Actually I feel a little sorry for Carver, his heart was in the right place but his head was on another planet when he was thrust into Pardew's place. He relished the opportunity, did his best, but sadly his best was abysmal and fell way short in every aspect required of the job. In reality, he should never have been given the job in the first place and that fault lies somewhere upstairs. Poor man tried, but he just didn't have the qualifications nor expertise to handle the job facing him, but he thought he did.

If it's to be McLaren there's not much anyone can do about it other than be pleased, angry, or just don't give a shit one way or the other. Personally I don't think McLaren is much of an improvement in caliber as opposed to Pardew. He would certainly not be an inspirational signing we would all like, but certainly an improvement over Carver. Being sacked by Derby Co. speaks for itself, and his fame at Boro came from Cup runs not Premier league positions. Let's face it, the reality is that whoever it is will have to be somewhat of a puppet.

It's fucking hilarious that the media say Carver guided Newcastle to safety in the last game of the season. For fakes sake, Hull City has the credit for doing that, it didn't matter if we won or lost as long as Hull didn't win their last game, and they didn't. I suppose you could credit Carver for us finishing above Blunderland.
-
Well that does it. How the hell can a 2nd tier team like Derby attract and sign Clement? Well that's easy to answer isn't it, Derby aren't governed by the likes of Ashley & Cohorts. I think the tea-lady might be our best bet.

Like Ant's dad, I rate George Best above Pele and Maradona. Pele and Maradona had great attacking and goal scoring qualities and so had Best, but Best had great defensive qualities too which can't be said of the other two. I think Bobby Charlton has always been underrated in the table of best players. In the days of 5 in the forward line Bobby played in all but the outside-right position. On top of that he was real quality in a mid-field position.

More than likely it was Jonas' wages that were the reason for his end of contract release. Personally I think he should have been given another season in a black n white shirt, he deserves it for his whole-hearted efforts since the day he arrived. He is still a force to be reckoned with either as a starter or substitute. Unfortunately loyalty to loyal players is not part of todays NUFC make-up. I extend my very best wishes to Jonas, I hope there are better times ahead for him., and I appreciate the time he spent with us. I hope Charnley's knackers turn square and fester at the corners.

I understand that Fenwick's have placed an order to increase their Umbrella stock. Do they have inside information on what's in store.

Not sure I could feel good about a coach or manager who stands on the touch-line with a brolly. I mean...c'mon....a cap, a trilby, a beret, a hoodie, a sou'wester.......but a brolly.

I think Jonas should be given an extension to his contract based on his recent performances, especially todays. Perhaps at a reduced salary if he is willing to stay and take a cut. If anything, he would be an asset as a substitute if not a starter.

Newcastle United vs Fat Sam's Bubble Blowers 24/5/15
Noelie replied to Haydnator's topic in Newcastle Forum
Honestly, I wouldn't have bet a penny on us beating West Ham today. Credit to the lads for putting in a decent shift for a change. Full marks to Riviere for not scoring, wor lass, even the bairn, would have scored that sitter he missed. Well done Jonas, too bad he didn't have his mask. Where was Perez? Too bad he didn't get a kick in the final match. Carver is the best coach in the League(well he told us so didn't he) Andy Carroll would have mixed emotions about this game(or would he?) First time I've ever seen such a blatant 3 to 1 on the keeper and the keeper coming off best. Ashley? well I saw his first time TV interview, did you? -
I feel confident that if we lose to West Ham(and we probably will).... hopefully Hull lose or draw with ManUre, allowing us to escape relegation..... John Carver(genius that he is), will claim credit for keeping us safely in the Premier league, bestow praise upon himself for his efforts, and re-acclaim that he is the best coach in the league.
-
For me, it isn't about Ashley, the management, the coaching staff, it's about my team, my club. In my heart I want to be in the Premier league, playing at the top level against the teams who merit being there. In my head I think that if we can't beat the bottom team who are already relegated, then we deserve to sink with them. Another reason for wanting them to remain in the Premier league is purely selfish. I have seen every game live this season be it on TV or on my computer and would expect to continue doing that if we stay in the Premier league. One way or another ALL Premier league games an be viewed in California. However, not so in the Championship, some games are shown but not all, and no guarantee that Newcastle will be the one picked for viewing.

C'mon man, he's a Geordie, perhaps a decent, likable bloke, probably married with children and liveing in a modest home but.......................would someone please stick the loaf on this clueless, underachieving, incompetent twit.
-
When all's said and done, I kinda knew Carver would fuck it up with his starting line-up, and he did. Now we can only hope(pray), that ManUre don't fuck it up by letting Hull win, sending us down. I don't for one minute think we'll beat West Ham(I didn't think we would beat QPR)
-
My biggest concern about the QPR match, is that Carver may well fuck it up with his starting line-up and then completely fuck it up with his substitute changes. I believe he should start.................... ............................Krul Janmaat.......Colo.......Dummett..........Anita. Cabella......Sissoko.....Colback........Jonas. ....................Cisse........Perez. I think Anita has functioned a little better than Raylor in a full-back position, and Raylor isn't really accomplishing anything on his set-piece kicks. Bench......... Abeid. Aarons. Ameobi. Gouffran. Woody.
-
Jesus Christ.
-
Actually watched them get hammered by Man.City today and QPR didn't look that bad. Despite the one-sided score, if they play as well as they did they will make it difficult for us to get 3 points. Man.City just had too much class & quality for them.
-
Astounding!! In a filmed press interview how the fuck can Carver say Riviere was astounding today. I want some of what he's on.
-
Well at least it wasn't 9 in a row but the game was there to be won. QPR will be the decider I think and we should get a win if we play like today. Hull shot themselves in the foot losing to Burnley. Who expected Blunderland to beat Everton 2 nowt?
-
Anything goes, I wouldn't shirk from giving Chucky a try and I could opt for using reserve team defenders. As it is, based on who we know are definitely available I would start with........... ........................Krul. Anita........Colo........Colback.......Raylor. Cabella.....Abeid.......Sissoko.......Jonas. ................Perez.......Riviere. Colback has played at fullback so he might just fill in at centre-back for one game. Raylor has played left back before.

With Janmaat, Willo, and perhaps Dummett, out for the West Brom match leaving Colo as the only bonafide defender available, makes me wonder as to the capabilities of defenders Gillesphey, Sterry, McKinnon, & Satka from the reserve team. It seems to me that established, match fit, defenders, albeit at reserve team level, could prove to be a better option than having first team squad members playing in positions they are not familiar with or used to.
