  1. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Murray#section_4 Beaten 3 times in major finals by Fed, once by Djokovic. No disgrace that like. Only 25, he'll win one soon.
  2. Crying after defeat on live tv at a major sports event certainly worked for Gazza....good effort Andy!
  3. Thing is for the club to grow we'll have to sell them at some point. Income is down on all fronts compared with a decade ago. Spurs make more through commercial income etc. So we'll sell and buy to try to keep up with the rest that way. Best not get too attached to certain certain players if they're doing well for us, they more than likely won't be hanging around too long.
  4. Well that's the way the club is set up. Can't blame players for seeing us for what we are. When Keegan wanted to sign Sami Hyppia he was laughed out of town by Dekka...."where's the resale value in that deal?". Don't get me wrong, you can go on long way with this policy, see Lyon for most of the last decade.Anyway, I thought everyone was on board big Mike's fun bus?....dont want any dissent on here now...
  5. Comments from Robert Pires re Debuchy...very kind of the fuckin cheating diving genius to say so.... http://www.insidefutbol.com/2012/07/08/join-newcastle-robert-pires-advises-mathieu-debuchy-to-make-st-james-park-move/65110/
  6. Must say am missing the inane posting of every nufc transfer twitter rumour this summer....maybe it was shite like that that made some log out permanently....
  7. I smell stitch up.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18754479
  8. Our boy isnt going to be an Olympian after all... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18754732
  9. Wait till you hear from the poster known as "McFaul"...you'll probably not need to get a hotel in town, he'll probably have you round his to stay. He's a huge fan of the US, it's fine citizens and all they stand for
  10. Mrs PL got some Waterstones vouchers for her birthday and appeared grinning from said book sellers last Sunday with a copy in her hand....her verdict after reading about a third of it: "its alright...not very well written"...asked if it had turned her on..."not really no"..."the writer could write about anything and you get the feeling it would be shite too.." So after this damning criticism from one of the countries most forthright and influential critics it begs the question why the fuck has this bag of crap been hyped up beyond all recognition by the media?
  11. http://www.insidefutbol.com/2012/07/07/borussia-monchengladbach-and-newcastle-united-target-luuk-de-jong-blasts-fc-twente-stance/65076/ Somehow or other I really don't think we'll be signing Luuk de Jong....
  12. Yeah thats right because we've a long history of fullbacks who can do all that
  13. Agreed, he's nowt startling but we've had a lot worse....works hard, generally keeps it simple and doesnt try to do what's a bit beyond his abilities too often i.e. attacking...
  14. I lived on Easter Road around the time Keegan came back as manager. A highlight of my time there was watching Hibs and Aberdeen trading petrol bombs up and down the road after a game one Saturday evening. Hibs were handy too, well documented as you say in Welsh's first two or 3 books. Don't think he was involved too much in the violent stuff but he was "one of the lads" as it were. Hibs were as nasty as Aberdeen but lacked the numbers Aberdeen had. The rest were pretty much as you say, if there was something kicking off thered be no shortage of volunteers but little in the way of proper "firms". Aberdeen were the first organised "casual" firm in Scotland. When they played Liverpool in 81 European cup the trip to Anfield was an eye opener....Liverpool fans had been totalling posh boutiques on the continent for years and robbing stuff to wear at matches...in those days it was stuff like Benetton jumpers and Kicker boots, good quality bleached jeans, expensive, hard to find trainers etc...Aberdeen copied the style but got it completely fuckin wrong by paying for it all and going for a native Scottish angle (Pringle,Lyle & Scott etc) which made them look like the bastard offspring of Jimmy Tarbuck and Peter Alliss. But that all spread like wildfire and soon every footy lad in Britain was dressed as if he was on the 17th green at fuckin Wentworth
  15. You might find that the Debuchy thing is a done deal and Simpson knows it, its often the way....and thats why he won't sign a new contract because he knows he's being replaced.Out of interest whats Simpson done to upset you?...
  16. Rangers hooligan mob had strong links with the Chelsea Headhunters 20 odd years ago, so did the Hearts lot but on a lesser scale. In the league table of "tidy firms" they both lagged well behind Aberdeen and in their own city Hibs, as we found out at Tynecastle in 87 when Hib's CCS mob formed a "reception comittee" on Gorgie Road for Mags leaving the ground after a pre season friendly (Gazza scored the winner 1-0). Dont know how much of that still goes on, but its the same as most thug related shite; its not as common as it once was. My brothers father in law is a season ticket holder at Tynecastle and is the nicest man I've ever met in my life
  17. I've read this 3 times now and still can't quite take it all in It is the singularly most ridiculous thing I've ever had the misfortune to read. Looking at the time of post I'm going to be charitable and put it down to drink.
  18. Didnt they go to the wall because they couldnt pay the electric?...Scottish Power cut them off so they couldnt play any matches
  19. So your opinion is dont punish them for cheating?....that'll be a good deterrant to others. This is the biggest thing in Scottish football history and its going to sort some wheat from chaff but ffs any club that arises from the ashes at Ibrox cannot possibly be allowed to get off without any sanction, regardless of the effect on the other clubs. The other clubs know it and are being shamed into accepting it by other Scottish football fans and by the Scottish public in general. The other side of that is that its difficult to know the extent other the "Rangers/Orange Lodge/Masons/all bigots together looking out for each other" type mafia that pervades large swathes of public life in Scotland and to what extent the Scottish league is polluted by it. A a stitch up or contiued intimidation of league clubs by them is the only chance of any form of newco playing football in the name of RFC in Scotland next season. If the Rangers newco does find itself somehow playing league football next season then its probably the most shameful episiode in the history of professional sport in the UK.
  20. Is for me the correct punishment if the big tax case is proven against them, which wasnt much to do with the liquidation of the club. ...its at appeal at the moment, but the company that is appealing no longer exists..Expell them from the record books so the acheivements that they cheated in order to win can go to clubs who play by the rules. Let them play where they want after that.
  21. Are they shipping Chamakh out as well?....if they do they may need another....champs lge etc... Express saying Fergie wants Tiote and Cabaye. Beats me why Man U can't find players of that standard themsleves, regardless of the truth of the story, which is more than likely bollocks, but you never know. Manu's midfield needs something but its not really crying out for these two, unless theyre ditching Carrick and they want Cabaye in there. I'd imagine Fergie might like Tiote too but he likes lads with a good range of passing and thats not really Tiotes strong point.
  22. You not more pleased that the game at the stadio del shite is on the box?.....strange as a bottle of crisps.....

  24. No, not entirely. No one knows what will happen tbh. But this could open the floodgates. I do think thats a danger for various reasons as I've said. Its going through today so we'll see.
