  1. He should just give up football now, it obviously was never meant to be... oh well, at least he broke his leg nearer home, he might recover quicker there =/
  2. nah, Inter Milan want him gone loan or permanent, Adriano's agent however has said that he only wants a permanent move, not a temporary one.
  3. I'd rather we get Adriano has a replacement for Luque, the same price we paid for Luque; but I bet Sam and the likes of Cacapa, Geremi & Martins/Emre (who know him from Inter) can get some of that magic back.... The lad's still just 25!
  4. haha, that;s fucking classic....GO ON FAT BOY, SHOW MORTY SOME LOVE!
  5. Villa are apparently in for Valencia's Miguel, doubt he would leave Valencia for them, but if he would, why would he not join us? Could have a portugese speaking mate in Cacapa at the back.
  6. The Libertines and every band associated with them are rubbish in my opinion.
  7. Agreed about Owen, but I thought Martins worked hard, Viduka on the other hand did fuck all other than his goal. I just don't see what people see in him, Jimbo. If he's not doing the spectacular then he's fucking rubbish imo. And he doesn't do the spectacular often enough to make him worth the bother when he can't handle the basics. Works hard, strong, fast great leap and hes not going to score too many goals in his wide position, hes a striker and its where he should be playing. Martins has a very poor touch which is quite clear but he still is a class act. Strong, fast, good leap, combined with a total fucking inability to control a football, and a complete lack of a football brain. Sounds like he should have taken up the long jump. He passed the ball well today and worked hard for the team. Would take him over Alan fucking Smith up front any day of the week. He gets such a harsh treatment on here considering how well he did last year given the dire circumstances in which he had to perform. I still think he has it in him to do well as a wide forward in a 4-3-3.
  8. Thought he did pretty well, comfortable and composed. Looks so good on the ball, very two-footed, good range of passing. Didn't really have to do a lot today though he was almost left red-faced once when he and Zog failed to deal with someone (can't remember who). Closest player I have seen to him in the past 4 games I've seen him is Rio Ferdinand but without the bling-factor. Not the most commanding but a cultured centre-back, the ideal partner for Taylor or Cacapa, a more solid and aggressive player.
  9. to be fair the miserable little bastard (N'Zogbia) always looks like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders, must be the French in him. He does look the player that he was the season before last though and I can't wait for him to get a run of games either on the left mid of a 4-4-2, or the left centre of a 4-3-3. Emre may be useful in that position also but we have to see how committed and fit he looks under the new regime before passing judgment on the little fella imo...
  10. May have been a tad harsh but it wasn't his day for me. It's a long season and I'm sure we'll have to see him up front a few times and then make our judgment, but that 6 million could have been put towards a Manuel Fernandes for example, an exciting ball-playing midfielder with pace and forward drive in both his passing and athleticism. Still hoping we get another creative player in as well as Faye, a couple short of a decent squad.
  11. We played very well in first half up until they scored. Was Taylor's mistake I reckon, should have stepped up with Roz and the rest of the back for instead of following Mido and playing him onside! After their goal we just looked deflated and Viduka proved once again that he is no Kevin Davies in the air so why the ball is pumped to him at head height from all over the place I'll never know. The lad has a big head, fair enough; but he is so much more comfortable with a ball to feet than in the air, it's sick to keep watching it, I reckon Andy Carroll and Ameobi would have won as much if not more in the air than the Duke today. Disappointing to see Martins come off again to make way for Owen, service to Martins was poor today and I bet you he would have finished off that chance Owen missed. I thought Martins didn't play too badly today and passed it around no problems. He also showed ridiculous pace from Viduka's ball over the top in the first half and it was a shame he couldn't do better in the finish, but few would have got close to carving a chance out for themselves in that position so credit to him for that. Was disappointing to see Martins' reaction to coming off either, hopefully was just frustration but it's never good to see a player look so glum coming off... Cacapa was bloody solid when he came on. On this showing, i'd start him in the middle against Barnsley with Taylor at right back and Roz in the middle. Was loving Cacapa's challenges, brutal. Smith was useless today, passion < quality. With everyone fit he would not get anywhere near the starting lineup for me after the 3 games I have seen this season, thought he was alright against Sampdoria though. He just lacks footballing ability for me, more likely to get sent off than make a goal for the team imo =/ Butt played well I thought, better than Geremi who was a bit anonymous today. Milner was alright in patches, and Zog although not the greatest defensive display today was our shining light offensively. We need to play him left wing sooner rather than later as he's showing some of that form we know he has in him, wonderful goal today, sheer quality. Viduka took his goal very well, was a nice bit of footwork and caught a decent volley into that bottom corner. Needs to show much more with the rest of his play though, and we need to be giving it to his feet more, not just lump it to that fat beacon of a head he has. Was one of those annoying games that we should have won and would have if we could have hung onto the lead for more than 10 mins I reckon. Much work to be done but I'm positive Sam and the lads will sort it out.... Good to see Ashley with the shirt on by the way, now he needs to show us a heinous amount of money!
