  1. Thursdays Child - David Bowie
  2. I thought it was an example of how much work you do as the joke suggests
  3. Rocky Balboa - Shite. Very little to get involved in. The poor build up to a meaningless fight. The fact the lip sinc. went towards the end didnt help either Apocalypto - Sounds like a lolly, but was actually pretty good. Action kinda flick that kept you entertained throughout. Not a very deep plot, so it was easy to watch. But, worth seeing.

    The Patter

Two guys sitting in the office chatting when this girl passes them going to the toilet..... Guy says "I think she's nice" Guys mate "well nip over and give her the patter" Guy "the patter?" Guys mate "aye the patter" Guy "I don't know any patter I've never found it easy to talk to girls" Guys Mate " its easy all you have to say is "hello" and she will say "hello" Then say "it's a nice day isn't it" Then she will say "Yes it is" Then you say " but not half as nice as you!" Then she will say "Oh thank you" Then the patter will just flow . . . . Guys Mate "look there she coming back out, go and give it a go" So nervously off he goes, re-running the patter in his head He walks up and says "Hello" She says "Hello" He says "It's a nice day isn't it?" She says "Yes it is" He says "but not half as nice as you" She says "Oh thank you" Few seconds of uneasy silence.............................. Then he says........................................ "Been for a shite then?"

  9. Think I might take the Friday of next week and the Monday of the following week off and just have myself a long lazy weekend to make up for having been in last week. Just so you know. I've got a holiday booked in sorching climates for most of February. Just thought I would let you know! Well, Im off in two weeks to Egypt Not quite scorching, but warmer than here!
  10. Hmm, in the UK.. dunno, Ive been around a fair bit of it, though naturally will be loads of stuff I aint seen yet. Maybe going up the highlands or over to Ireland to somewhere like Cork. In Europe, I'd maybe like to see the less obvious places that Ive been to, perhaps somewhere like Romania. I would like to go up to trhe Fyords (sp?) though maybe on a cruise., take in things like the northern lights up past Trondheim and around the top of Finland. In the world, Id still like to see Japan, New Zealand, Aus, NYC & Canada.
  11. Pah! Come back when you actually have to work the important days Wah wah wah. I actually feel a lot happier today having worked last week. Normally I'm suicidal on the first day back after the Christmas holiday. I still hate watching stuff I've taped and having to see the ads for what's coming up on Christmas Day and that though. Speaking of suicidal, I see there was a jumper on the tyne bridge in the early hours of new years day. I went past at around 4AM seeing some lass straddling the barrier with a few police cars around. I'm back to work today as well .. dont feel that bad like.
  12. World of Karl Pilkington - Ricky Jervais Its a good laugh for an easy read (bog read).

    Immigration

Well, if they showed any hint of that Id forget them like a shot. At the moment, they seem like they would get my vote over the other options. Then again, Im sure if we all knew everything that went on with every party no one would get voted for. Dictatorship ftw!

    Immigration

Well thats true, they do avoid debate on "tricky" subjects. IMO through fear of reproach. But, for many of the normal day to day people, they are avoiding issues that matter. Ok I started the thread on immigration only because yesterday I was read a very touching story about the death of the WPC, then today I start reading about the woman who was killed at the kids christening. But, on UKIP, I find very interesting their views on health & welfare, education and europe. Reading their brief agenda - I've usually taken the stance "all as bad as each other" and generally felt that labour over tory wasnt going to make that much of a difference. Same could well be said about these. Im not big on the ins and outs of politics. But some things do make you take notice. Things in the news, or in my case my wife works for the NHS so I get things from her side as well. Her friend is a teacher so I get thats side of things. There is no all fantasic party and all have a priority agenda. They would be disastrous for the NHS and leaving the EU would be catastrophic for our economy. Besides which, I happen to like living and travelling in Europe and the benefit that all our reciprocal agreements bring. But its to near christmas for politics, we'll agree to disagree. Dunno, I quite like some of their ideas on the NHS. But aye, Xmas and all
