Shame for him most of the rest of our players are shite. He didn't deserve that.
-
Colloccini is better playing on the right side of the central two which is where he gets to play with Bassong, for some reason Taylor is always allowed to play on the right when he plays so it's Colloccini who gets shifted despite being a much better player. N'Zogbia can go for me like. He only ever performs when he comes on as a sub when other players are tiring. He's just head down and run, he has no idea where he's going and can't pass or cross when he gets there. If we get a decent off for him I'd let him go no problem. I doubt Arsenal are really interested though.

I suspected Portsmouth were shite before we played them after seeing them against the makems. When we played them without Diarra my thoughts about there midfield were confirmed. They are wank but they have a decent defense and strikers and they will be ok this season. Could be in big trouble next year.

How did Kirkland stay on after Bassong is sent off?

Never a fucking penalty, absolute joke of a decision. Totally deserve it like. Butt's passing is fucking awful.

I don't usually disagree with you SLP but I totally do there. Despite now sitting in a reasonably comfortable position we are no where near clear of the threat of relegation. Weighing up the goals Owen scores against those that a player who we could buy with the money we could get for him now would score (ie very few with 2-3 million) it makes no sense at all to take that money. Relegation would certainly cost us a lot more. I do agree that I wouldn't blame him for leaving though. In the three and a half years he's been here we have been a joke. We've had seven managers (including caretakers and interim), three chairman, two owners (and we'd have had a third if one could have been found) and never been close to the top half of the table. Add to that half of our fans have give him shit loads of stick just for answering questions about England or for not playing because of career threatening injuries. Why would we expect him to stay. None of us would if the boot was on the other foot.

FM Legend isn't he. Can't beleive we will be spending that sort of money on a player in January tbh.

Kinnear's hesitant subs cost us the game.

Cred it for Duff but as Offshore said Viduka was forced (and he looked at least a yard off the pace for most of the game) so I don't think that is worthy of particular credit. -
Heard them sing for a bit after they scored but that was it. Until the goal they were embarassing tbh. I thought they possibly slightly edged it but Given had fuck all to do. If Martins had been fit we would have pissed it like because Dawson is fucking terrible.
-
Can't see the point in him going there. He's on record saying how much he hates playing leftback and is unlikely get Young or Milner out of the team.
-
Is it not just paying for the running costs of the club?
-
You've jussed pissed me right off telling me the match is on Sunday. I was all set for a full session on Saturday as I'm out with work on the night. Fuck.
-
Gutted I sold Geremi for a couple of million now Is that with the patch? If so then I might have to look at playing Beye and Enrique more so I can flog them.
-
Liked their first two albums but don't listen to them much now. Since then they've been shite.

Michael Owen and his relationship with the toon fans

£80k a week + add ons (no doubt some of which are for goals in which case he will be quids in anyway) is more than fair for anyone really and the only club who would compete with that is citeh. If we are offering him that and he doesn't accept I would say it is purely for footballing reasons and if that is the case then so be it because we are not a great prospect on that score at the minute. -
Bad news* for us as I don't think Blackburn are as bad as he had them playing. *Unless they do go for Souness of course then it's part time

Thats three and half games now that that back four haven't conceeded btw. If only Kinnear hadn't been a fuckwit at half time last week we would be in the top half. Still really worried about the threat of releagation but feeling much better tonight. -
Sad that at this time of night on your birthday your posting on here but all the best anyway Gem

Madagascar 2 - Took the bairn and as usual she enjoyed the start and the end and fidgitted her way through the rest of it. I thought it was canny like but as with the first one the best bits are when the penguins are on and that's not often enough. -
DK's list is pretty comprehensive but there was quite a few i'd not heard. I'm still wading though 2006/7. I'd recommend this group Midlake, they only came to my attention via the fabulously titled 'Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve remix' of a track called Roscoe. It was a bit of a shock when i heard the actual album as it sounds like it was written at the same time as Fleetwood Mac's Rumours. Bizzare but its been on my iPod everyday for the last fortnight. If Midlake does it for you then I suggest you go out and find stuff by Besnard Lakes and the Clientele. I also suggest if you haven't heard the Drones, do. Besnard Lakes are canny but the Clientele are excellent. Their EP this year is very good but their last two albums are superb. Never heard of the Drones. What are they like? The Drones are one of those quiet achiever Australian bands that are a mixture of noisy guitar, eerie vocals and good song writing. They have a bit of an association with the Dirty Three and Black Eyed Susans if you know their stuff. A bit of background > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_drones Also DK the recommendations were for Parky, I knew you were a clientele fan. Besnard Lakes are the dark horse is one of those albums that it takes four listens and then it just gets you. Have you just confused me with Parky? Chez, I have, sorry mate. In fairness my original post was inspired by the following post from Parky and then I read your praise for Midlake. In the end it's all about KK Got The Clientele on your recommendation, gave it a quick listen and liked it. Also got some Okkervill River as per DK's post and the new Fujiya & Miyagi (Lightbulbs). All good. Which Okkervill did you get. Black Sheep Boy is my favourite but that may just be because that it the one I've had longest, they have all grown on me more and more. The last Clientele album is my favourite of theirs too. Okkervill River are great, been listening to The Stage Names all day, the opening track is quality. Seem to have been listening to a lot of music from Texas recently. Not got Black Sheep Boy yet, will do soon, am sure. The Clientele one i got was God Save The Clientele, From Brighton Beach to Santa Monica is amazing but am just getting into it. Glad you liked to the DB/BE album btw The Stage Names is possibly a more consistent album but Black Sheep Boys has most of my favourite songs on it. There new one is, like I say, growing on me with every listen. Strange Geometry is another excellent Clientele album but God Save is probably stronger. Like you say Brighton Beach is amazing along with Queen of Seville & In The Garden Tonight.

I have all of these and enjoyed all of them (especially Jacaszeck & Fuck Buttons (Carefull I'm sure they are Pitchfork Darlings)) Was disapointed with the Boris effort. Pink is brilliant but this left me a bit cold. If you like Beach House I would recommend The Instruments - Dark Smaland. Similar kind of music but I enjoyed it much more. Any of those other ones you would particularly recommend?

I would agree with most of what you say except for that I thought Enrique had a good game especially in defence. There was a number of times we would have been right in the shite had he not covered for the two centrebacks. And I thought we looked the most likely to take the lead pretty much from the off. They were getting in a few digs early on but not from particularly worrying positions whereas we had a number of good chances (Beye in particular should have scored). All in all I couldn't be happier with the outcome of this one. We desperatley needed to start winning games away from home and if we can beat these then there's no reason why we can't go to places like West Brom, Stoke, Blackburn, Hull & Spurs full of confidence. Mind you as it happen I've seen Portsmouth a foew times this season and they have looked crap each time (and that includes when Redknapp was there). They badly miss Muntari. -
Hope he does move for nowt because the choice is either that or sell him in January and massively increase the chances of us going down. Couldn't blame him at all for leaving tbf. Yes he gets a fantastic wage but any player capable of comanding that sort of salary expects better than the shite we've offered him.
