I know it's pre-season, I realize that, but when Williamson is on the pitch for another 90 minutes I have to wonder what the fuck is McLaren thinking. He certainly isn't instilling confidence in me. DeJong looked mediocre. Sissoko worked hard but accomplished little, lost too many balls in his dribbles. Cisse didn't get much service. Anita was quite handy. Second half Sacramento looked the better team which isn't saying much for us. Haidara's red card was a bit harsh. They should have had a penalty.

How many one-club players are there around today like there was in 'my younger' days. However must consider that the wages in those days were far from what they are today, and transfer fees not even close. Sad part is, money doesn't always bring an end to a players loyalty. Wait a fucking minute, yes it does. but not always on the players part. Look at Steve Harper & loyalty. Harper would have spent his entire career at Newcastle had it not been for the management having no further use for him and kissing him goodbye.

I honestly think Mitrovic is an out & out mercenary fueled by his dad. I think they are just hedging, hoping a better deal for whatever reason will come along. If a better deal of their wanting doesn't come along Mitrovic will probably agree to the Newcastle deal but I wouldn't pin my hopes on it. And, as for Charlie Austin, where does the papers get their info on Newcastle's continuing interest in him when apparently(according to wor Les) no offer or bid has been made by Newcastle at any time. When an offer or bid has been made it is either accepted or rejected, and either way it hits the news so I guess wor Les is correct.

Pace isn't all that important for a central defender if he is a good game reader. Bobby Moore could just about keep pace with a herd of turtles, his strength was being able to read the game like no other.

Actually from..... Janmaat - Saylor - Colo - Lascalles - Dummett - Haidara + (Anita - Colback - Good - Satka) .....at the back we don't look altogether rubbish, and in the middle with....... Cabella - Tiote - deJong - Colback - Sissoko - Abeid - Gini - Rolando - Anita ............it doesn't look all that bad, and up front with............ Armstrong - Perez - Cisse - Riviere - Gouffran ...........we're not looking altogether gash BUT, it certainly would help if we did get a central defender and striker across the line as I would be very unhappy if we didn't sign anyone else that would strengthen us.

If yer gonna give players a run-out in pre-season games why did McLaren play Willo & Lascells for 90 minutes? Aren't Colo - Saylor - Good - etc in the squad? Why didn't he give them a run-out? He took out Janmaat & Haidara to put in Biggy & Fergie so why not give other defenders a run-out instead of sticking with those two clod-hoppers?

Probably not, but I guess I can't understand McLaren playing Willo for 90 minutes. You don't need that long to see he's nee good.

Must say that any confidence I had in the brolly-boy just took a dip. To start Willo and leave him on for 90 minutes in a losing pre-season match does not instill faith in he "knows what he's doing". I hope to God he's not considering Wilo and Lascells as his central defenders. Other than Krull he didn't make any changes until the 72 minute. Too late Nathan.

C'mon, give BenArfa a break. He could have been brilliant for us as glimpses showed. Problem was Pardew who couldn't manage him in a manner to get the best out of him. Hughton brought him in and would have probably done a better job of handling him but it wasn't to be.

Seems like his dad is the stumbling block. His agent indicate he's gonna sign and his dad is saying they're waiting on other possible bids. Seem to remember Saylor's dad poked his nose into signing issues at one point in time.

Can't say I was surprised as when I saw the enthusiastic singing of the national anthem by every Italian player, and the insipid way our players sang ours, I thought they're gonna win this one. I had to wonder if all our players even knew the fucking words to our anthem.

I wouldn't but I'd be really pissed off. The 2 from Forest will be considered new signings, you can bet on that.

McLaren could really endear himself to a lot of fans if he would off-load Willo & Obertan before the season starts. And just think what his stature would be if he brought Jonas back for one more season. Might not strengthen the team but would strengthen a bond with a host of supporters, me being one of them.

Now we all know John Carver was the best coach in the league, c'mon man he told us so. So, where will the brolly-man rank himself behind Carver. I'm a little fussed about this shooting for 8th place, what does 8th place achieve other than 8th place. Surely the target should be higher than that to cement European competition.
