  1. I'm reading on BBC Sports that Keegan is saying there are signs that Zoggy is unhappy at Newcastle and he may be away in the summer.
  2. I honestly believe that the influx of so many foreign players into English leagues is detrimental to the progress of English players as a whole, especially at National level. Granted it may provide better viewing entertainment for spectators and perhaps be more economical for the clubs to bring in foreign players, but what does it do to benefit the growth and progess of our youth and sustain our national team. When you look at the power-house nations such as Argentina, Brasil, you will see that the traffic of players is opposite to ours and there has to be a message there. Consider how many Argies and Brasilians are playing in Europe as opposed to how many Europeans are playing in South America. How many Englismen are playing abroad because they are good, and wanted? Sure, other countries have foreign players in their midst but not like us. I have seen Chelsea and Arsenal field teams that did not have 1(one) British player among them. Notice I said British rather than English to make a point.
  3. All over them in the first half but nothing to show for it at the break. Seems to me I've watched this scenario many, many times over the years. With all the pocession we had in the first half we really didn't look that threatening and in truth, the odd time Boro approached our goal I was biting me nails. Another match we should have won and very nearly lost, another disappointing result. I'll never get used to it and god knows I've had plenty of time, it hurts now as much as it did 60 some years ago when you lose points that should have been in the bank.
  4. Thing is, I think we are playing better football now and beginning to look more organized but lack that cutting edge in front of goal. If we play as well against the Boro as we have with Arsenal we should pick up 3 points. Discounting the probability of any new players coming in during this window I think it's fair to say that when we get the players back from Africa and Keegan has the roster he inherited available we can expect the improvement to continue getting better.
  5. cheeky get! thats wor lass Hoyman, aa hopes she kin cook an' is good in the sack how dare you. sometimes i have to hit her over the head with a newspaper when she drags her arse along the carpet. Now now, you shouldn't resort to cruelty no matter what

  7. Is there any truth in what I've read on Sky Sports, Keegan is shocked and in the dark about the signing of Wise? Surely Mort and Ashley wouldn't do that without consulting Keegan, would they?
  8. HUH! I'm reading on Sky that Keegan was 'shocked' and 'in the dark' about the signing of Dennis Wise. Is this for real?
  9. Wow, did you see the knockers on that one!!
  10. Not pleased with the result but quite pleased with the first-half performence, for a change we looked more like a decent football team. Don't know why he replaced Enrique with Rozey, I thought Enrique was doing alright. Duff had a good game. Zoggy was not as good as he can be. First goal should never have been. the defence should have cleared that rebound easily.
  11. Whatever the reasons, I think it is a shame that Shearer is not joining as assistant manager to Keegan. for it would provide him with invaluable experience and exposure to a position he may oneday be asked and wish to take. It would give him great exposure as to how Ashley and Mort percieve things and what they expect, two men who have made it clear they prefer someone with experience, and what better place than St. James' Park, and who better to gain experience from than Kevin Keegan.
  12. You know, in retrospect I think it would be advisable to stay clear of signing new players from Africa and South America unless you wish to open the door to mass exodus the way Allardyce did for us. Africa and South America have their own competitions that take players away from their clubs more often than European countries do. Look at how many times Nobby Solano was taking off and how it got up Bobby's nose.
  13. No reflection on Keegan due to the absense of players but this was another game we should of won and didn't. In fact we never looked as though we could, lots of possesion but no real threat on goal. 2 points frittered away. Ameobe lived up to my expectations which aren't very high on his ability. Owen didn't do much but then he didn't see the ball much. Duff was flat, kept running into nowhere or into somebody and not causing too meny problems for them. Milner was flat and had another one of his ineffective non productive games. N'Zogbia was flat and did not have one of his more effective games. Rozenhal did alright out of position but his final passes weren't the best. Enrique is promising at left-back but is a little too nonchalant in his efforts. Carr lived up to my expectations which aren't too high for him as a right-back. Cacapa did alright but scares me sometimes with his movement. Taylor scares me a lot in a bramblesque way but he did alright. Given, Man o' the Match for his last face-saving save.
  14. Er .... ahem, can this to be construed as a confession Mr.T-Keith?
  15. Holy zulu. that sounds like a tribal threat from a Biggmarket warrior if ever I heard one.
  16. Much obliged squire.... mmmmm, would have thought he was a rabbi
  17. How did Enrique do against Stoke? didn't get to see the match making it number two I haven't seen this season. Did sit at me computer though and follow the game by text on BBC sport but that really doesn't give you a clue as to how its going.
  18. I don't think they are. 'As bad as they have been playing' is something I blame Allardyce for. His continuous playing of people out of position, questionable starting line-ups, questionable substitutions, and questionable reasons why he wasn't giving certain players more playing time, did not do anything to motivate the team to perform as well as I believe they were capable of.
  19. 4-1 win in an FA Cup replay is a good springboard for wor Kevin, spirits high all around. Come-on Bolton.
  20. What would please me is; 1: Bobby Robson is brought back as a short-term consultant, say for 6 months. 2: Kevin Keegan is brought back as manager on a short-term basis, say 12 months to straighten us out and groom the next manager with an option to extend his stay in some capacity.. 3: Alan Shearer is brought back as asst. mgr. on a short-term basis, say 12 months to help straighten us out and be groomed for the manager's job, with an option to extend his stay if promoted to manager. 4: All the flotsom accumulated by Allardyce in the backroom be thrown overboard if not useful. 5: All contrcts be made to exclude ridiculous pay-off payments. 6: Ashley should act on my advice. 7: And so should Mort.
  21. I say ...YES YES YES Do I detect a tribal uprising or something a little queer here.
  22. Or you could just be an all round footballing God like Cruyff. Aye I'm willing to bet he got a pretty decent grounding in coaching, playing in those Ajax and Holland teams mind. You'd have to be retarded not to in fact. It's a known fact that the best players don't always make the best managers regardless of their exposure to and experience in the game. Ones that quickly spring to mind are Billy Wright(some of you young'uns won't know who he was like), Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst, and even Wor Jackie didn't cut the mustard in management.
  23. At least he doesn't constantly chew like a cow and sit in the stands until half-time like Allardfyce did and that's a plus. What he'd be like at knocking us into shape is anyone's guess. As a player he was miles ahead of Allardyce, maybe as a manager too.
  24. Not really, we're still holding in 11th place because the teams below us aren't winning games either and if that keeps up we should remain safe so let's keep our fingers crossed and maybe pick up a couple of points from the Boro and the Mackems.
  25. Enrique had a half-decent game today against Man.U which in my mind is proof once more of how clueless Allardyce was in playing Zoggy out of position at left-back after paying out good money for enrique.
