  1. Not a big deal, Rob- http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?showtopic=28368 It's Siemens, btw or am I walking into a joke?
  2. "do-over"....Slack Americanism. I take it your not a friend of Bob? Had you pegged wrong, Parky. BTW... From- http://golf.about.com/cs/historyofgolf/a/hist_mulligan.htm Back on topic- was watching Sky on my way out of the house, they say the sale is final. The group that owns the Boston Red Sox are now owners of Liverpool.
  3. Wasn't the new stadium not getting built basically the catalyst for all this? (Well that and selling Xabi Alonso- whoops. Bet they wish they had a mulligan on that one.)
  4. Don't you have an 18th place club to support?

    hello.

I saw on the CNN ticker, "The Real IRA" this morning. What's with that? Is there a fake IRA or do you pronounce it, "ray-al" or what?
  6. I have to say, with the officiating in that match, I wonder why I even follow this league. What an effin' joke. Probably my biggest turnoff to football in general- it always seems like the refs are shit (see also World Cup). How hard is it to get people who can properly call most of a match? I realize people are human and will fuck it up from time to time, but Christ. It would have saved everyone (esp. Ben Arfa) a lot of time and heartache if the league would have just given City the 3 points and called it off since that's what was going to happen anyway.

    Dexter

Agreed. This second episode felt much more like the past seasons tonight.
  8. Colbert Report FTW if you ask me.
  9. I have the second episode on DVR- haven't seen it yet. First one was good though. Tons of setup, obviously so it's kind of slow, but I imagine once this series gets rolling its going to be really good stuff.
  10. Could be the fact that if PHM was a person, it'd be old enough to drink in the States now. Ghosts is what it is- background noise for when I'm painting or playing games or whatever. The Slip isn't bad, but it's probably my least favorite. Still really like With Teeth though. Only is good stuff, Don't You Know What You Are is good stuff, I like basically everything on that album but the title track. Is it legendarily good? No, but shit, it's better than most of what came out in 2005 in my opinion.
  11. I don't know man, I really got into it. And yeah, Downward Spiral and The Fragile are both better, but I don't think NIN have ever made a bad album, in my opinion.
  12. He gave away The Slip under Creative Commons. He's down with that kind of stuff. What random diatribe are you talking about? I've never really heard the guy speak out on much of anything other than the recording industry. I know he wasn't a big fan of Bush, but join the club, right?

And that briiiiiiiiiingssssss, uuuuuuussssss, baaaaaaaack, toooooooooo, doe, doe, doe, doe.
  14. Why you say that? I don't know a ton about him, I've liked NIN for a long time though.
  15. Man, oh man, first my favorite comic, The Walking Dead, ends up on AMC, now one of my favorite albums is getting the TV treatment! http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2010/sep/3...-hbo-series-nin Dunno if y'all got into the album and the ARG that accompanied it, but there was some interesting fiction being generated. I look forward to see how this turns out. I was working 16 hour days when it was actually going on, so I totally missed out on all the discovery stuff, but here's a link to the master wiki page that hits the highlights and also gives links for the details- http://www.ninwiki.com/Year_Zero_Research
  16. Wasn't a massive fan of his, but he was pretty funny on the Hasselhoff roast.
  17. What's the legal limit for drunk driving over there? Over here, if you're over .08 BAC, you're considered too drunk to drive.

From what I understand, there's already a couple of strip clubs there.
  19. This thread rules. I'ma have to get my folks to scan up an old pic of me. Lols...
  20. Given the fact they weren't "being open and wearing uniforms in a proper battlefield" or whatever it is you say about Muslims then I'd say yes. they may have saved someone you know, or you, being murdered. I suppose your reply says everything. Further debate is pointless. Their actions may have caused a retribution from the terrorists which lead to someone being murdered. Your argument is weak as piss. bollocks. They were deservedly shot. Whatever any further consequences. You can't allow shitbags like that to do what they were planning. You don't deal with terrorists. You don't get it. If you deal with them, they see it as weakness and attempt to "bargain" further anyway. So you don't believe in escalation? Terrorism doesn't work, it won't ever get the terrorists what they want. Neither does meeting violence with violence. The only thing that works is moderation and if you don't see that, you're as much a zealot as the people you rail against. WTF? Terrorism works like a motherfucker, man! Not for the terrorists, no, but for the defense contractors, clerics, polticans, mercenar- er, I mean, security contractors, media outlets, and the rest whose currency is the fearful and ignorant, it works quite effectively. (Totally see your point, btw)

    This. Hope it gets better.
  22. Is injuring yourself while going down to embellish a foul the height of irony or what?
  23. Wenger coughed one up this past weekend even. It happens. 35 points, boys. That's probably all NUFC need to stay up. Just 28 more points in the, what, next 32 matches?
  24. Not sure of the exact dimensions but theres been about a yard (basically you can still see the stripe where its been mown previously) sliced off the East Stand, not sure about the West. I never do understand how its ok to have different pitch dimensions, does it happen in any other sport? rugby? basketball? etc Baseball has different dimensions (don't know that they actively change based on opponent though- I don't think so). Only sport over here that doesn't have a standard as far as I know. Don't teams just usually move in the signage when Stoke comes to town? Like, not actually change the dimensions of the playing field, just move the LED boards closer to the sidelines so he can't get as long of a run? Wonder why that didn't happen. I haven't seen Krul play much, so I can't comment competently (never stopped me before, right? lol), but his long-ball game didn't seem to work well. As much room as Stoke gave NUFC's defense and midfield, seems like on the deck would have been the way to go rather than just turning over possession on nearly every goal kick. Easy to forget when he's playing well, but when Carroll is having an off-day/ is neutralized by the defense, NUFC doesn't have anyone to reliably pick up the slack. I didn't think Barton or Ben Arfa had particularly bad matches, and Jonas had a nice cross in, but there just aren't many legitimate scoring threats in black and white. On the plus side, Jose Enrique made Jones look straight up foolish several times. I thought NUFC passed the ball well in the first half too. Being a relatively new fan of the game, sometimes it's hard for me to tell the difference in a team playing badly and a team being shut down by it's opponents, but it seemed like after half-time, it was over for NUFC. Dunno if that was Pulis figuring how the right tactics or NUFC dropping off, but there was a vast difference in the halves. I don't like the idea of starting players without merit, but I think NUFC could do with some relatively static lineups for a few weeks- whatever those lineups may be. Give Ben Arfa and Tiote time to adjust to their new surroundings, and one could make a debate that as little as he's played prior to this season that Barton is practically a new player as well. Give those three time to gel and learn each other tendencies as well as the forwards they're feeding the ball to and the backs giving them the ball, and I think NUFC becomes a lot more consistent and less reliant on a particular player turning in a heroic effort for us to win a match. As it stands right now, they're mis-timing runs and making inaccurate passes in the middle where really knowing your teammates pays off.
