  1. yeah http://www.toontastic.net/board/user/146-kitty-sniper/ this guy wasn't it?
  2. acting isn't his calling either.
  3. Didn't he do it again not that long after, and get away with it?
  4. "GREAT"/sadly fitting that this is the 15,000th thread on here btw. Forum started 9 years ago, Ashley took over 7 years ago, and we've been raging/despairing/fighting over him since he sacked Keegan 6 years ago. GREAT.
  5. I don't mind fancy dress as a rule. It's only a bit of fun. Mind you, a mate of mine is having his 30th at some joint in London in a few weeks and there's a "pet shop" theme. Fuck that.
  6. He might be a dick but I always thought it was harsh to send Dyer off for that incident. Steve Taylor on the other hand...
  7. I agree with the above. If we go down and struggle to come back up/become a yo-yo club over the next few years he might have other thoughts so there's some "hope" there I suppose.
  8. I find the whole thing a bit difficult to get my head around tbh. This is sort of how I think about it in my head: Either he knew it was her or he thought she was a burgler. If he knew it was her, it's murder. If he thought it was someone else, he still intended to kill them, so it's murder too... ..unless it's believed that he was sufficently in fear of his own life that he justafiably killed the supposed burgler pre-emptively, in which case he gets off. I don't get this halfway house of him being not guilty of murder but not quite justified in killing this supposed burgler in self defence and therefore getting a sentance someway in between.
  9. Thought it was going to be stuff like "that fence needs creosoting again". Gutted.
  10. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/records/averages/batting.html?class=1;id=2013;type=year Allowing for the fact he played fewer matches than the others, his record in 2013 (av 36) is very similar to Cook (31) Trott (37) and Bell (41). You could say that he's amongst England's best performers, I'd say that he doesn't stand out at all from our mediocre, frequently collapsing batting line up. When all our players produced in 2010-2011 we were the best team in the world but since then we've been wildly inconsistent. Part of this is due to our bowling attack lacking real Steyn/Johnson-like teeth at times but a lot of it is due to our fragile batting line up, that despite having 3 players with 100 tests under their belts still find stupid ways of getting out. Pietersen was definitely part of that problem, and if after Australia the selectors were looking to fresh things up, he apparently made it very easy for them to find someone to drop. Anyway, we'll see how it turns out, 2nd opener aside this England team looks pretty good but it's early days yet. I don't think the batting will radically improve to Bell and Cook are gone too tbh but the former had his 2013 Ashes and the latter is the captain, the record century maker, and nearly the leading runmaker so we'll have to put up with them for a while. As for KP to slightly paraphrase Boycott perhaps if he'd been working on his batting rather than his book then he'd be making a more compelling case for reselection.
  11. He seems to spend an awful lot of time coming up with this shit instead of, y'know, working on getting our team winning and shit.
  12. As I said, I don't know who or what to believe about the off field stuff but I know about the bit in bold. IF Pietersen was a complete cunt of the field he wasn't exactly making himself completely undroppable with his form on it.
  13. How much would Shearer cost today is kind of two different questions: 1. If the financial climate was the same in 1996, how much would Shearer have gone for? 2. If Shearer was playing in today's game how much would he go for? The answer to 1. is pretty straightforward - a bit more than the current record so £80-90 million. The answer to 2. is a bit difficult because he'd be playing against, playing with and being compared to completely different players - it's nearly 10 years since he retired and 20 since he was at his peak. With regard to his team mates, a big factor in raising his profile the golden boot at Euro 96 - given England's dismal record at tournements recently there's no guarentee he would have had the same success. I don't think he'd have been held in the same regard as Messi, Suarez, or Ronaldo and indeed I don't think he is by those outside of Newcastle. I still think he'd have been a great player, but one scoring 30+ several times in a row? Who knows.
  14. Vienna probably less overrun with stag dos etc. I'm off to Spain tomorrow
  15. I'm gonna automatically have less sympathy towards Kelly considering we've seen it all before. If she's hacked off at being hacked it will be because she's not been paid rather than because people have seen her nips again.
  16. I disagree it was purely for clashes off the field. He wasn't consistent enough to allow him to be such a disruptive influence. If he'd had the sort if summer Ian Bell had had last year I bet he wouldn't have been sacked. And to say he was unpopular is a bit of an understatement.
  17. Ballance looked like he could step it up once he got his eye in. KP COULD come in and quickly go through the gears but hadn't been doing much of that in the year before he was dropped. You can still have someone who's a weapons grade cunt but works well in the team, but no matter how good a player is, even if they are exceptional sometimes it's just unworkable. I don't know who or what to believe about just how bad KP was, but I think you have to say its equivocal at best whether he deserved to be binned, he certainly had previous anyway - I don't think he could have had too many genuine complaints had it happened after the SA/Strauss affair. The thing is though, KP wasn't exceptional - yes he was flash, but his record was nothing like that of Lara, Tendulkar, Ponting, Sangrakarra, Kallis. He wasn't even statistically the best batsman in the team compared to Cook. And since the Ashes he's made nothing like a strong case for his reselection. I was sorry to hear that he'd been sacked, but I don't think there's enough evidence to say it was a stupid decision.
  18. And anaesthetists are up there with psychiatrists for the specialty most likely to top themselves. I think the shrinks are more likely to have a go but we're better at getting the job done, as you'd expect really. I don't know NJS but I'm very rarely ill.
  19. I'm going to Spain on Friday...eek!
  20. I know, but it's more addictive than porn.
  21. I'll give it a go.. It is funny that I often find myself looking at porn out if boredom ie if I'm at home messing about on th Internet I'll check my emails, Facebook, BBC, here, guardian website, look at porn.. That really can't be healthy.
  22. What I'm thinking is "have you seen that black guy in Gone Girl? He's like you..but more black (he is)"
  23. A lot of that is very dodgy but seeing him take a photo is interesting..
