Sam and the new regieme are doing the right things so far but as things currently stand we couldn't really field a stong first eleven for the first game let alone look like having a strong squad for the whole season. Skysports.com understands West Ham and Newcastle are chasing FC Copenhagen star Atiba Hutchinson. The powerful midfielder caught the attention of a host of clubs after impressing in last season's UEFA Champions League campaign. Copenhagen face a fight to keep hold of Hutchinson as several sides look to lure him away to a bigger European league. Newcastle and West Ham have been keeping tabs on the Canadian international as they look to bolster their squads. Hutchinson's agent, Andreas Kirsch, is aware of interest from the duo and he admitted the 24-year-old would be interested in a move to England. "There is interest from both clubs in Atiba and there is a lot of interest from English clubs in him," Kirsch told skysports.com. "We are not in serious negotiations and we will just wait and see what happens. "They have both scouted Atiba a long time and they have informed us of their interest. "Atiba would love to come to England, it is one of his main goals to play in England." German champions Stuttgart are also keen on Hutchinson and Kirsch says preliminary talks have taken place with the club. "We are in early discussions with Stuttgart and they are keen on signing him." Anyone heard of this one? The fact that they're linking us and West Ham again suggests to me it's bollox like.

Bloody hell. Fair play! So would he be a good signing now that there is a chance we can get him? Not sure, to be honest. I'm not convinced by him still. Having said that, it's still fair play to the club if they were able to attract him. True it would be a hell of a coup. The prospect of him here is genuinely exciting to me but my head still says there's fuck all chance of this happening. As others have said surely there would be far too much competition from teams in Europe for him to come here.

I can't believe anyone would object to these sort of signings after Allardyce has already shown he is fully aware of what needs to be done in terms of defence and squad. The fat man would have went for this type of signing without looking into that first. Obviously we still need to do work in other areas first but getting a player of this type of quality (especially someone like Deco who would give us a spark in midfield none of our players can come close to) would be a massive boost to our chances of climbing the league. I'm not saying these stories are true but if they are I'm sure SA would be as excited as anyone if he was given the oppertunity to work with these types of players.

Took Mrs and Miss hips to see Shrek 3. What a load of absolute shite. I slept through most of it, it was that bad. 1/10 on the hips scale. The trailers look dreadful. Bad sign. I was quite surprised how much I enjoyed it tbh. Thought it was as good as the second one although that wasn't a patch on the first one.

Lundekvam was a good player for Southampton and David May? You don't play that many times for Manure in a champions league team and be one of the worst players in the premiership. And no Fumaca? Surely he rates right up there with Ali Dia as the two complete non footballers to play. Faye should definitely be in there ahead of a lot of those players too.
