  1. I couldnt give a shite about the Royals one way or another, but the stuff he says occassionally is fuck all to what we all hear every day taking the piss. I find it pretty funny mostly, as above, mainly because I like how he doesnt give a fuck. As someone who (mostly) opposses OTT political correctness, I always have a wry smile when I read the latest stuff he's said.
  2. Hopes 4-5 Players come in. Proven Premiership goalscorer, RB and CM with premiership quality/experience and one maybe two youngsters to develop. Butt retires Club appoint a DOF to run the football side of the club and give help and advise to CH MA/DL stop fucking whinging and going on about how grateful we should be We stay up finishing 15-13th. Expectation Sign 2-3 players on the cheap, one of them maybe a loan Butt stays MA/DL continue to say how lucky we are being a premiership club and how Mike is pouring millions into the club every day We constantly flirt with relegation. Where it ends, who knows...

  4. Realistically Id think a new CF (Carrol is doing ok, as is Lov, but neither are of the quality we need in the Prem). Then a new CM. Butt may well retire, Smith has his moments but Im really unsure about his long term use. Guthrie could come good but Id like to see a bit more pace from the MF. Our starting wingers are pacey but in the prem Im unsure of their final ball. A RB, getting Beye back would be fantastic if unlikely. I like the pairing in the centre of Colo & Taylor with Williamson as back up.

I'm being thick today, how do you vote? Logged in, checked members area etc..
  6. Id run with this myself. Colo had a poor first season but Id be interested to see how he done next. I think he'd be much improved. Though the whole squad will have to step up and get used to playing decent sides again with alot less time. Plus when you say cut it, Im just looking for a side that wont be relegated, Im not expecting miracles.
  7. The atmosphere generally at home games is shite, thats in most area's. Though, I would have to say that today level 7 (near the away fans) was pretty good. But its not always like that, far from it. I sit SJH Mid tier and its well below par. We used to pick up from what was started by those in the corner, but thats quiet these days.
  8. Canny game. Poor first half where it felt like we needed to up a gear. Unsure about the pen, not seen it yet and even at HT I couldnt tell from the highlights. Sending off seemed harsh but by the book. Not complaining though, amount of times we've been done over. Much better 2nd half. They basically collapsed and we took it up two gears. some good performances in the end, in particular Guthrie, Carroll & Lovenkrands, maybe Jonas. Pancrate had a canny game, I like how he uses the width, something I wish we'd do more. Shame about Enrique. Since the game Ive heard it was precautionary. Hope so. Though Kadar done well once he settled in. I think Houghton's subs were poor. I understand why he wanted Best on, hoping he'd get a goal, but for me it brought to a halt the momentum we had, plus best was poor imo. Good result, even better with West Brom dropping points.
  9. There is reading the story not having your own kids and reading it having your own. Ive now done both. when this happened I didnt have kids. I can recall thinking how shocking it was. But reading about it again and what happened to the bairn by the hands of these two and then imagining if that ever happened to my kids? Tell you what, well, I cant even put it into words.

    Ouch!

Left to right Top row first. 1. Top and middle left - On February 23rd 2008, during a match with Birmingham City whilst playing for Arsenal, Eduardo suffered a broken left fibula and dislocated his left ankle. This was the result of an appalling mistimed tackle by Birmingham City defender Martin Taylor , who was immediately and quite rightly dismissed. Eduardo made a full recovery and in January 2009, he made a return to the Arsenal first team, scoring 2 goals in an FA cup replay against Car. 2. The Coventry defender David Busst suffered a compound fracture of the tibia and fibula in this collision with Manchester United defender Denis Irwin during a match at Old Trafford in April 1996. The leg break was so bad that the bone pierced the skin and Busst's blood had to be cleared from the pitch. He never played professionally again. United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel , who witnessed the injury, required counseling afterwards. 3. Kieron Dyer, one of the most injury jinxed of modern soccer players, suffered a broken right leg at Bristol Rovers on August 29th, 2007. 4. Henri Larsson's broken leg in 1999 threatened to end his career. His miraculous 7 months recovery saw him heal in time to score crucial goals in Sweden 's qualifying campaign for the 2000 Eurocup. Since then, he had been a permanent fixture on the Swedish side until his retirement following the 2002 FIFA World Cup. 5. Bottom left - The German midfielder Ewald Lienen suffered an injury in 1981, which proves that it's not just broken bones that can be horrific. A sliding tackle from a Werder Bremen defender slices open Lienen's thigh, to reveal the tissue and bone of the player's leg. 6. Olesen suffered a severe dislocation of the left ankle in an October 2006 match, and was out for 6 months 7. On February 19th, 2006, while playing in the Italian Championship against Empoli F.C. , he suffered a leg injury fracturing his left fibula and severing the interconnecting ligaments with the malleolus. He was operated the same night by Prof. Mariani , a renowned Italian orthopedic surgeon. 8. On Saturday, November 8th, 2008, Díaz de Cerio suffered a serious injury after a collision with SD Eibar goalkeeper Zigor, fracturing the tibia and the fibula of his right leg. After a successful surgery, the club medical's staff nonetheless stated that the recovery would be "...very slow...". He returned to action almost a year after his injury, playing 30 minutes in a 1?1 draw at C.D. Nacional, for the UEFA Europe League (November 5, 2009). 9. Cisse fractured his right leg after being tackled by the Shandong Luneng defender during a friendly international soccer match in Saint Etienne , France in 2006. The accident happened during the 10th minute of the match, in which France got a 3-1 victory over China . Ow.
  11. No you useless fucking prick. If Mike had not taken the club, there would be no "we" because you wouldnt fucking be here. Twat.
  12. The book with no name - Anonymous
  13. I enjoyed it like, not bothered with the d/l content.
  14. Said on the news this morn that is was a suspected broken leg. Fucking suspected? Tis but a scratch!
  15. His wife gave me permission to take over the stuff and carry it on, trouble was she didnt have the passwords which, at the time would have meant everything was basically to be copied over by hand. I have to admit since then I forgot about it. If people on here are willing to help out with it though then I'll dig it back out and take a look at screen-scraping the whole site into some form of database. I think it's owed to him to keep it going. Peter if we can take this on and make it work, surely it's worthwhile? Well if its just replicating stats, Im sure a few people would take a section each and it could be done in no time. I'd happily do some.
  16. Plus at the end of next season the 3 year season tickets will run out. How many of those will renew if we are still not promoted? We'd also not have the parachut payment and the appeal of the club will have gone and we'd be on TV less dropping revenue further.
  17. I only got as far as "Wayne Bridge pulls" and thought thats what happens when you're single...
  18. Little evidence of either imo. The window was only better than expected because we expected nothing. Don't think they signed a single player with proven PL quality either. A year ago we were in the PL with a fighting chance of staying up. The current team is far worse than that and we're a division lower. Ridiculous how easily pleased some people are though. Lower expectations these days tbf
  19. Im not sure. That is I dont know all the facts to have that opinion. As for Ashley, as I understood the money he is putting into the club, he expects back.
