  1. The cons don't sound like much of an issue that Rafa couldn't work on. I didn't see him much for Norwich but remember his name being mentioned quite a few times with goals on channel 5. I saw him a couple of times for the U21's though and he looked excellent. I'll be disappointed if we can't pull this off seeing as he seems very keen to come and Rafa seems keen to want him. Personally I'd prefer to see us sign players with top level experience but as long as we can keep Rafa happy that'll be enough for me.
  2. My little un is 12 now. Unfortunately she hasn't lived with me since she was 4 which is a right cunt (particularly in the early days). Despite staying close to her and seeing her regularly I do feel like I missed a hell of a lot. The flip side I got to go back to being selfish and able to do things on a whim (with slight caveats) and I no longer have to see her bitch whore mother every day. Being able to come home from graft and go straight to kip should the desire arise was a particular favourite in the early days. Especially as I'd barely slept for the previous few years.
  3. We will have to. Swansea are quoting £50m for a player who just barely helped them survive relegation last season. I'm not sure I can ever see a time when Ashley will sanction a deal of that amount but he certainly wont after we've just spent a season in the championship and missed out on the massive increase in tv revenue from last season. We have to face the facts that despite clubs like Bournemouth and Watford being smaller than us, that they have benefited massively from the improved sky deal and have more spending power than us this season. So if we're looking at bringing players with premier league experience (especially at this stage of the window), it's going to be players that aren't going to be very exciting. There's much more value to be had from abroad but obviously that comes with a risk as they've no experience here. But as Stawb says, a lot of the team from about 9th downwards are largely filled with players who you wouldn't be excited about us looking at. There's no reason that with a manager of Rafa's ability that we can't do what some of them have done and create a team that can compete despite the lack of superstars. Tbh I'd rather have that than a team of supposed stars that looked like they couldn't give a fuck like last time.
  4. I love an ambiguous ending if its a good ending. The endings of most of Lynch's work (particularly Twin Peaks and Muholland Drive) are brilliant. The ending of It Comes At Night wasn't ambiguous, it was clear what was happening. It just wasn't good.
  5. None of those (particularly the last two) would worry me in the slightest. We need experienced top flight players and only Navas falls into that category there. I agree we need to spend what needs to be spent and I'd be pretty happy to see those other players come here.
  6. I'd take Navas personally. He's clearly not a real top level player and I could never understand why he played so much for City, but for the level we are at I think he'd be a good signing. I'm a bit concerned about the level of player we are being linked to. I realise that funds are limited but we need a couple of big signings with plenty of top flight experience. Prices suggest it will be difficult to get much quality with premier league experience but there is more value to be found abroad. We're lacking in top flight experience throughout the squad.
  7. It Comes At Night. Never have I been in a cinema before where there has been a reaction at the end of a film like there was for this. That reaction (which seemed to come from most of the other attendees but may have just been from a single group) was anything but positive. Some of them loudly stating that it was terrible and other laughing in disbelief. I have the feeling that those people went into the theatre expecting a full on horror film full of gore and shocks. And I think this probably due to poor marketing (or maybe excellent marketing as it might end up with more people buying tickets even if they don't enjoy it). Rather than a horror or even a sci fi film, it's more of a drama about a family living in a time of horror. Personally I was enjoying it but I found the end completely unsatisfying.
  8. If you're just wanting to sit down in front of the telly and watch something then I can't understand why anyone would pay for Netflix or Amazon. Everything I've ever thought of wanting to watch is available on Exodus (or Genesis previously) with the addition of Real Debrid (which costs a couple of quid a month). Even without Debrid you can get anything recent easy enough. I gave up on the free streams for Sport though. They just aren't stable enough and you end up spending half a match looking for a decent stream. Again though I'm only paying about £4 a month and I'm getting everything you can get from Sky and BT as well as Fox, ESPN and NBCSN.
  9. Think we have a decent total now. Their batting lineup is looking a bit short and we have plenty of bowling options.
  10. Could also describe my recent sex life.
  11. Snorter of a ball too. Away from the test match Durham have picked up a second win today. Excellent run chase on what they thought was going to be a spinning pitch on day four against a Derbyshire side containing Tahir among their three spinners. Ninety odd not out from Burnham, good to see their youngsters coming through.
  12. I'd give them it back if I were you Parky.
  13. Dunno why we play so many games at Lords. We're shit there.
  14. Pretty horrendous opening session.
  15. I wouldn't panic just yet.
  16. I started using Trakt a while ago but never really got into it and then it stopped working so I never bothered trying to sort it. I tend to use the integration with IMDB with on Exodus which I find really good.
  17. Exodus has still been working fine for me (was using it last night). Bob working fine too. Zen is another one I've used from time to time but it seems slightly more erratic. I seen there was a panic on the other week and a few, Phoenix being the main one, bailed out but I've not had any problems watching anything I've wanted to.
  18. Jennings could have done with a bit of help from Ballance with the decision not to review. Always looked like a poor decision from the umpire though.
  19. I think Edwards is pretty decent too. Clearly he's just copying this from Caulkin but with the two of them, and Mark Douglas, pretty much saying the same thing, I think it's probably true.
