  1. Played marra, I totally refuse to take pens in 5 / 6 a side games, arse twicthes like mad I scored one and the keeper pulled of a fantastic save for my second penalty at the TT summer tourny. I am win.
  2. Spot on. actually, the media often underestimate what the players actually earn. Really?
  3. I always spare my judgement until he has done more that can actuelly be assessed. So far we more or less only know that he is there but not what he actually does. People are always far too quick with praise imho, e.g. Pearson/Round/Hughton has sorted out the defence.
  4. Transfer fees quoted in English tabloids are always mental and probably even make foreign clubs believe they can demand those prices. A couple of weeks Deco was rated to be worth 15m quid in the English press, but only 8m Euro (!) in Germany when linked with Bayern.
  5. i'd disagree there. i think barton is a very average - he's slow and doesn't score goals. Bullard is hardly a prolific goalscorer as well. People are overstating the need of midfielders scoring goals anyway. There are very few Ballacks, Lampards and Scholes around...
  6. Why don't people just forget about Diego once and for all. He is as likely as a swarm of flying pigs. Arshavin looked pretty good in the first leg against Leverkusen tbh. It will be interesting how he copes against Bayern in the semis.
  7. If he was signed as one of the promised 'quality' players yes, but as a squad player he would be a huge step up from the likes of Emre imho. I think having someone like Bullard is also pretty good for team spirit.
  8. See I have a hessian bag with the Hessen Kassel logo on it. Superhessiantastic tbh.
  9. Emre? Emre is coming close, but doesn't reach the necessary level of twatness. Twaterazzi on the other hand... There's even a clue in the name and everything. Oh, I am pretty sure Emre means twat in Turkish.
  10. Emre? Emre is coming close, but doesn't reach the necessary level of twatness. Twaterazzi on the other hand...
  11. I can't think of a player I can less stand than Twatuso. A kicking, diving, whinging arsehole of a player.
  12. Funny, last summer he would have been considered an injury prone striker from a dodgy league with a poor goal record... I am surprised about how well he coped with English football as well tbh.
  13. You say that like you don't wait for it to happen cock in hand.
  14. Another thread that got fopped.
  15. Could finally get a Toontasic vs Newcastle Online game on I'll better not play in this one then as I can forsee lunging tackles from the Obefem fanclub...
  16. bad idea. I'd be surprised if Keegan was happy with this If it affects the state of the pitch it is stupid, if there are plans to relay the pitch ahead of the season anyway I don't see a problem.
  17. Dalglish was a class footballer no one disputes that, but the other two, who I have put first and second, were the leading men and fundamental reasons their countries won World Cups. No disrespect to anyone on this thread, but some of the names that have been mentioned in front of Zidane and Matthaus, are utterly staggering. Maybe a lot of people are put off by the fact Zidane is so recent, but it would be interesting to know if Baggio rates himself as being better than Zidane. As for Matthaus, still playing for Germany at 40, adn still tehir best player, albeit in a shit side. Zidane lit the 1998 World Cup Final up, and Matthaus was simply unplayable for the majority of the 1990 World Cup, a 5-1 against Yugoslavia stands out. True proven World class and World Cup winners. Baggio pretty much carried Italy to the final of the '94 World Cup though. I'd say the same for Mattheus in 1990 tbh. The West Germany side was not as good as everyone made it out to be but the difference over the whole tournament was Mattheus for me... Matthäus is in everybody's thought because he gave the team a confident start with his great performances, especially against Yugoslavia. Though, later in the tournament it was much more down to other players like Guido Buchwald who played the best football of his life. Looking at the squad I Germany had the best set of players of all teams. Kohler's one of the best central defenders I've ever seen fwiw. Brehme was a great player too. Hassler was quality too and Klinsman was probably at his peak. I wasn't a big fan of Klinsmann before, but his performance against Holland was just outstanding and totally changed my opinion. I agree about Kohler, I struggle to think of a better player in this position. In 1990 even squad players like Littbarski, Bein, Riedle, Thon were of international class. A total difference to the next generation of players who were mostly just average.

  19. Kassel are 11th, 2 points behind 10th, where they have to finish if they want to get into the newly formed 3rd division next season.
  20. Page 3 wanking material for some though.
  21. I got an email from his agent saying that he needs my help or Martins won't sign a new contract. I just have to send him some money so that he can get access to his Swiss bank account...
  22. Why are all those morons allowed to register themselves as Hessians? Give them some other flag.
  23. Yep, he'll certainly get ignored if he is scoring regularly in the league for a club not playing in Europe...
  24. They don't give a fuck about the PL. I can see all the issues regarding a breakaway league believe me. But once the money (tv, mastercard, toyota etc) is in place...It will happen. Italian clubs organise their own tv money already iirc. I totally disagree. Most clubs have already realised that an European league won't work for a foreseeable future as it can't create the same (financial) attraction as the national leagues. Look at attendances, but also atthe revenue created especially by TV money in both the domestic leagues and the European competition. The Championsleague is a nice bonus as it is now (as it helps to widen the gap to other domestic teams), but wouldn't work as a breakaway league on its own. Trickle down is a nice idea but when big business and branding gets hold of something it normally ends up as summat totally different. But if you and others are holding faith in the average football supporter don't hold your breath. For me the structure now is about right.....But for clubs who want to keep all the money and be in a league it is almost impossible to get relegated out of that is another thing and as more big money comes into football it will unfortunately be a business descision on many levels sadly. How many shirts do Man U or Barca sell abroad or internationally compared to their core support....? But I agree it would be a quantum leap but don't doubt dark minds in air conditioned offices aren't looking at the get go. Of course it is a business decision, but as far as I know clubs have realised themselves that the domestic leagues are the core of their business that can get replaced by a international league. That's why they scrapped most of their revolutionary plans already about ten years ago and I don't think they will come up with them in the foreseeable future.
