  1. I was surprised by how positive and free flowing Villa were at times. The noises coming from there all season are that they're far too negative. I thought they looked quite good at times coming forward. Be funny as fuck if we took 4th seeing as the press still have it as a striaght fight bertween Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. I like it though, I'd rather we just sat below the radar quietly doing our thing while the others get the media pressure piled on them.
  2. Never mind all that, the best thing about the result was that Sky made Phil Thompson watch it. He couldn't hide his disgust at the result. Top bombing!
  3. Must have nice tanning salons.
  4. A little shit, but the point was when he played for us he was our little shit. Probably played his best stuff for us and as much as he seemed to dislike Shearer (and vice versa) the two were excellent together. I have the unpopluar stance of thinking he was totally in the wrong faking that injury and refusing to play..he should have bit his tounge and seen it out. Probably one of Sir Bob's best signings, especially as I remember when we bought there was a lot of people saying 'who?' and 'how much!?'
  5. Me and the Mrs will be playing a game of tag team sleeping. I'll be taking the bairn to my mams for breakfast tomorrow while she sleeps and vice versa. Rock n Roll.
  6. They don't say moving house is the most stressful thing you'll ever do for nothing!
  7. We had a fantastic midwife who said the same, that she still gets teary and it's always the dad who sets her off! And I'm glad to say I did!
  8. Since giving birth, my Mrs has cried every week at One Born Minute!
  9. I stayed top end. The one thing I personally found about labour was how quickly time passed. Now I know what you're saying, I bet my Mrs didn't think timed flew, but what I mean is that because I'm not doing much I thought it would feel like a much longer process. When she actually came to the pushing part she pushed for a good hour and a half but it only felt like 20 minutes, my Mrs said the same. Wor lass was brilliant throughout like, calm, didn't demand anything, didn't moo, took pain relief when she needed it, she was amazing like. I cried my eyes out when the bairn was born, I bubbled big style, was a weird feeling.
  10. I like Wenger but one of his problems is he's a stubborn bastard. This can be a real plus to a manager, refusing to listen to fans and sticking to your guns, but I think Wenger can be quite arrogant and dismissive with it. It's almost like he's refusing to buy players because the fans are screaming for him to do it.
  11. Again, as people know, I think he get's too much stick. He's never really been good enough. The problem he has and the reason he's never made it good at this level is that he's a carthorse and far, far, too slow to react to anything. I think people get carthorse and lazy mixed up, I have no doubt he gives 100% and tries all the time. The point is though, I would give 100% out there but I'm slow as shit as well.
  12. I do feel a tad guilty for them on a personal level but fuck that, I'm delighted they're out. Can they come back early? Be friggin typical of our luck if an injury occurred in what is a nothing game for them.
  13. I'd never even worked that out. They're more obsessed about NUFC than I am.
  14. I've always floated between Labour and Lib Dem. The problem with my General Election area is that it really is just a straight shoot out between Labour and the Tories with 3rd nowhere, so voting Lib Dem is usually not a great vote. Notice that I didn't say 'waste of a vote', because I don't think anyone who votes wastes it. In Local Elections I tend to vote for the person, which is where I float to Lib Dem. I think on local elections it's really important that a councillor lives in the ward they want to represent to be honest. I think they're more likely to give a shit if issues actually effect where they live. I don't live in the greatest area in the world to be honest (although certainly not the worst) but I'm always pissed off that every candidate that the Tories put forward for my area always live in kind of neighbouring affluent area. How can they realistically represent me?
  15. Motivation is the key to exercise. I think losing weight and feeling good are a great motivation at first..but once that feeling becomes 'normal' you've got to try and find ways to stop yourself from going back to old ways. When I first started running I was listening to music as I ran but I found myself getting a little bit bored of it and not always having the time to update and take off music etc. So I started downloading podcasts and it's the best thing I could have done to be honest. Depends what you like, but I download Danny Baker, Fighting Talk, and World Football Phone In and these pretty much keep me going through the weekly runs.
  16. I've never voted Albour in my life.
  17. He seems like a nice bloke Red Ed, he's just really not leadership material. Ed Balls is a friggin nightmare as well.
  18. If Capello was even accused of this the tabloids would be screaming for him to be sacked (and probably executed). Good old 'Arry does it and they'll still be saying he should get the England job after the Euros. Dodgy fucker, hope they throw the book at him. If guilty, of course.
  19. People (and I'm afraid it's usually women like) who go to a counter with goods to pay for..which start to be scanned...then wander away and around the shop looking for more stuff with not a care in the world whilst the rest of us continue to queue and can't be served as the till has started to scan her stuff. Never mind us, carry on.
  20. When I trekked the Sahara for the week I slept under the stars in total darkness every night. Saw some pretty awesome sights, milky way clear as owt, lots of huge meteors. This is starting to sound like a Rob W story.
  21. We used to always finish about 5th or 6th in the division with the top two miles in front and us only a few points from flirting with 3rd..we did actually finish joint 3rd one year. However, since sort of Autumn last year it's almost as if age has caught up with us. Even some of the teams that we've known there for a few years can't believe how far backwards we've gone. We tried chucking one of the lads's 15 year old son in but it hasn't helped. I like to think of us as the Wigan of our division, playing some decent cultured stuff but ultimately picking up fuck all in terms of points!
  22. After retiring from playing in goal at 5-a-side and now playing out I was hoping my new found level of fitness would help..but I've found the pace of playing far too quick. I think this has less to do with fitness and more to do with being in my 30s and all the other teams in the league being full of 18 year olds..
  23. Fuck me, for the first time in a long time a show of ambition. I'm shocked and impressed in equal measure. Having said that, the cynic in me is still thinking that they've bought him on the basis they know they'll be getting at least £10m back in before the end of the month. I'll not be truly impressed by this till Feb 1st and no-one important to the team has been flogged (ie Tiote)
