The board will indeed deserve credit if all those players do perform well over the course of one and more seasons with the club finishing in the upper regions of the table. Plus, the players have to be not sold at the first profitable business opportunity. At the moment there far too many ifs and risks to make a judgement that only can be made with hindsight. -
The Mail say a deal is close. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...emba-Cisse.html Not that 'Sportsmail Reporter' knows anything, but apparently Sochaux might have bought that replacement they need for Maiga, so I imagine if that's the case then we'll be back in for him. Would be delighted with Cisse though and amazed if we spent an 8 figure sum on any player. We'll see. Papiss Demba Cisse looks a decent striker. Wouldn't have been bad, but the deal is dead. Newcastle offered 10m Euro, Freiburg wanted 15. There also was some hassle about agent fees. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesl...-newcastle.html

In Germany Wolfsburg want to get rid of Helmes who has a couple of caps. They signed him for 5m Euro back in January, so he's probably considerably cheaper and would be a decent improvement on what we have currently.

I do prefer left footed players as left back, but have to say that ultimately it depends on their ability how they perform. Philipp Lahm for example is an excellent left back despite being right footed. -
http://www.vi.nl/Nieuws-item/206038/PSV-la...-vertrekken.htm Good that there was a "plan" for a replacement for Enrique that came into force... Now we have to hope that the reports in the gazettas della Pinocchio are 100% true (who are also reporting of an interest of Roma).

Come on happy bunnies, were would we be today if we hadn't all those players we were close to signing before the US tour during the US tour after the US tour before the start of the season according to Pardew...

Basically they just moved on to another French club, and are apparently offering more, than what the did for Maiga in the first place. And guess what, Roux earlier in the transfer window went on strike to enforce a transfer to Schalke...

Prefered Stojkovic tbh.

12 days to get a left back and striker in

I honestly don't blame the man - he's probably just as frustrated by the administration as we all are. No, he's just a lying c**t. -
= what in The Premiership, 20 in 150 ? He would be up against better defenders and goalkeepers in England. Here's hoping - if we do sign him - I'm totally wrong. Team Unimpressed. Better GK in England !!? Are you kidding me ? Well shirley they would be playing in England, Germany, Spain & France, non? I mean no disrespect, but the French league is not one of the best, so surely if they had better players [goalies] they'd be elsewhere? Of course Premier League (or Liga) is a much better league but french GK are (for sure) better than in England. English and German GK ? Please... Yes, Germany is well known for their terrible standard of goalkeepers...

Wow, that's really a new art of kicking a corner...

Due diligence? That's not something our current owner is very fond of...

Well yes, but I do think its sloppy on this account. How many times do you read Holland v XYZ, thats wrong. As you are aware, Holland is a region in the Netherlands. Actually it refers to two provinces And our antipodean friend is correct. Region / Province same thing I know, that's why I pointed out there were two of them. I know there was two of them. If we are being pedantic, its actually North Holland and South Holland. I was there in April and chatting to some Dutch, a few of them said they dont like the term Holland as it encompasses the WHOLE of the Netherlands. The others said they couldnt really careless as they were all Dutch and thats it. Suppose its like a North v South divide here. Anyways, this doesnt clear up the fact we wont have a LB for the weekend They don't like the term 'Dutch', especially the older generation Out of interest, how do they refer to themselves? Netherlanders/Nederlanders I think. As long as they keep on singing that their national hero is of German blood everything is fine with me...

Will he want to stick with us if he proves to be a fine player with the club having no ambition? Will the club want to stick with him when they get an offer and they can sell him with a profit?
-
Having said this, he's quite good with pelanties though.

As Stevie said a while back, potentially the first player to get booed at his own testimonial. Isnt be becoming a bit of cult figure now? Or is that just me? Not just you Painfully average but I can't help but like the bloke. Gets far too much abuse from the stands. He's the epitome of what has been going wrong at the club for several years now. He has his short spells of brilliance where he looks like a decent squad player and that help him to get new deals, but for the other 80% of a season he is either injured or just plain shit. There is a reason Keegan wanted to get rid of him to move on and take the club forward with all other managers deciding to stick with him the club is not making any progress. He's 29 years old now and most women have a better grasp of the offside rule than him. I agree. I still like him though. He's shit but he's our shit. I would be quite happy with him being someone else's shit tbh.

How do we know this yet? I hope he does turn out to be good, but at the moment he still has everything to prove. As much as I'm firmly in Team Moan Like a Cunt Because Your Sick of The Club Being Raped By a Fat Cockney Twat, Cabaye isn't a player I'm worried about. I think he'll be class. He might or he might not. He wouldn't be the first decent player failing to adapt to a new league, team, area etc. He has the potential to be a good/very good/superb player. But it's far too early to say he is an improvement to the former captain and one of the main goal scorers. And for the record, I was never a fan of Nolan
