  1. I rather like the word HEINOUS
  2. the ice caps melting has happened since the world began. They contract, then expand, happens routinely over decades and will keep on happening until the earth is swallowed up by the Sun =)
  3. I agree with that, and Carragher did buckle down and play at left back for many years, who knows, Beye might be pants and Taylor could be our right back until Cacapa's legs go =)
  4. I'd still like to see all 3 at home at times. -----------------Viduka ------Oba--------------------Owen Viduka playing deeper so the two litte-uns can latch onto his clever touches and through balls, especially as we don't have an out-and-out playmaker in the team if Emre still doesn't do the business.
  5. I was going to make a similar post going on about how important vieira was for them driving forwards, was their heartbeat etc, but then re-read the first post =) obviously it's very much up for debate and as geordieboyo says let's leave it there otherwise this could turn into a Vieira thread.
  6. I'd love to see Scotland qualify being half scottish and all =/
  7. absolutely delighted, thank you Big Sam!
  8. I'd say against the more physical teams Faye because of his power and obvious aerial threat, and Sam seems to rate him very highly. Against the more ball playing teams like the Arsenal I'd have Butt in there as he's still one of the best DMCs around on his day.
  9. Beyond A Reasonable Doubt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyond_a_Reasonable_Doubt) Was pretty dark, saw it late last night.
  10. Riquelme and Adriano in January =) haha
  11. I don't see what's wrong with Heskey being recalled at this particular time. He has played soooo many times with Michael Owen and his recent form in the EPL is pretty good in terms of his overall displays. THese are such important games, and I wouldn't trust the likes of Andy Johnson, Defoe and Nugent alongside Owen. People make a big deal about Heskey, what a donkey etc like some of us do for Ameobi. They are easy targets because they don't play the most attractive football and don't look all that comfortable at times. On form, both players would trouble any team in the premiership. I'd love Emile to do really well for England to prove that he can still do it at the top, and I'll be right behind him and the rest of the team and the manager come Saturday.
  12. The lad was desperate to go south, plus he wasn't in Sam's plans. Would you fell better if we got 500K for him? Perhaps a little, Nobby's let us down in my eyes, not only has he fucked off for no good reason he's joined them pricks at West Ham. £500k might have helped ease it but nobby going has added to our problem now of lacking creativity in midfield and the more of these big bruisers Sam brings in the more I'm concerned we're turning in to Bolton... he's not helping banish the jibes about him being a long ball manager either. Being closer to your family is more than a valid reason. As for Big Sam's style of play I could not care one bit if it gets us results. I don't agree with that at all. If his family was in a different country then fair enough but it was their choice to live in London. For the short time a footballer's career lasts I'd expect their family to live near them, not vice versa. It's part of the problem with today's game, as much as I hate Roy Keane it's pretty much what he was saying and I believe Sam agreed as well. Shows a lack of comitment in my eyes. ISn't it to be with the family that his cheating, trumpet-playing fingers split up? Good Luck to him if he is trying to save the scraps of his marriage - She will make life hell for the little man if she takes him back =/
  13. would be gutted if Bolton pull the plug on Faye at literally the last minute just to piss Sam off =/
  14. Man, Pompey have such a physically imposing line-up now, James, Distin, CAmpbell, Diop, Muntari, KAnu, Lauren, Utaka etc etc
  15. always looked to me like a lost youngster among men. Poor lad was played at left back for us way too often though, hope he has a long and healthy career now =) Edgar looked far more commanding to me also and I hope if we let him go then it is on loan...
  16. I remember that last year, and then all of a sudden, when all hopes were starting to fade, ''BREAKING NEWS: Newcastle have signed Antoine Sibierski!''
  17. If we don't hijack the Riquelme bid, if Everton, bloody Everton sign him, I'll cry for a week...
  18. Yes, only singing I don't agree with is the Smith one, but it's a long season and he'll have many chances to prove me wrong...
  19. that was Dragutinovic I think, Beye was the one that didn't want to leave Marseille because he's captain and they are in champs league =) Looks like he's changed his mind
  20. Steady but unspectacular by the sound of the commentary, not match fit by the sound of it. Fair enough. I fancy him on the back of my shirt but I want to make sure he's not another Marcelino before I spend my money Haha, Jose Enrique are 2 of my names, well if you convert Joseph to Jose =) I'm praying he's not cack...
  21. I don't think he'll get put in as DMC when you consider the depth we have there with geremi and faye coming in soon also I think Roz uses the ball better than Faye, and Geremi takes too long on the ball to be a good DMC I reckon imo
  22. I would like to see Roz in at DMC a few times this season also. PLayed the first half there for PSG and saw a cracker of a goal he scored from midfield linking attack. Has a good pass on him and if anything happens to Butt I think he'd be useful there. Cacapa/Roz at the back does seem the most formidable partnership and I hope Sam does have the bottle to let whoever it may be wait his turn if they are not in form.
  23. Let's hope Ashley doesn't have a heart attack any time soon, maybe Sam will get him in the gym with the lads a couple days a week...
  24. Fingers crossed for Faye & Beye, cracking business...
