funeral - A few laughs 5.5/10 -
Kanye West's new one. Pretty good on first listen.

Forgot about him! Him and Campbell would be a good partnership. Good idea, I would be willing to give Kadar a go under Campbell. I would too but I'd prefer to use Taylor while he's still here. Both him and Campbell probably won't next season like so we need to be preparing for that.
-
I saw nowt between the two of them like. West Ham might as well start preparing for the championship now. They are truely awful.
-
Because I just wanted to correct you. Everything you've posted in this thread has been irrelevant to point that Guthrie is shite on the right and we must stop using him there if we want to win games this season.
-
What did I miss from Williamson? Why will he get a ban?
-
Guthrie is better than Geremi and plumb is spelt plum, you plum Sorry is wanker better spelling for you? Guthrie cannot play on the wing and doesn't even pretend to try. Geremi was poor there but that's still better than Guthrie's lack of attempt to play there. And again, that's irrelevant as he doesn't play for us any more. Much as Ruel Fox doesn't who was also better as a right winger than Guthrie.
-
Doesn't work hard on the right though. When Barton plays there he comes inside a lot but works hard to get back out.. Gutherie comes inside and makes no effort at all to get back out wide.
-
And he's not better than Geremi anyway!
-
Well it may have passed you by but Geremi no longer plays for the club and Smith's never been played there. Do you have a point here you plumb?
-
Is that relevant?
-
Day to forget. The whole back four and midfield were absolutely hopeless. Colo should be fined for that like too, just as stupid as Barton!
-
I'm not a Gutherie fan, far from it, I was oppose to his signing as I thought it was the signing of this type of player for the club was a step backwards and as far as I'm concerned I've been proved right. As it's transpired he's proved an ok squad player and in the second half of last season he was a key player in the middle of the park. That last bit is key though as for the first half of last year he was fucking gash in the championship on the right of midfield. In the premier league he's not even that good. He's a fucking liability! He won't even try to provide any width and that leaves us massively unbalanced and Simpson with no support whatsoever. I know Routledge has been massively disapointing this season but at least he balances the team out and there's a hope he might produce something. I have no hope at all in Guthrie and in fact my spirits sink everytime I see his name on the teamsheet. We won't win a game this season with him on the right and Hughton has to end it now!
-
I don't buy into the theory he's developed massively since he left us either. He's a good, honest but ultimately limited player. CM is his best position like, not wide in a midfield 4 or an attacking 3. 100% He's decent, but he hasn't got the pace to be absolute top class. For instance I wouldn't put him anywhere near the class of Waddle or John Barnes. I still say £12m seemed a good price at the time, I think that's all he's worth. Did he try to skin Predator into the box and failed miserably? Not an international imo, but you could say that about most of the England team last night. Capello's survival after the fucking dross they served up in the summer is an outrage, I mean if we had been unlucky fair enough but his team were fucking baby kack. Might as well get Harry in there before his heart attack, at least if it's an Englishman he'll understand us all when we abuse the useless mong. I can imagine Hughton being given a crack at some point, he has the right manner (touch of the SBR's) and heritage. I don't mean that he's coloured btw... Class
-
I thought he was one of the few English players to come out of the game with any credit. Barry and Walcott were fucking hopeless and Benzema embarrassed Ferdinand. Lescott was struggling throughout, Gibbs was shakey at the back and when he finally got forward in the second half his delivery (much like Milners) was poor, Young barely touched the ball and Jagielka was the worst rightback since Perch. I actually thought Henderson wasn't too bad. Nowt flash but generally neat and tidy and he put in one excellent pass for Johnson. Overall though we just didn't get any quality in and around the box and has been said Carrol's had far better service in a Newcastle shirt this season which is a damning indictment of the quality of England's attacking.
-
Guthrie, if he plays. Probably better at in dead ball situations than Barton. I've no idea at all where you get that from. He played the other week and started taking corners and freekicks and they were miles worse than Bartons. His freekicks where he a dig at goal are probably better but that's it. His delivery isn't close to Bartons tbh.
-
Was gash last night though, nearly as bad as Perch!
-
Was a stupid thing to do and he will rightly get banned. But's that's all there is too it. It wasn't dangerous and it couldn't have injured anyone (let alone killed them!) but it's going to leave us without a player who's been one of our best so far for three games which is annoying. Get it over with and move on.
-
What last night also proved is that if we can't keep our game raised against the poorer to the level we are lifting it to against the better teams we will struggle because they are going to do that too us. This is where you see that we're a mile away from the best teams in the league. They can afford to be playing at less than 100% against the weaker teams and still get a result, we quite simply can't. And tbf it's very difficult to keep up that standard every week (especially when you lose players through injury and suspension) so we are most likely going to have a few more games like last night before the end of the season.
