  1. Anyone know the latest odds? No sure what odds we are but reckon it's a stick on this year. - Promoted sides doing better than expected - Kinnear off buying duds from god knows where - Owen and Given maybe leaving. It's looking fuckin grim. In the past i've always said there were 3 worse sides but i don't see that this season I reckon at least one "big club" will go down.
  2. I always find it hilarious when the English still go on about THAT goal. You know, the goal which STOPPED them winning the world cup!! Butcher's comments are pathetic. Yes it was handball. Deal with it. So what, you were beaten by a great team, try getting beat of Costa Rica or Iran.
  3. Nice touch, well done to him. I'm sure his efforts and money will be well appreciated by the kids over there.
  4. To be fair Chelsea have probably spent over £300 million assembling that squad, and Man United are probably roughly the same once you total up you Ferdinands, Rooneys Tevez etc. Even Arsenal struggle to match them and they have an almost revolutionary youth policy backud up by some quite serious spending. He's right it is just a dream but it can still be done if the club is run right and one of them slip up like Everton did to Liverpool. When your comparing Barton to Ballack, Viduka to Drogba, Terry to Faye there is a big difference that isn't going to go away any time soon.
  5. I still maintain Kaka would be a good replacement for Geremi Well done to the team today, played ok and never looked in trouble. Would have been nice to really thrash them but any derby win is a welcome one.
  6. I have to say i can see where Rico is coming from. Chopra is a Newcastle lad who is only trying to make a career for himself. I'm sure if you gave him the choice of playing for Newcasltle or Sunderland the answer would be Newcastle. Having said that, booing ex-players is part of football, and any Newcastle player who signs for Sundeland would expect to be booed I'm sure.
  7. How do you know? I reckon Kaka would be a decent replacement for Smith.
  8. He's had an awful lot of stick he hasn't deserved. His recored i svery good, ok they do have a top class squad but still he's only lost 1 game or something? The Chelsea fans are spoiled.
  9. Why Enrique? He's been in good form recently. Smith is due a goal though, well overdue in fact!
  10. Ok i'll say it... He could be the next Marcelino!
  11. Agreed. Along with Owen they have contributed as much as anyone to the revival. I'm not sure what more Owen has to do to get some credit, some folk are never happy.
  12. Row Z

    Barton

We should play him in midfield then
  13. I think he's another Boumsong actually. Cheaper like. Nah not even close. I actually thought he looked a good defender but struggled with the physical side of it. Boumsong was just a disaster!
  14. Better him coming back from Italy than Boumsong.
  15. He's a teenager who manages to get a game for Barcelona, yeah he must be rubbish!! £7m, isn't that what we paid for Smith
  16. QPR will make a £1m move for Newcastle defender Peter Ramage. (Various)
  17. I fancy Smith for a goal tonight for some reason Its his kind of game, there wont be much football played and relegation 6 pointers are always about who wants it more.
  18. Definately one of the strangest stories of the season!! Hey - we should go for Eto'o as well while we're at it. He could do a job up front for us. In fact we're a bit shit in midfield so we'll take Xavi and Iniesta too.
  19. So thats Henry and Drogba up front for the run in then
  20. Fabiano's a great player! Unfortunately i could see him becoming the next Luque if he signed.
  21. Maybe you should read the article and not just the headline... For what it's worth I do think Viduka is a good player technically (although obviously not as good as Torres who is a fantastic player and possibly the best in Europe right now). You've got to play to his strengths though, get him playing with his back to goal and get lots of runners up to him. He can hold the ball in tight situations, a very difficult thing to do. The problem is his fitness and temperament which is unfortunately a lot more suspect than his ability.
  22. I used to shoot the dog, poor dog
  23. Nakamura's rubbish. A one trick pony (granted a fairly useful trick) of sticking the ball in the top bin from free kicks. Brown is overrated, a good runner in midfield but very rarely, if ever, scores. Fletcher isn't even a prolific goalscorer in the SPL. McGeady is a good player and i think he would do well in England. He isn't worth £12m though. I'd say between £5m and £7m tops.
  24. Surely a Premiership club would snap him up?
