The only thing I'll add is that I don't buy this 'it wasn't malicious, he's not that type of lad' shite. It doesn't matter, even if it was clumsy (as some are arguing as a defense) he should still be punished harshly for his stupidity and dangerous play. We seem to have a history of our players getting clagged with no punishments being handed out. We've already had a couple off the top of my head already this year, Kyle Walker on Gouffran, Ramirez on Jonas.

I agree with that. Players can have a massive impact to a team or squad yet stats wise show up very little when it comes to goals and assists. There are lots of centre forwards for example who goal and direct assist wise have very poor numbers but who are MASSIVE pain in the arses to the opposition and therefore have a big impact.

I have no real party partizan views myself other than there would have to be some sort of accident involving a head injury for me to vote Tory (or, for example, if my only voting options were Tory or some even worse right wing Cath words like the BNP etc). Just on the Lib Dems, I've always quite liked them as a party and floated between them and Labour in votes, especially when it comes to the local council. I think they've royally fucked up though by joining the Tories. They could have sat back and let both sides fuck up, Tories getting the blame for austerity, Labour getting the blame for the recession, and next election they could have steamed in there and really been a force. Hoodwinked by the Tories, and now really unpopular because of it. Shame really.

Commercially for the TV companies then the first 2 seasons of it would be hyped up to the eyeballs. There is a FIFA regulation at the moment that forbids cross border leagues so it would be illegal for either of them to play in the English League. However, I'm sure I read something a while back that said they would use the fact that FIFA had allowed Belgium and Holland to have a combined womans league thus going against their own rule.

Going off seeing them in the flesh against us I would take Kone and Lallana. Lallana especially looks a cracking proper footballer, great at finding space, intelligent on the ball, nice and positive. I wouldn't have Taarabt personally. He's got a lot of ability but he looks like he just plays when he fancies it. Cats for me like.

I see they're tinkering with the new league structure again and asking Celtic and Rangers to put in 'Colts' teams, like Barca B and Real Madrid B teams in the Spanish 2nd division. Seems to me that they're doing it in the hope it would boost attendances in the lower divisions whenever one of these teams were playing, ie the locals will come out to watch Celtic reserves. Another interesting point is that it's being done as a back up as they think Celtic and Rangers will enventually leave Scottish football. Where do they think they're going like? Just back to that BBC front page, it's pretty much one of the reasons a lot of us dislike the national press and media, too much pandering to sponsors and therefore giving too much media time to the armchair fan and not enough to the 'proper' fan. The alleged 'neutral' BBC have become especially bad at this. It's the reason I don't listen to 606 or watch MOTD. 606 is either some Man United/Liverpool/Chelsea 'fan' who lives 300 miles away and iddn't see the game but wants to tell you how bad certain players were anyway. I think punditry has got a lot worse because of this as well. Pundits are basically knowledgeable about Man U/Man City/Chelsea/Liverpool but know fuck all else about the rest of the division or lower leagues. Anything they do say is either guess work or general cliques they get from the press. You hear alleged expert pundits spouting completely untrue bollocks about us constantly and this has really started to get on my tits.

Scottish football needs a shake up like. I know people go on about our PL being a 2 or 3 horse race but it's far too predictable up there. Celtic will meander on to successive bored title wins until Rangers get back up after pissing each league by about 30 points. Controversially, I would put Scottish football back to basics and put an American style system in place. Wage caps, a draft, maybe bring back a 3 foreigner rule. It needs it, big style.

Yup, stupid tackle, def a pen. However, I was saying to my mate at the game just before that that I thought that was one of the most disciplined hours of football I've ever seen him do for us. There were at least half a dozen occasions where there was a 50-50 which would usually see him lunge in but he held back. Especially when you consider who we were playing against as well. I've stopped watching MOTD after their pathetic coverage of the Chelsea game when they made a song and dance of Ba getting clobbered but failed to show or mention Ramirez' shocker on Jonas minutes earlier.
