  1. Had an arguement with a wife the other morning. I was driving through Kirby Stephen on my way across the A66 to the M6. Anyway, my side of the road was clear, the other side had half of its lane taken up by parked cars. This was for around 200m. I was about 1/3 of the way up when an oncoming car decided that half of my lane wasnt enough (leaving about 3ft to the parked cars for whatever reason). For me to get past, Id have had to mount the curb so I stopped. On stopping I waved the car past suggesting they moved over a bit more and in doing so they pulled level with my window. This wife driving shouted that she had right of way and that I shouldnt have came past the cars until she was past. I politely reminded her that a) she wasnt driving a fucking tank today a bus could get past the other gap she left and c) I had right of way not her as she was encroaching into my lane. I think I got my tactic wrong as before I got to point C she had stopped listening and started ranting at me being a typical bloke. Then started saying she had right of way as she had to pass the parked cars and that she left the room incase one of the doors opened I think I actually started laughing at this point and just drove off shaking my head in disbelief.
  2. Or 3 blind mice "All-ar-dyce, All-ar-dyce, Beat teams for fun, beat teams for fun this wrong long ball rumour was rife Now we spread play round like butter with knife. Did you ever see such a thing in your life All-ar-dyce
  3. Lets see... Allardyce, Allardyce The football is there for all to see Black and white, black and white You gave this pride back to me (yeah, lets just see how it goes first though eh )

    Why?

Id have thought Sven would have been an easy choice. Or any one of the myriad of cheaper alternatives. I'm content with this appointment, I was livid at souness and unconvinced about Roeder. the biggest thing I think that you miss about this appointment is that is much much less of a risk compared to what you seem to be suggesting. An unknown like wenger or Houllier was. while that may sometimes work out, I really really dont think at this moment in time we can afford any more risk (like Roeder actually). Of course you can argue that every appointment is a risk. So lets just say Sam is a much smaller risk than many others. We need stability, we need to claw our way back up the table without false promises of sexy football or sorting out problems (read: sell players) or any other shite spewed by his predecesors. So far I agree with much what Sam has said. Perhaps its the same any new manager here would have had to say. But he will get my support fully and I wait with interest to see the comings and goings commence.
  5. I like how you also added Roy Keane in the bottom right holding the balloons

