The thought did cross my mind 104640 Mine too.

I admit I quite like Motson, because he seems to do the big (and I mean BIG - England vs Germany 96, England vs Portugal 04) games better than anyone. In other matches he is a bit shit though tbh.

Not just when they're playing either. I'll never forgive him for his 'commentary' of the England-France match in 2004 "and it's Manchester United to Manchester United to former Manchester United" as the ball went from Neville to Scholes to Beckham. It's an England match! No-one gives a fuck! Oh, and the number of times he said "and they'll be singing 1-0 to Santini at Spurs next season", before France nicked it in the last minute. What a tit.

A chicken and a lion are debating who is the most fearsome. "When I roar", says the Lion, "the whole jungle trembles". "That's nothing" says the chicken. "When I cough, the whole planet shits itself".

Chin up 'special one'.

Lies! Although he did look quite "cool" Also don't forget Bowie made the classic "Hello Newcastle" remark at Roker park. Deserves some kudos for that. 102486 But he was a total cunt to John Peel. 102497 Was he? I didn't know that. I'm not supporting anyone who was a cunt to old Peely. 102499 Aye. John Peel invested time and money getting Bowie started, who never spoke to him again once he was big. Same with Marc Bolan, who practically lived with him. Peel stopped being mates with the bands he pushed after that. As much as he loved The Fall or Undertones, he hardly spoke to them outside of sessions. 102512 Don't remember him saying anything bad about Bowie in his autobiography like. He was really hurt about what happened with Bolan though. 102667 He wrote a lot about Bolan. As you say, that one seemed to really hurt. But I think he (or Shiela) also mentioned how he'd gone to a Bowie gig and couldn't even get to speak to him. Might have read it elsewhere though. This is all I can find.... link 102771 I can really feel the rage there. The only thing I remember reading about Bowie in his autobiography is something about him lending Bowie money for a taxi or something. I'd check but the book is at home because I've lent it to my mum. Of course, even if there is no mention of any animosity in there that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I'll never forgive agent McCarthy for fucking up so badly last year. 103558 Shirley it was worth them getting promoted just to see them completely humiliated again in the prem?

Oooh a potential fine, that will have Mourinho shitting his pants.

Although it's not essential I think his replacement should be a bit taller (one of the advantages of Ashton but it's not going to happen), gives us more options. (even though Owen is a canny header of the ball).

Of course we wouldn't, the bloke is a cunt but he's a good manager, if we won things under him I could accept his arrogance. However, he isn't our manager, my team isn't improving under him (although Chelsea are, so it's obvious why you like him ) so I do hate him. I should add I don't hate him because he manages Chelsea, before there's any talk of anti-blue tinted specs. I hate him because he's a cockend.

I think it's because they don't give them much thought. The backroom specialists meticulously analyse the batsmen's (ie 1-6) technique, find any weaknesses then come up with a plan to exploit these - a perfect example of this was Adam Gilchrist in the Ashes. He needs width so as soon as he came in we had Freddie bowling at him from around the wicket, giving him little width and cutting of his big scoring shots. I get the feeling England think 'oh the tailenders can't bat, our bowlers are so good it's inevitable so I can't be arsed to come up with a plan. Pub?'

I can't help thinking if J69 was delivering bad news to an alcoholic/smoker/drug user/fat person etc it would be followed by a "serves you right". He'd better watch his temper in the teaching profession too. 102581 Id like too in some cases but i do have a bit more compassion than that. Our Head consultant however. . . . his diagnosis for anyone with a bad hip/knee/ankle is usually 'you're obese' , and he tells them to their faces too 102586 Consultants have to be arrogant, it's the law. 102589 The one I was with in theatre today isn't too bad. He got all embarrassed when a patient praised him on a ward round. And he let me hold/cut/staple things, wheras the other surgeons I've come across just ignore us.

He looks scared.

Congrats mate. Why does everyone seem to want to be a teacher these days? At least five of my mates are doing PCGEs. I blame those misleading adverts tbh.

I feel your pain, Life on Mars is my favourite Bowie song.

On a pancake? That's just wrong.

Get over it....Bellamy is GONE I was glad when Kluivert scored against Chelsea but it didn't mean I wanted the guy to stay. If we still had Bellamy, we wouldn't have Owen. 100863 Why not ? 101051 Rather have Bellamy tbh. I see the usual people have never sorted out the truth from the shit they gobbled up from the Souness propaganda machine. The only twáts were Souness and his band of 'yes' men, Bellamy was a top player for us, doing far more for the cause of nufc than that twát Souness. 101054 oh god not all this again 101057 Sorry like, but it's never failed to amaze me how people who had nowt but praise for Bellamy for ages were so easily turned by the Souness propaganda machine. 101066 Maybe, but as neither Souness or Bellamy are at the club now does it really matter? I know asking this is pointless, but surely you and Leazes have noticed that even if people agreed with you before about this (as I did) are now bored shitless of you wittering on about it?

Pyscho is one of my footballing heros but at the moment I think we need someone a bit more tried & tested. Wouldn't be the worst appointment in the world if we couldn't get O'Neill/Hitzfeld though.

Anyone see them play at the NME awards on Friday? As they took to the stage, Doherty looked bit of a state (for a change!) and I thought, "great, Pete's going to embarrass himself again" but what followed was quite a delicate acoustic performance of 'Albion'. I suppose just because he looks wasted it doesn't necessarily mean he is. Kudos to the host, who responded to being called a 'cunt' by Bob Geldof with a classic putdown: "Bob Geldof knows all about famine; he's been dining out on 'I don't like Mondays' for the last 20 years'".
