Ah good I was just checking to see how much you would respond if I asked. Obviously not THAT critical then
-
I call mine the other half or the wife. or sometimes i even refer to her using her name. Hmm, never thought of that approach, might give it a try
-
Is it a deadline you are likely to miss? or one that is critical to hit?
-
Aye, I call mine wor lass or the wife, both of which she hates
-
yeah, that sounds more likely Aye it is, "He said it was to (sic) big!"

I was a fan of the works as a kid, read the three books plus The Hobbit. All are canny reads and Ive read them a few times since. I also recall seeing an animated version of half of LotR when I was a kid. The recent films I thought were a good attempt though never quite what the books are (as usual). I tried reading The Silmarilion when I was younger as well and also gave up half way through. I think it would have been canny for The Hobbit to be made by the same crew for continuity more than owt else. Though, The Hobbit was more of a kids book even that LotR and Id expect the same from the film.

So have the courts been deciding who won all this time since it happened?

The 1930's?
-
I quite enjoyed reading it ......

Aah the 20's, thought it was a great decade until the 30's came along...

The one I usually recommend is La Riviera opposite Buffalo Joes on the quayside. Great food, great wines, good service and good atmosphere. Not the cheapest but its worth paying the little extra.

Well, the biggest flaw being that you'd be guaranteed to hit the car in front or mount the cerb or whatever

Its a bit bloody different though. I agree about the blame culture and the money that people are trying to make for largely their own stupidity. Like, "Oh, yes I did break into his house, but slashed my face while jumping through his window. His fault for now putting a warning on the glass". Of course they know they are going to be shot, hence I agree that they should not be able to sue for compensation. But, and this is different, the government should offer those who return from fighting for their country injured a standard package for their loss/injury.

Agreed. The town is totally shite. Too busy and too expensive. I remembner a few years back paying £80 tickets for the town. That was getting into three clubs and drinks all in. About what Id have spent anyway, but it was still shite. Over hyped. I used to be well up for it, now Id be happier having a few friends round and making a curry or something.

Obviously you have to expect the being shot at bit for signing up. But, Im all for giving them support if they return home missing a limb, poisoned or whatever. Its all very well saying dont sign up if you dont want to get injured, but the package they get hardly amounts to their career being cut short (footballer who by the way also gets support from the pfa in some cases). I also think they'd have trouble getting critical illness cover from their insurers. Im sure the government would much rather pay the few cases needed for injured soldiers than hike all of their packages up to cover the possibility. Fact is, you cant say dont go if you dont like it. Its a career not a sentence and people would just stop signing up. What I dont think though, is that the individual should sue for damages? I think there should be a standard package put in place. If this happens you get X and if that happens you get Y kind of thing. Of course, this also opens up the debate about whether the govenment is providing the required amount of funding to supply those who need adequate equipment to reduce the number of injuries to begin with.

On the news, reckon 26 people have been found glued to the roof of a metro at Monument. Police reckon its the first case of terrorists using a "no more nails" bomb.

I really have no idea. Every now and again I have a sock amnesty where all the strays who have been trying to look like others in order to be paired up are plucked from the safety of the sock drawer and cast in to the souless sock sack (ok the bin).

I'd say you were wrong aye The fact of minimising the screen show guilt. However, a kid can be guilty about anything and it may actually be harmless. Happened to my mate who daughter was doing the same. Turned out she was reading harmless love stories but she was embarrassed by it. With all the shite on the net Im sure if I had kids Id want to know / control what they could look at.

Not so much watched, but I just bought Team Americal in HMV for a £5 and the special ed of The Green Mile for £12.

Matching socks aint that easy, esp when you realise you are behind in the washing and you are down to the last 11 socks in the drawer that have usually been the stray ones and you are trying to find a pair from them. If Im in a hurry my standards may drop and Ill grab two black ones that are nearly the same As for matching underwear, not arsed - though is preferable if we're gannin out - though I doubt she'd do any different. Oh, and I prefer french I was well fleeced the other year though. I buy her underwear for birthdays or Xmas etc and went to Debenhams. The lass obviously seen me looking lost and offered to help. So I agreed and she walked around with me as we talked underwear I ended up walking out with 3 sets individually bought for total cost of around £75