  7. Aye totally. The biggest flaw in my idea of having police in the "right" area's to stop and search is the complete lack of police to do it. Plus, I also assume that each Police officer is well versed on what he is doing and use his/her powers without abusing them. Sadly my head is in the clouds a bit there...
  8. Well, how can you prove the difference? Of course if Im walking to the shop minding my own business I dont expect to be searched because the police were bored. Then again, if I fit a description of someone they are looking for, why not? Ive nothing to hide. If people stopped pussy footing around being scared to upset people (like the kids carrying knives) maybe we'd be able to clamp down on it. But yeah, of course stopping someone for no reason isnt good, but its pretty easy for the police to have a reason if they really wanted. I also think random checks in schools would be a good idea to check for things such as knives etc. On the searching though, why would the police stop and search for no reason? I'm really thinking of groups of kids hanging around etc.
  9. Aye, and Id also take away most entertainment. Enforce education and exams that must be passed for any early release to be considered. Any single blip on release and you are straight back in. Entertainment will come in forms of sports/fitness (ie, 1hr break to play footie). Not enough space? Easy, Those criminals with offences involving violence are dealy with much harsher sentencing. Murders, rapists, child crime etc where there is no doubt over blame (ie dna etc) and put to death. Police should also be able to stop and search for no reason at all anyone they see, more so groups of kids handing around. This though means we need more police patrolling obvious places. /rant
  10. Absolutely shocking. Sorry like, I dont care how many of you disagree, I'm strongly for harsh punishment and dont give two shites about human rights. Put me in charge of the jails, I'd sort the fuckers out.
  11. Fuck me is this ego massaging thread still going
  12. Id have to agree with that like. Half of our problem has been attitude. Half of the players have the skill and ability but simply havent been arsed to play for the shirt/club. Id say no matter how good they are, if they aint gonna change that then get rid. That said, perhaps Sam can give them that rocket up the backside and get more from them. Id rather see that happen.
  13. It was highlighted taht Dyer didnt celebrate his goal against Watford. So is he looking for that move away? Many suggest Spurs. Was it some kind of mini protest at the fans reaction to him when he was subbed last week? I think the question is whether Sam can get Dyer's pace, and make him a footballer with it. Or, is enough enough and time for boyth club and player to have a fresh start. Babyaro & Moore should both be away, Carr Id be happy to see go also. Bramble.... Well, yes Id be happy to see him go. I keep saying to myself that he just needs a decent player next to him and he's fine and that if Sam brings someone in he could be ok and save us some cash - but how long have we been saying this.... An thats pretty much just the defence!
  14. Yes. In echoing many. Where we are right now, I think he fits the bill. Never mind where we were when we last approached him, its about now. We have fallen oh so far since then while he remains the same. Plus, if you look at the other likely candidates, I think I'l let out a sigh of relief when I see him at 1pm.
  15. Our lass eats Quorn. Its horrid. HORRID. She made a Chicken Masala and decided to mix Quorn in with the chicken. She picked the chicken bits out of hers but left the quorn in mine. Didnt think Id notice. First bite of one....
  16. Phlegm Facetious Theodolite
  17. He's right of course, Owen shouldnt have to keep coming out replying to tabloids. Though personally I would like to hear him say "For Fucks sake how many times do I have to tell you people? As far as Im concerned Im not leaving Newcastle!". Never happen like
  18. Aye, pretty much agree with that Ken. Sam isnt getting my running around the house cheering, and Im not dilusional enough to think we're suddently going to win the league. However, as mentioned, in our current plight I reckon can can get more out o fthe players we have and I thin he can successfully identify players to come in and improve the team as opposed to plug gaps. We've often been baffled by our injuries, coaching set up, scouting network, tactics and so on and I do think Sam can improve us greatly in these areas. We aint a top club, we aint going to necessarily attract the big hitters with where we are right now. Another reason why Sam at this moment in time fits the fold. I doubt any of us wanted Sven, not really. I want someone who reacts and is emotive, not someone who seems to sleep in the dugout. Id also agree about Houllier. While Id have taken him over Sven, his did have a very poor transfer record. But, he did win things while he was here. He also kept Liverpool "up there" while we slid away. But, due to recent transfer failings I dont think we could take that risk, even if he did want to come.
  19. Aye, radio would do me as well....
  20. Newcastle winger Nolberto Solano has urged Sam Allardyce not to employ his direct style of play at St James’ Park if he takes over as Glenn Roeder’s successor. The former Bolton manager is expected to be unveiled as the new manager in the next few days despite the reservations of many Magpies fans who are uninspired by the brand of football Allardyce created at the Reebok Stadium. And Solano shares their concerns. He told the Daily Star: “Sam Allardyce is a name that has gone around, although we don’t know anything officially. “Whoever comes, we as employees have to be available to do what he wants us to do. Bolton have a very direct style of play and it’s one of the most criticised systems in the Premier League. “Allardyce did good things there, but I don’t think that the Bolton style would suit here. “If he comes, I think he should change the style in order to suit the current Newcastle players. “The fans deserve to see better football than what they’ve seen at St James’ Park this year.”
  21. Nah. I reckon if Al did want it, he would want to do it properly. As in have all his badges sorted etc. I still reckon its Sam, and prob next wednesday.
  22. Its a double edged sword though aint it. Do you really want the club to suffer? I'll buy a new shirt when I get around to it over the summer, Ill renew my ticket not too long after I get the application (or might delay a week to be really daring ) me and no doubt thousands of others. Maybe its that blindness that the club/chairman know only too well. Im glad GR has gone, but equally hesitant to who might come in. Though the current trend suggests a half decent manager now. (One good followed by two shite). Im not elated, far from it. While Id acceopt Sam now (and would not have a while ago) its with reluctance. We aint that good anymore and it shouldnt take much to improve.
  23. 3 years ago he didnt want it, a year ago I doubt he was offered it. A year ago he had a go at GR being offered the post due to qualifications, maybe he did want it then but wasnt approached?
