  1. The worry is that at the end of this season we could be left with just Martins & Xisco as are strikers. Shola, Viduka, Owen will all be out of contract and Smith is a waste of time to begin with. If they all go we are going to have to do a lot of work replacing them.
  2. Sweet Smell Of Success. Classic with a fantastic performance by Lancaster.
  3. Promising young manager but not what we need imo. Doesn't have the experience for our current situation (and Kinnear is doing well at the minute) and hopefully we will get a new owner who will provide a bit of funding for players so we will want someone with a bit more pulling power going forward.
  4. Shola possibly played better than Martins (who's inability to read Shola's flick ons is annoying) but scorining twice is more than enough to give him the mom. Barton is looking like a footballer again and Butt did an excellent job in the middle of the park (and where the fuck did he pull that freekick from?). Jonas is fucking class though, I completely love him.
  5. Lee's against Brentford would have been the one had it not been for the ref! Other than that Ginola's against Ferencvaros probably outstrips his and Albert's ones against manure. Shearers against Everton was obviously class too as was his freekick in his hattrick against Liecester. Got a real fondness for Seller's freekick against the scum too for some reason.
  6. We ran out of steam in the second half last week and I think we will be in better shape tonight. If we are then I think we have enough to cause them problems as they are no great shakes. I do feel less confident than I did in the last two home games though. And I just know Milner will do what he's never managed here before and put some quality balls in. And if he does I think we will struggle with Carew.
  7. Superbad - Would have been a total American Pie clone had it not been for the two cops who were the best things in it. Knocked Up - Canny Vanilla Sky - I wish they could think of a decent way to end films like this. They have a good set up and it's runied by a stupid sci fi ending. It's similar to The Forgotten, a good start but a wank finish. Canny soundtrack though.
  8. Given Venison, Woodgate, Albert, Beresford Nobby, Beardsley, Lee, Ginola Shearer, Ferdinand
  9. What's the craic with that, then? Barton and Guthrie really vanished after around 60 minutes too. Probably as they were playing so deep. Was very worrying how much of the ball we gave them, even in the 1st half. I must say that they knocked it about quite well, but they were getting through far too easy. Is that a centre midfield issue? No idea. I suppose it's just a lack of natural fitness as I would imagine he's decent and puts a shift in during training (as that's the only explanation I have for him having played as much as he has). You'd expect Barton to fade given it was his first start in ages. As for Guthrie? It's a worry if he hasn't got a good engine on him as he's not good enough in other areas to get away with not having one. True, Gutherie has faded every second half so far. I think that the incident against Hull and the suspension has really affected him. Up to that point, he was looking strong... Don't agree there, I would say every single game I've seen him play (including friendlies and all of the other games when Keegan was in charge) he has faded. I think he is a canny player but he looks like he has no engine. Mind you there were a lot of them blowing out of their arses on Tuesday night. I think the three games in eight days (especially as we played most of the citeh game with ten men and the nervous energy of a derby game) had caught up to us but I still think the squad doesn't look as fit as they shoud.
  10. Probably my favourite crap film. Jane: Actually, his new album tested well among teenage males. Lucas: Jane, did you compare the percentage of teenage male Rex Manning fans to the incidence of homosexuality amongst teenage males?
  11. Fucking hell HF you love those snappy one liners don't you It's an odd thing, but every one who disappears is said to be seen at San Francisco. It must be a delightful city, and possess all the attractions of the next world. Eirik: I was trying to rob him. And he took my gun from me. And the gun was full of blanks. And he shot a blank into my eye. And now I cannot see from this eye ever again, the doctors say. Harry: Well to be honest it sounds like it's all your fault. Eirik: What? Harry: I mean basically if you're robbing a man and you're only carrying blanks and you allow your gun to be taken off you and you allow yourself to be shot in the eye with a blank which I assume that the person has to get quite close to you then, yeah really it's all your fault for being such a poof, so why don't you stop wingeing and cheer the fuck up. Yuri: Eirek - I really wouldn't respond. Eirik: I thought you wanted the guy dead? Harry: I do want the guy dead, I want him fucking crucified but it don't change the fact that he stitched you up like a blind little gay boy, does it?
  12. This HAS to be a win game to lose this one will demoralise the players. To lose games on the trot like we are is like running in sand hard as fuck to get anywhere. A win is a step in the right direction to lose is another step towards the championship I think Alex's response was a bit more level headed. To call it MUST WIN suggests we should all just give up if we happen to get a draw. If we cant win this game, then what games DO we have a realistic chance of winning. Thats what makes this a must win It doesn't work like that though does it. Hull beat Arsenal, but that doesn't guarantee they'll beat everyone outside the top 4. I think people are dwelling a bit much on defeat off the mackems (which is always a coin toss). Drawing against Everton and Man City before that weren't bad results (both of whom weren't too shoddy over the weekend) and I'm very confident of getting something here, but I won't be throwing a wobbly if we don't. But we aren't beating anyone at the moment though are we. And obviously if we keep struggling against the weaker teams we aren't going to expect to beat the better teams are we. And this isn't me panicing after Saturdays loss, I agree entirely with what you are saying about that. And I agree we've shown a lot more in recent games so I am confident we will get a win tonight but I still think we have to. There was no struggle whatsoever while Keegan was here, then it all kicked off and we lost four in a row, understandably imo, we were a rudderless ship and 3 of those 4 finished above us last year. They're not weaker teams Kinnear hasn't done a bad job at all of steadying us since his arrival. Draws against another 2 teams who finished above us last year, after going behind, was an excellent start. The derby is a lottery, and people are overreacting to their dissappointment if you ask me. This is irrelevent though if you as me. The facts are this, we are second bottom of the league and haven't won a league game since our opening home game (and in that time we have lost not just against the top teams but also teams that are no great shakes at all). I'm not saying we are going down or that we are still the mess that we quite clearly were in the imediate aftermath of KK's departure. But we do need to start picking up points against weaker teams because it's bound to be harder when we play those who you expect to be at the top come May.

