  1. Didn't the Mirror also say we were going to get Harewood a couple of days ago...
  2. There's no-where else where we'd rather be, than in the Leazes End, Where Geordies never end...
  3. The goal to seal our promotion.
  4. Can anyone find out who the free agents are atm? Be interesting to see.
  5. Exactly. NUFC.com did a piece the other week showing all the quotes from players who went on to leave. They were along the lines of: "NO WAY AM I EVER LEAVING NEWCASTLE, MAN. THIS IS MY HOME. NO WAY, MAAAN, NO WAY." And, it's only my opinion, but I think Enrique is woeful. He was shocking in the Premier League and can barely cope at this level, though I will admit that he has had one or two flashes of competence this season. He just can't pass a ball or pick up a man. Sorry like but Enrique has been very good so far this season and rarely does anyone get past him - as well as the excellent cover he provides for his centre backs (like last night - were you there?) Apart from Leicester's right winger about 3 times in the first 10 mins last night....so much so that fuckin Geremi of all players had to be moved on to that flank to help Enrique out....he's done ok but is exposed by anyone with the barest hint of pace...has been from the moment he stepped foot in the club. He's not likely to be up agaisnt pace like that every week so he'll probably do ok. He's still the only left back at the club Well, we have Ben Tozer (he was on the bench against Leicster so i suppose it counts)..
  6. You say that but what do you expect from a manager??? We are unbeaten in the league and the boys in the dressing room are 100% behind him. If he was our manager for this season i wouldn't be worried at all. I wouldn't really call him a manager first of all. But I was rather meaning for the future, say if we got promoted, I wouldn't want him in charge for the Premiership as last season proved he was tactically inept for that standard (although he did have big ego's to contend with then), only if he learns from this season and actually improves a canny bit from it, then maybe at a push but it's still not convincing, and then we could look to when we had Roeder in charge after a brief stint... As for Hughton though I wasn't expecting a great deal and he's definately delivered so far, and that's why I said he deserved the credit, because so far he has done a good job, but I don't think it'd work out permanently.
  7. We can sign players outside the window who are loans and free agents, so I'm not really getting my hopes up tonight as I really doubt we'll be signing anyone permanently this summer, which is understandable I guess with the wage bill we have/had.
  8. The singing section is definately better compared to what Level 7 used to be like (1 and a half blocks standing - over zealous stewarding etc) only 2 years ago, but now 5-ish blocks stand, and it's a great atmosphere usually most games. It's not really a criticism but I wish we had more colour up there (and in the ground itself), like the flags - people were taking them to home/away games last season after they were dished out and they looked good but people have seemed to have forgot about them, or just not taking them this year, which is a shame. But aye, I love L7 now.
  9. ...And this year we're top of the league - who would of thought it?!?
  10. I know I don't want him as permanent manager, and most likely most other people think the same, but he does deserve the credit so far this season.
  11. BBC at 11.15pm tonight. Usually SSN show the goals them after 10pm or something though.
  12. 03 May 2003 Birmingham City (h) 1-0 Viana I remember sitting with my dad in the SW (nearest to the gallowgate) corner chanting 'United', then Viana's free-kick before HT. I admit it wasn't that long ago (well, 6 years), but it was the first chance i got to go, and haven't looked back since then.
  13. Hopefully to announce that the club is sold. But being realistic, he'll just say that he's still trying to sell the club, X amount of offers etc etc.
  14. Nearly. Apparently someone who went to the box office today got told it was limited.
  15. RIP Sir Bobby Robson. True footballing (& NE/Newcastle) legend.
  16. What was the banner (what did it say), does anyone know, or got a picture of it?
  17. I don't get the obsession with building off-land. Well I know it's only Portsmouth and Barca so far, but.. I don't get it. Surely you'd rather have the Stadia as near (close) to the city centre as possible, so, Fosters for me.
  18. I've already renewed; Leazes Corner.

    Pre-Season

Utrecht is about 30 minustes on the train from Amsterdam (South) - I've been 3 times after meeting a couple of lads when we played PSV in 97 - will probably go again this time. Well, pretty close*
