I still wanna know what the story on DeJong is. Why is he not getting playing time if he is fit? When was Gouffran better than him to start in midfield? His resume shows he is a talented player and has some credits to his name. Also shows he's spent quite some time on the disabled list I know. But what's the problem, doesn't he look good in practice? Does McClaren not rate him or like him?

Newcastle V Norwich / 18th October / 4pm / SJP
Noelie replied to Anorthernsoul's topic in Newcastle Forum
Fucking amazing! Great win, but with that said, we are still very dodgy at the back, especially from set pieces and crosses from the wings. In reality, Norwich looked more dangerous going forward than we did and they had more shots on goal albeit we scored 6. Mitrovic's goal was a brilliant strike, Perez' was good but he needed 2 bites of the cherry to get his. Too bad Gini didn't get 5 to match Aguero. His shot from distance was classic. I'm still confused as to why DeJong doesn't feature hardly at all but is on the bench meaning he's fit, and he is a good player. Definitely fancy us against the Mackems after today's game. I would be suicidal if Fat Sam got his first win against us next week. -

I must admit to having a lack of confidence in winning this one. If I was in McClaren's shoes I'd be claiming someone put a voodoo curse on me and I need to see the witch-doctor. Which doctor? Cisse could probably give us a hint. -
Was Jonas paid his wages all through that period of time he is suing for? Just had a thought. Are foreign players issued a NHS number while playing in Britain and are they covered by the NHS or are they the responsibility of the Club? If they are hospitalized for a playing/training injury who foots the bill? If they are hospitalized for an illness who foots the bill?

Manchester City v Newcastle United 3/10/15 15:00 ko
Noelie replied to Haydnator's topic in Newcastle Forum
What am I missing? DeJong was on the bench meaning he's fit enough to play. Tiote was on the bench meaning he's fit enough to play. WHY did McClaren start Gouffran instead of one of those two? -

Back where we belong...........................on the bottom. Bright spot............Mitrovic scored. Dull spots..................Six of them Gouffran in the starting line-up was an omen..................bad things would happen. McClaren...............................No comment. -
Oh, Krul made some brilliant stops but he should have stopped that second goal. It didn't touch anyone before going past him and he should have had it covered.

Well now, I didn't end up on life-support at the infirmary but it was close. Credit to Mitrovic, got knocked about quite a bit but didn't lose his blob. Can't understand why McClaren chose Obertan ahead of DeJong in a game like that. Mbemba definitely a good buy. Mbabu looks like he can be an asset. Wijnaldum showed signs of what we expected. Sissoko was his usual hard work no result. Too bad we couldn't hang on for the win. We were a different team in the second half and let Chelsea control the game which was bound to spell disaster.

I have no hopes of any height. I expect to lose........possibly very badly. If we manage a point I'll be flabbergasted and probably injure myself by hitting the roof. If we get 3 points I'll probably wake up in the infirmary on life support after a heart attack. My bad dream starting line-up would include....... Eliot. Williamson. Obertan. Gouffran. Cisse. I am NOT looking forward to this match based on being as good as your last game. Oh woe is me.

Newcastle United v Sheffield Wednesday (League Cup) 23/9/15 7:45 ko
Noelie replied to Haydnator's topic in Newcastle Forum
C'mon man, is anyone really surprised we lost? Derby Co. fired McLaren for a very good reason, seems like he's going to give us a very good reason for following suit. 10 games?..........not too sure we won't end up winless in 10 with what's ahead of us. Pardew was pretty clueless in team selection, so was Carver, and now we have McLaren. I was never a fan of Carver but, had he still been in charge with the addition of Mbemba, Gini, Thauvin, & Mitrovic to the squad would we still be winless after 7 games? After all he came up with that win against West Ham which was a lifting experience for everyone. Where is Chris Hughton? -
Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team

With all dis-respect to Pardew, I think if he were still in charge, with the current players on board, we wouldn't be winless like we are now with McLaren.- 10610 replies

As far as I'm concerned, McLaren should be given a new umbrella and sent packing. Why did he start Cisse and allow him another ineffectual 45 minutes after last weeks dismal 90 before yanking him off. BIG game, BIG FUCKING LOSS. First half was reminiscent of last seasons abysmal performances. Second half was better but the damage had already been done. With the new signings I don't see much change in overall performance and I chalk that up to McLaren's obvious inability to get the best out of obviously talented players.

My preferred starters would be........................ Krul Janmaat - Mbemba - Colo - Haidara Thauvin - Gini - Sissoko - Aarons DeJong - Perez Colback Tiote Anita Darlow

I had concerns about the hiring of the brolly-boy and now my concerns are being accelerated. 4 new signings of supposedly talented players but things don't seem to have changed. Why did McClaren start Cisse? Why did he play him for 90 minutes? Why didn't he take him off at half-time? Couldn't he see he was ineffectual? Why did he start Anita instead of DeJong? Why didn't he start Perez instead of Cisse? Why did he start Thauvin on the left side? Is he a left-sided player? Didn't he play on the right last game? Why wait so long before putting Aarons on? That match was absolutely depressing, like much of last season. -

I would be tempted to start ................... Krul Janmaat - Mbemba - Colo - Haidara Thauvin - Gini - Coback - Sissoko Perez - DeJong -
We are all too young, yes including me, to really debate on who was our best goal scorer unless you look at the documented records because none of us ever saw him play for us. It amuses me to hear of Ferdinand, Shearer, Beardsley, Quin, Cole etc with no mention of 'Wee Hughie'. I think the records show that Hughie Galagher was the best centre forward that ever wore black n' white, check 'em out and see if I'm not right.

Newcastle United V Arsenal // St James Park // 12.45 KO
Noelie replied to Anorthernsoul's topic in Newcastle Forum
It was not a red card offence and I'm sure if it is appealed it will be rescinded. Haidara is the weak link in the back 4. Anita was off-key today, he should have been pulled earlier and DeJong sent in. Chauvin certainly shows great promise but the help and service was missing today due to the red card. Sissoko lacks the final finish. He had a good chance but shot wide. Too bad we had to account for the winning goal. -

I would go with...............providing Sissoko is fit. If not then DeJong in his place. Krul Janmaat - Mbemba - Colo - Haidara Thauvin - Gini - Sissoko - Aarons Mitrovic - Perez DeJong Tayor Anita Colback Tiote Darlow -
C'mon lads. with Genie, Member, Toevan, & Metrovitch signed on, and perhaps another one coming, let's cut Ashley a little bit o' slack for the harm he has done before. He might turn out to be what we all hoped for when he came.

I don't like our new shirts!!. At least from the back, they're all white with some stupid blue at the bottom. Where's our Black 'n White. From the back it looks like we're playing in white shirts.

Looking at the video, Lacelles looked so slow and didn't even attempt to stick his leg out to stop the shot on the second goal. I hope we haven't bought another dud defender.

Oh dear, Aarons limps off.
