  1. Or advertising, or employment law, or public relations...
  2. Hustler @ St James' Park with porn as half time entertainment being shown on those new Jimbo screens
  3. Did those poor Malaysians ever find the way out of it? Anyway, the Malaysian tourist board could probably be interested in buying the name rights: Malaysians@St James' Park Stadium
  4. Honestly, who is advising these baffoons? This name is just ridiculous and just totally wrong for so many reasons. I am not sure how good the idea is to use the name of a brand as an example that now is even more likely to get boycoutted. Simpletons.
  5. The quotes on .com say that we are only after players under 22 anyway with us already in talks with to 16 year olds from Ireland. That's probably the calibre we can attract to strengthen the team with paying peanuts.
  6. I know it's repeating what myself and others have said but he made a crazy mistake last January when we were in the shit and, instead of investing to help make sure we stayed up, he made a profit iirc. And it would have been a bigger one if Barton hadn't got injured because that was the only reason Nolan was brought in. What's the chances of the same thing happening this coming January and promotion being jeopardised by another stupid gamble? Kinnear claimed he had £12m to spend leading up to that window too. Only to hunt players like Richardson at the last minute just to claim that they had tried. Now they are probably waiting to hear from these South American agents again...
  7. Most of them will probably have a criminal record because of it though...
  8. They mights just confiscate some cats though...
  9. One thing I used to like when going to SJP was the lack of video screens. I find them absolutely awful. What are they good for? To show the score? Er, appart from those suffering of Alzheimer's anyone not knowing the actual score of a game shouldn't be in the stadium anyway. Team sheets etc. are also not really worth it. But especially with the new technology all those screens bring is causing eye pain by showing annoying blinking adverts all the time. For example here in Stuttgart they had them hanging just behind the goals so you hardly could focus on what is happening without getting distracted by the latest offers from insurance companies etc. Absolutely horrible idea.
  10. I find it unlikely (given the club is now 'off the market') that Ashley's brilliant PR machine would choose to keep this information to themselves. Which transfers are you on about btw? They only do lies though...
  11. ? He was a Schalke fan... Just an off hand, slightly irrelevant comment about the consequences if we didn't win the war! Give it a rest and talk about gardening! Grow your own! It's a misconception though. The Nazis only used Schalke for propaganda reasons because of their success (which was just down to having the best players) and their status a working man's club. There was a brilliant response to this myth when it was published in the Times about a year ago: Now for Hitler and gardening... http://chi-simonk.blogspot.com/2007/10/hit...-gardening.html
  12. What exactly did he so well? He was only head of the academy for about half a year.
  13. He'll sit it out and then in about ten months time in the director's box of Peterborough he'll moan about the ungrateful fans who don't appreciate the income he has generated for the club...
  14. They are probably banking on Ashley not selling for a very long time...
  15. Media excercises... What seems to be right is that he did moan about the demands from Keegan and Shearer in the director's lounge after the game saying they wanted more than Scunthorpe's turnover or something like that (that's what Golfmag said on N-O who is quite often well informed IIRC). They also had to borrow him a tie...
  16. I guess I could fuck my way through blind school. At least you would get an excuse for all your typos. The new Skirge tbh.
  17. As I already said yesterday, I got slated for being overcritical after the Bristol game. But it is a fact that we are losing far too many points and apart from few games haven't really played well and dominated games enough to win them comfortably. This squad isn't just lacking depth but also class. There is hardly any flair and creativity in it. You won't win many games if you lower yourself to the awful level of football in this league, because the smaller teams will always be up for this and more committed. Get at those teams and beat them in style, because when rather football and skills matter than strengths and graft those teams won't be able to compete.
  18. Stolen from Mick on N-O (and .com)... On this day in history: 1996 Manchester United (h) 5-0 (2-0) Premier League Peacock(12), Ginola(30), Ferdinand(63), Shearer(75), Albert(83) 36,579 Fantastic. Immortalised in the video 'Howay 5-0' released within days. To paraphrase the famous Norwegian commentator, "Alex Ferguson, Zoe Ball, Angus Deyaton, Jimmy Nesbitt, Bobby Charlton, your boys took one hell of a beating." Of course, they still won the League.... It's all Keegan's fault anyway...
  19. Really? I am not watching any game. Skyscorecentre have them down on 24.5% of possession...
  20. Of course, any team winning at Barca would be sort of a shock.
  21. 2-1 to the Russians, looks like Tom wasn't the only one underestimating them...
  22. They fell off when we drew 2 games at home on the trot against gash teams. Away losses to Notts Forest and Scunthorpe just further consolidate the fact. MAs plan, give the boss a full time contract I got slated for moaning about it, but it was easy to foresee that if we can't really dominate and finish teams off at home we will start to struggle against spurred on teams away...