  14. He`s as deluded as the fucking fans!!! It was a lucky goal like, It was a shot not a cross! Watch the goal again,Steed hit the ball with the inside of his foot,if he was shootingfrom that angle he would have hit it with the outside plus poodlehead was standing right in front of him the goal was a well worked move. That's the only deluded thing that's been said in this thread. You desrved the win no one's arguing about that but to suggest that it was a cross is just plain stupid.
  15. Can't afford anything other than a win this game. We've already lost at home to one promoted team and we can't do that again. We have the same record as Deby from last season which I think puts a perspective on everything. I think we will win too, despite losing to the unwashed I think we have shown some good things in recent weeks and Jonas and Barton (if he continues to look as sharp as he did on Saturday) should add some more attacking impetus.
  16. Cars. Not as good as Pixar's best but still a cracking kids film (even if it is just an animated Doc Hollywood). Requiem For A Dream. So bleak it makes Trainspotting look like Dazed & Confused. It's not without its flaws most notably in terms of plot (how was Jared Leto allowed to leave hostpital apparently without treatment, why would drug dealers only deal for sex not cash?) but a decent film all the same.
  17. Jesus!!! the Fulwell end held 17 thousand people,do you seriously expect anyone to believe there wasalmost 6 thousand Mags in there!! get real I`ve heard of chinese whispers, but this is fucking stretching it!! 17,000, when exactly in 1930!!!! There were 28,098 people at Joker that day, are you honestly saying nearly two-thirds were in one stand (behind a goal). You can't critisise DK for exaggerating then blatently exaggerate yourself. The Fulwell held 17k ,even after alterations ( I forgot about them) it must of still had a capacity of 14\15k as for exaggeration, there was maybe 200 Mags tops (more like 100) they chanted "United" a few times shit their pants and legged it over the front barrier, into the clock stand, where all the old guys stood you lot need to get your heads out your arse and take the blinkers off. Never said it was a third full, I said it seemed to be, which it did to me at the time. I'm more than happy to admit this wasn't an accurate perception but are you seriously trying to claim there was only a couple of hundred there? Because there was certainly more than that.
  18. Shows Styles up for the twat he is but it also shows what's wrong with how refs are ran in this country. Personally I agree with Kinnear that he was in a poor position to make the decision (so should have gone with the defender because not making a correct decision to give a penalty wouldn't have effected the game in the same was as giving a penalty and sending off that should have never been) but I'm sure that from a lot of angles (not from the east stand where we could see clearly that it wasn't a pen) it looked like the correct descision so it should have just been chalked up as a mistake and that he admitted afterwards and that's the end of it. But the way the system seems to work is that if a ref admits a mistake the FA punish them so they are now unable to admit their errors. If a ref is poor for a number of games he should be sanctioned but everyone makes mistakes and the FA's actions should be based on decision even if it is, like this one, one that cost us points.
  19. Only been to one in mongsville and was at their old shit hole of a ground (2-1 win to us Liam O over the wall ) and there was definitely rough stuff that day. What seemed to be about a third of the Fullwell end was our lot who obviously were unable to control themselves when we scored and the place errupted. There was a load of fighting in the clock stand too and after the game I did see a fair few covered in blood. Obviously though there is nothing better than feeling of winning and you definitely get it more when you're there.
  20. Is this guy as rich as his brother though or is he the black (oops a bit racsist there) sheep of the family who's down to his last couple of billion?
  21. I'm suprised none of the staff on there picked up on it before they let her on like, I suspect they knew what state she was in before she went on and thought it would be good to see what happened. No sympathy for her like.
  22. Anyone else see the video of her pissed on This Morning yesterday? If not it's on youtube and funny as fuck. Especially when Schofield calls her on it and she claims it's medication
  23. Not sure what anyone is claiming Duff or anyone else has done wrong tbh and after watching it don't really think Jenas did much either. Bale didn't deserve to be sent off but Dawson clearly did and dererves a canny ban for was a fucking horible tackle that was intentional (he made contact with his leg bent and then extended it to make sure he really got him).
  24. your dad is a true fan Superfan tbh, he's had a season ticket since the east stand opened in the 70's and has probably gone to 95% of all of the FA/League/Champions League/wafa/Intertoto/Anglo Italian games in that time also. The coment was a reaction the the fact that the ref had completely fucked us and had nothing to do with the reality that there was never any chance of him leaving before the final whistle (something that I have seen him do about twice in twenty years, each time for important personal reasons not because of the performances).
  25. I loved it. It's inevitably a bit dated though. I was getting worried after HF's post there as I just got this as a double set with Colonel Blimp (class) but you've eased my fears Alex. Angel Face. Excellent noir from Otto Preminger with Jean Simmons (no not the bloke from Kiss) and the brilliant Robert Mitchum. Possibly Mitchums best in the genre after Out Of The Past.
