  1. tbh one in six people in the US know who David Beckham is. One is twelve might know who 'Posh' is meant to be. We're not as obsessed with has-beens over here. Yeah ? no shit ! Pele, Beckenbauer, Best, Marsh, Alberto, Chinaglia....... Way to pull out those recent examples, Jimbo. Ok, give me some examples of non-american world class players that have chosen to play in the MLS at their peak ? Fail to see the relevence. Valderamma and Donadoni spring to mind, though. Both played in the league around age 27-28. Donadoni was 33. Valderrama was 35. Next question.
  2. Knowing someone working for the media who was in the tunnel at the game between Switzerland and Turkey I actually don't have strong believe in Emre tbh.
  3. Can we have another poll of old TTs who should fuck off?
  4. I like the storm. Solves the problem of all the rubbish on my balcony at the moment.
  5. I want them all to fuck off. I can't work when there is too much action here...
  6. I don't follow your logic, it says arguing online is futile, not the internet is pointless for news, having a laugh (which is what it's meant to be), etc. No its not Do you have a small penis by any chance?
  7. I totally disagree with Roeder about his policy of just looking at players under 30. What we need and what the younger players need is some experienced leader at the back. Maybe such a signing is just for 2-3 seasons, but in football terms this would be good enough.
  8. Aye, good point. Not in my opinion. It's irrelevant how and why others got away. There is no equality in injustice. If the allegations are true and Emre is found guilty then he deserves his punishment.
  9. No chance of snow here with 12 degree Celsius. But a nice blowing storm. So I left my office to "work" at home early for security reasons...
  10. My ticket's still sat on the kitchen bench. I'm gonna frame it to commemorate one of the most inspired decisions of my life. A more inspired decision would have been to cancel the direct debit before they took your cash for it shirley? "planning"
  11. Don't worry we were about to sign a player in the next 24 hours. One week ago. It's pole position time all over again...
  12. Tbh I rather think it was a mental problem today. They thought they would walk this game home today but got totally caught on the wrong foot with the early goal. No excuse, but in its extremity I consider this game as a fluke. I just hope that the confidence of the youngsters hasn't totally gone to pieces. I think Sundays result at WHL was more a fluke... Nah, that was luck...
  13. If that's true, it's scary how quickly they get their heads up in the clouds. Getting told they are the next Nevilles, Beckhams, Scholes etc doesn't really help either for them not to get too cocky. But what do I know, meh...

  15. Not to forget that he didn't play Luque...
  16. Shepherd's Geordie War Cry clearly put the shits right up Steve Bruce. Bruce is in tears. I tells ya...
  17. Hey, it's not all that bad. We had 50% of academy kids in the squad. Better than ManU's golden generation tbh...
  18. However 4 posts in and you've done well to suss the other posters out. Hes on other boards too. Same shite.Cos hes 15000+ votes he thinks hes a legend. When fact is hes a nob 15000 people voting for Gemmill? Jesus wept...
  19. I'd watch things for 10-15 max and then not only take Pattison off, but also would give a kid like Kazaaang LuaLua a chance. He can't do worse than Le Sib for example...
  20. Hey guys, what is going on in this game...
  21. Can of worms, opened. I'd actually like o agree with him in this respect, because a good academy is the right form of "planning" . Though Roeder only took over the academy last season before Joyce. The likes of Huntingdon, Edgar etc. are not the product of this, yet. And just because they played quite well for a couple of games to compare them to the likes of Scholes, Beckham et al is just totally nonsense. When Roeder was in charge of the academy the young players were 15 to 16. From that age to 18 - 19 is the most important phase of a footballers development. Plenty of credit goes to Roeder. Even more so if you dont consider them that talented. Credit where credit is due ffs. Well, to be pedantic, Huntingdon and Edgar were already (or nearly) 18 by the time Roeder took over in 2005. And IIRC Roeder himself was very critical about the talent that was available to his disposal at the academy when he was still in charge while he was speaking about the ability to spot the real talents at young age. And yes, I give Roeder credit for what he gets out of the youngsters currently. But I don't think it is yet the result of the long term "planning" Shepherd speaks of. Let them establish in the first team and see if they can play on this level on a permanent basis. So far I do not get carried away.
