Toon bid hopefuls backed by New York firm

This is what i think will happen Probably cause it's nailed on. Though you believed he wasnt going to sell no matter what...... Not really, I've been saying there are no 'serious' bidders and was even saying it when Lambrusco was LYING about the two 100m bids. I don't consider Moat a serious bidder either and he will only get the club if he does deals with Ashley to the detriment of the future of the club regarding future earnings. You on the other hand have been saying the deal will be done almost every Friday for 2 months now. Your pessimism makes me optimistic. I don't know what your grief is with Moat. His interest is reported by what I consider as rather credible sources (Culkin, Bird). His level of financial ability and commitment may be unknown, but I don't see the the persian prince riding into town on a white horse throwing money around. The club has been for sell for over a year now and even though the asking price has dropped significantly the interest remains scarce. So I'd rather take Moat with hopefully good intentions and ideas instead of the fuckwit of Ashley who isn't even clever enough to protect his own investment with his money. -
Not too sure about him tbh. Probably had to stay loyal to his former client/employer for his own sake, especially as it was probably his or his law firms incompetence to draw up conclusive contract to the fickle wishes of the client ...

The best thing with Barton Newcastle can hope for is permanent invalidity and having the right insurance.

I don't see the relevance of comparing things to 1992/93. Today is today. We lost four points in matches at home against teams that should get more dominated and beaten. Instead of taking advantage of other results we let other teams stay in contact. That is what matters, not if we beat the Mackems at Roker Park 17 years ago. We're not going to win them all - and we're still 3 points clear. Fuck's sake man it could have been far worse. And FWIW, I think the bit in bold is a bit arrogant. QPR for example were good value for their point and could count themselves lucky not to go away with all 3. Just because we came down last season, doesn't mean that we should win all the games. Of course should we win all games. We probably won't, but the necessary amount of arrogance should be in place to at least dominate those teams. It's bad enough when teams like QPR turn up and can be disappointed not to win. Dropping four points at home in the space of four days is simply not good enough if you are without doubt the biggest team in the league and one of the clear favourites to win promotion. It's the complacency and the performances that go with the poor results that bother me.

Not good enough.

Ranger isn't the finished article. And under normal circumstances he would not be in the first team. So I find it a tad bit harsh that when he actually showed some glimpses of talent that he is judged as if he was a finished article and a natural first team player. There is nothing to get carried away but the expectation level of some people is rather gross tbh.

Germany put on a fine World Cup last time round, but even then it should've come here. 1974 - 2006 against 1966 -2018 We are the only country in the world who has the power to change footballing law, yet we are descriminated against by German-Franco alliances in FIFA and UEFA. I think it was all a bit unfortunate and stupid back then. Germany were the first to apply for it (already in 1993) and already had secured the backing of Europe when England decided they might want to apply for it as well after the success of Euro 1996.

I agree. If there is one football nation deserving it, then it is England.

To be fair, there are enough who aren't as clueless as bobyule and LLLO (M4TT is probably still watching TV). See what I did there Dave?

Going down not too well on Numpties-Online Seriously, how blinkered can some people be?

Does John Anderson play for them?

Stick Martins in that bracket too IMO See he's keen to mention that he's up against his old team-mate in the CL Without a doubt. If half what I've heard about him was true he took the piss much more than Owen. He's fkn great though...

[old joke]Press conference at 3pm, isn't it[/old joke] -
Congrats. My job expires next week and as I only discover next week if I am wanted/needed as a judge. So it looks like I have a hell of a lot loafing time soon.

Ah, I thought it was about the DOF system. -
They've been trying to rubbish KK's rep since he left with bollocks stories. Is this one any different? I just dont get the scenarios at play. If KK wins and the club does go into administration, then this is not a bollocks story. If KK wins, doesnt go into administration, then its a lie. Neither of these outcomes are in way influenced by a story about administration, so it serves no upfront purpose for the club. If KK loses, then who gives a shit. I just dont get the angle. Yes, it is more negative press for KK but to what end? It's not like they've behaved in a logical manner in the past is it? Check HF's blog for the barefaced lies. I assume they hope a promotion charge or whatever will take people's minds off it until the next thing. Maybe they think they are going to win the case and that this will be seen negatively by the fans as kicking KK once again, so they can say 'if he had won it could have put is into admin' thus softening people's perceptions. It could just be paranoia over what happens with the fans in the case that they beat KK. Fucking odd if it is. I think that thinking that they think is giving them far too much credit considering what has been happening for a year now...

Legally right isn't always morally right. He could purposefully lose every game so that he gets sacked and his contract paid up and he'd be legally entitled to it, but he wouldn't deserve it. Just like he doesn't deserve 3 years wages after throwing his toys out of the pram 8 months in. Constructive dismissal means that the employer has behaved like a total w*nker. I can't see anything morally wrong in an employee then being entitled to his money - and that is why he gets it legally. On the other hand an employee who totally neglects his working duties would be entitled to f*ck all in case he gets sacked because of it - morally and legally. Actually. I can't understand this until you recongise the difference between and employer and an employee. FMP

It's Sir Bobby Robson to you That's what it says Would've been more impressive if you'd edited it in your quote as well. Hey ho. Any answer to the question, btw? We would probably have been far better off if Robson had taken a harder stance with the board room and got the players he wanted. On the other hand we were lucky that Fat Fred and Co. didn't let him go when he wanted to bugger off to manage England again...

Ah, it will be those new owners who were already at the Blackpool game just after one of the latest significant developments... -
There probably is already a queue of people waiting to hear back from Ashley. Shearer, several bidders...
-
For a settlement it looks rather dodgy and I can see why Keegan and his legal team were encouraged to hold out for a verdict. As you say, it is not just that Ashley doesn't want to pay the compensation, not paying would entitle him to money. So offering to pay 4m instead of getting 2m seems a tad bit too generous...
