  1. I wouldn't have minded a decent cup run just for the youngsters to gain some experience and confidence, but at least it shows that those forementioned youngsters are not all up to the job yet. Would have been horrible if the likes of Ashley and Wise would have taken this as a sort of justification.
  2. It should only be allowed in Turkish tea rooms.
  3. She is 6. Fair point about bi-lingual school, looks like Mrs P forgot to mention it silly cow. It's been a long running saga, it's the school she went to and it is walking distance from us, she had her heart set on sending PJ there and so I decided not to meddle. But this Turkish before English thing has really shocked/angered me.....English is by a country mile more important for German nippers than Turkish imo. I just had a quick look at the official curriculum where it is stated that it's still compulsory to learn English from 3rd form onwards while lessons in your mother tongue are optional in primary school. http://www.hamburger-bildungsserver.de/wel...d_rpl_entry.htm Me thinks you should rather ask Mrs P. about the fatherhood than question the education system... So they start English next year I guess. By the looks of that is the Turkish optional do you think?? Yep. It might be different at an official bilingual school though.

  5. Seems strange to me. As in normal schools you start with English. How old is Parky ynr and he isn't by any chance going to one of Hamburg's special bilingual German-Turkish schools? Because I don't know about other schools doing this. But then you should have thought about it before school enrolment.
  6. Good, so hopefully the chances that the criminals in charge don't think they might get away with murder and just sit it out to try to sell the club at a higher price in the future. I also share the sentiments that you reap what you sow by fielding a midfield of cloggers like Butt, Nolan, Barton devoid of any attacking flair. It also shows that Hughton isn't that managerial genius that he suddenly has become for many.
  7. It's because of the special contractual situation with young Players in France. Their youth terms include a stipulation that they have to sign their first professional contract with the club they were training with as youngsters. It was enforced to stop foreign clubs raiding French clubs and benefiting from their (what they think) superior youth system. The legality of this system got acknowledged by CAS in several cases (including N'Zogbia's). And I think it's only English club's as they are the one's who raid French clubs most. I think Spanish clubs stopped after Valencia lost their case against Auxerre after they signed Sissoko. But I am not sure and don't know about other nations.
  8. Didn't the N'Zogbia transfer get approved in our favour via a UEFA tribunal, and Jonas under the Webster ruling ? The N'Zogbia got decided by a CAS decision in the end IIRC - with Charlie having to pay something like 500k and Newcastle 200k.
  9. Wow, what a great run we were on before the West Brom game. Hadn't won since before Christmas, two draws out of six games (rubbish cup games not included), the last in a disappointing home derby against the mackems. Never mind his heart, but he talks as if he is brain dead.
  10. Tbh, I do find it a bit strange that you jump at every opportunity (and really awful web rumour) to mock other teams at the same time you have a go at the mackems for their obsession...
  11. Is she though? two weeks ago there was a snippet or story every other day about how well it was progressing, how many people were in for it and how "a deal will be done by the end of the week". Now though its gone ominously quiet and we've been here before, if Decka and Harris dont make any soundbites then we're in trouble. She was pretty accurate with her Keegan/Wise/Ashley stories in the past, too. Unfortunately.
  12. Geremi has according to his agent signed for Cologne (together with M'Bami). http://www.francefootball.fr/FF/breves2009...rs-cologne.html
  13. Even more difficult than the quote function, eh...
  14. Alan O'Brien won his first cap during his time at Newcastle, didn't he...
  15. Well good for them. Those Personalausweise here are quite handy, too. Can't understand the fuzz about it. whats this? (bolded bit) German version of the personal id card. so is this in addition to a passport?, or does it replace it? It's an addition.

  17. Probably as likely as Christmas tree getting the hang of the quote function....
  18. Though, if you talk to the nationals you sound desperate, but if you just talk to the locals it's more subtle and you know it will still find its way into the main news.
  19. A another recluse, expect him to publically drown a pint of the tarik quite soon then...
  20. I am pretty sure I once read about their interest in Newcastle in the Lörrach Zeitung...
