  1. They have their way of doing things that are mostly unchanged since Dave Whelan's playing days. He said this in 2010: "Norman Deeley came right over the ball. Today he would have been sent off and banned for a long time. He came six inches over the ball, he came for me not the ball." I've got a bit of sympathy for the FA, they cant change the rules on a case by case basis. They need to be consistant. But when its consistantly poor it shows its an issue that needs to be addressed. They use video evidence when deciding if or when a red card could be recinded in conjunction with the ref concerned but they wont do it for an incident missed in the flow of the game. I can understand the distinction, but it hard to fuckin bare.
  2. Telegraph saying that the FA may be reluctant to dicispline Macmanaman; they dont want to set a precedent of "re-refereeing" games" and cite Ballotelli's challenge on Song last season as a case where nothing was done. Also possibly suing someone, it isnt clear who, because the lino did nowt. All seems a bit strange. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/9938902/Newcastle-United-may-sue-Wigan-Athletic-for-Callum-McManamans-horror-tackle-on-Massadio-Haidara.html
  3. Ticket not included. You'll need enough points to apply yourself. Or beg someone who has enough.... if you don't have enough points be creative to raise enough funds to tempt someone to flog you theirs..... sell a kidney or something,....
  4. Mackems game moved to fuckin midday on Sunday 14th April :/ Theres never been decent game of football that kicked off at 12 noon. Ever.
  5. Who said the manager needs sacking? Am reasonably happy with Pardew, hes as good as we'll get for the money, but he's limited. For the record am perfectly calm, my pulse rate is very low. Even when am adminstering the final cut to cheeky fuckers who patronise me, it rarely rises above normal I think we've played quite well in the last few games but not scored a lot of goals. That may not be enough for some but after our pre January travails I'll take it. As long as we're winning at the moment then style and scoring hatloads can wait until the squad is developed next season. After the first half yesterday if you'd offered me a point I'd have taken it with both hands and we were cheated out of it in the end. Cisse wouldve buried 2 of the chances this time last year. But we cant complain too much tbh. As 2J says, 5 first choice players now injured, its going to be a tricky end to the season iyam.
  6. If it was a level playing field and you were picking 4 centre backs to go to a finals in the summer, is Taylor one of the 4 best centre backs in the country?...not for me...
  7. Hes a cock. Two things...he's judging it from the standards of 50 years ago, and does he have a "duty of care" towards Haidara seeing as he's Macmanaman's employer?...
  8. He cant get any longer, its the law. This comes up every time, but it doesnt change, he wont get a longer ban. It was a red card offence in the eyes of the law so its 3 games.
  9. Thats the only comments I've seen on this that I've found offensive. What a strap on.
  10. The FA say though that retrospective only comes in for cases like yesterday, where it was missed by officials. If he'd got a yellow that wouldve been the end of it as far as punishment was concerned, which was the case with Ryan Shawcross v Arsenal wasnt it? I think manangers and players need instruction from the FA/refs as to what sort of force is considered proportionate in challenges. If the responsibility was on the club to prevent challenges like this and it was punishable by deducting a point or two, would we see a difference, or are they thankfully so rare that that measure would be going too far?
  11. Lawro says the same here: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/referees-getting-worse-football-gets-1771181 So explain to me why this mornings hysteria in the media isnt just a reaction to the weekend events? Theyve got to print or say something . You mentioned man city not getting a pen. It happens in every league, every week and it has done for 130 fuckin years. The explosion in football media jobs and the internet makes you think the way you do. The money men and those who respect them can go take a running fuckin jump for all I care. I'm in a minority and its coming, I do realise that. But it doesn't make it right. The worst thing about all this is the effect on Haidara's career and theres not a camera anywhere on the fuckin planet that can hlep the lad with that.
  12. Gouffran blocked the ref's view of it....do you want refs to guess at all decisons theyre not sure about? Halsey will be asked to review it today and the player will get 3 games for a straight red. Theres nothing in the rules that allows for longer.
  13. Load of old pony, reactionary tosh. I'm pretty fucked off that the linesman shat his kegs and said fuck all. At this level, they should work as a team. Halsey's been let down by him iyam.
  14. His view was blocked by Gouffran. He literally didnt see it. So how could Halsey have awarded it? The linesman on that side is different though...even at 20 yards, thats a red when your stood at the side of the pitch. So you want a video review for that, on the goaline too. Offside?...thats not opinion, your either on or off. Where the fuck will that end?
  15. Has there been any other fouls of this nature that went completly unpunished?.... Keane/Haaland: red Shawcross on Arsenal lad: yellow? Nolan/Anichebe: red any more?... Whether we like it or not, the game is full of men protecting their own and their clubs' best interests. Am surprised you're surprised tbh. Martinez has a dressing room to control and a relegation fight on his hands. He's not going to hang anyone out to dry regardless of what they've done.
  16. So now we should be playing like Barcelona? look, Pardew is limited but he's here to stay. What else is there to say?
  17. But everyone was happy after the transfer window,,,weren't they?....Pardew's not alone in this, a lot of managers are short of players in vital posistions. That's football. We weren't going to get a striker + 2 midfielders & 3 defenders in January. Am fuckin astounded we got all them tbh.
  18. Before today we'd won 4 from 6...wtf do people want? I'd love a better mananger than Pardew, tbh I don't disagree that hes made some funadamental mistakes this season but why cant allegedly sane and rational people get to grips with the fact that there is always going to be limitations on what we achieve and how we do whilst Mike Ashley is in charge?...Its going to take time, that's another one that people seem to ignore. We only spend what we take in, that limits us in comparison with the top of the league. Teams in this division don't lie down either, Wigan certainly didn't. Some people seem to think all we need to do is pick certain players in certain positions and we'll look like Brazil going forward and defend like Italy circa 1982 Zico, Baresi et al. Forget it. It doesn't work like that.
  19. Apologies. Maloney went to Wigan for more money. Seeing as Celtic are former winners of the European cup how does that feel?
  20. Caldwell didn't play and Malonely preferred Moscow to Glasgow...less crime, not as big a drug problem out there....
  21. This is brilliant....a middle aged Noelie in the crowd no doubt....with a young Howmanheyman sat on the cinder track in front of the Popular Side if I'm not mistaken http://www.britishpathe.com/video/f-a-cup-replay-newcastle-v-huddersfield
  22. You'll have to forgive some of us for actually giving a fuckin shit. Apologies.
  23. Aye, rightly so. They gained an advantage there and then. Take the Gravesen/Albert thing into consideration and they've fuck all to complain about, fuckin scouse mackems...
  24. Was it after we drew with them in September?...he was somewhat aggrieved that evening I seem to recall. NJS with a long memory seems to have taken the wind out of his sails anyway.