  12. yes, back to the topic, apparently the smoggies may put a bid in, I just hope that we are one of the English clubs talks to Villareal and Riquelme's men and that Ashley should trust Sam and bring in the argie. Only problem is, does the moody magician want to relocate to north-east england? If he likes his football then he would. Btw I bought the cunt for us on FM and that season we finished fourth and won the FA cup. He only managed 25 games because of injury but....18 assists, 12 goals =)
  13. I did say - and possibly - Belleti =/
  14. Cacapa said in an interview that he was pleased some of our players speak spanish as it can help him settle him. So he either speaks or understands it from his Portugese and French. And Belleti, similar situation except he has lived in Spain for a few years and can almost certainly speak spanish by now. If the reports are true, then Spurs may be good for him so why not us?
  15. too right, the fool needs to stay on his bleeding feet also, it's not fecking rugby...
  16. IF ashley wants a big name player and Sam reckons he could use him properly then why the heck not. The lazy magician would be the perfect weapon, especially at home, to bring us this creative spark as the jury is still very much out on Emre. We also have a little spanish speaking contingent at the club now. Enrique, Luque, Geremi, Solano, Cacapa and possibly Belleti, this would help him until he learnt english. We also have the personnel to act as his bodyguards in the middle of the park, especially if we get Faye. This is the kind of player I would love to see Sam work with, as he has proven before, he can get the best out of this type. Questionable character, soft touch? Astounding technical ability! I want to see some delightful free kicks and corners fizzed in, Big Sam tactics with Riquelme ability. I want to see some treacherous through balls played to the likes of Martins, Owen, Zog & Duff. This may be all just fantasy but I'd love to see it, I'd love to see someone in the EPL take a gamble on Riquelme and I'd be thrilled if it was us. Go on Big Sam, you said if a quality player becomes available we should go for it, let's do it.
  17. what, you mean like he did with Hierro at Bolton?
  18. Yes, the service to him was bad, but much like Shearer when he had his bad days, he was too far up field and isolated. You can't do that when you're a fat, aging lump, you need service to feet as well as his head, and quick bodies like Martins, Zog, Duff, Milner, Owen etc creating space and stretching defences.
  19. Hope Sam isn't gonna try to make him his Kevin Davies. He's a much better player than that, he needs to be playing Deeper, and get some ball to feet, especially at his age. Could be very Sheringhamesque I think if he is given the ball to play with. Then the little-uns can feed off his link-up play
  20. haim should have done better, my granny is quicker over 5 yards
  21. O'neils Villa had some shite spells last year and were pretty dire against liverpool last week
  22. Rozenhal had a better game imo. EDIT: And Zoggy tbh. Roz didn't have as much to deal with as Taylor IMO, and it was he that was responsible for Laursen's free header in the first half. Played well though considering it was his second game in the EPL.
  23. Agreed, although I thought Butt and Geremi were excellent, I think playing both of them is too negative, should sacrifice one of them for a creative midfielder. Are you having a giraffe? they were absolutely shite and how people can put up with creating no fucking chances in a home game is beyond me like. I thought Butt looked class generally. Geremi didn't have his best game though. I wouldn't complain too much if Steven Carr were hung from the neck until dead, and (INGRELAND INTERNATIONAL) Steven Taylor made some howlers. Why he's such a darling of the hardcore supporters I can't fathom. Despite his frequent strength of tackle he's as prone to error as Bramble. harsh on Taylor, thought he was our best defender apart from being caught in possession twice! once he cut's that out he'll be a rock...
  24. ''Sack the board, Sack Big Sam! Bring in Capello!!!!'' Is it what I would say if we play like that at home in a couple years time. For now though, understandable as the team is adapted to playing Sam's way for only the 2nd time competitively and any time we get a clean sheet is welcome with our recent defensive history! Thought we were way too narrow up top, and Viduka was too far forwards and isolated in the first half. Second half especially Villa's defensive line was soooooo fucking deep, and they were just playing men behind the ball counter attacking stuff which worked for them. Owen barely got a touch because it was so bunched up in their final 1/3, Martins worked hard in the first half but as their defense was so deep he found it hard to get in behind if at all and run at them. Would have really liked us to have played 4-4-2 from the start but fair enough, let Sam tinker with the squad until he get's it right...
