  1. connected with that beautifully
  2. Fulham have started pretty well
  3. Close to signing for Leicester! surely he must be a gamble too far!? he's 37, hasn't played for a year and would surely command high wages! Seems like a daft signing to me!?
  4. well said, it must surely be the same thoughts as any Newcastle United fan
  5. Just read on the Beeb actually that Taylor and Colo will still be out. So It will be the same back line we had against Forest.
  6. Is there any team news ahead of the game? I'd be tempted to start with Jonas instead of Lovenkrands who did practically nothing against Forest. The front line needs a look as well, Harewood needs dropping to the bench after that performance
  7. Couldn't have said it better. Appointing Hughton full time means relitively little. He wouldn't remain manager should we ever be taken over (you'd expect).
  8. as has been said in this thread, its hilarious that clubs are so obsessed calling us self deluded yet they take so much of their own time to write such daft articles or sign up to our forums trying (and failing) to be WUM's Bless him though he tried to wind us up with the notts forest dig, blissfully ignoring the fact that bristol city will never be as big as either NUFC or NFFC.
  9. unfortunately not the only brewery to be moved away from its spiritual home. However has an ale with a place name ever been moved before? most probably like!
  10. I'm very sceptical with ITK's as you know smoggeordie. However if it is true then thats a massive concern!
  11. I found when he was talking to grass roots religious types he can come across as very arrogant and inconsiderate. I feel that as the defacto spokesperson for atheism he should try and temper his zeal as it more often than not masks the message. I've no problem with his superiority squashing religious-types who've elected themselves as spokes people for their given faith. fwiw I think anyone is entitled to be angry or intense about religion. It is our ancestors response to the unknown and its appearance is reasonable given what was understood back then. Dawkins is the leading voice on asking people to wake the hell up and stop indoctrinating children with their own narrow beliefs. This is probably the point which he is most furious about and I agree. Segregate your children, no matter how wacky your beliefs, force it on them and shove them to the margins of society. For what? Tradition? Heritage? Heaven? Thor has a hammer, your god was nailed to a cross. The whole thing would be hilarious if it wasn't so terribly tragic and embedded in our species forever. dammit, I have work to do. Agreed, I read the end of faith a couple of months back by sam harris. Got a good review from Dawkins also which was partly the reason why I bought the book. Currently reading The Family, The book written by Jeff Sharlet about the christian mafia. There was a thread about it on here a while back thought it sounded unbelievable so I had to get it and give it a read. Bloody heavy reading at times though

Going to see a band called Exit Calm http://www.myspace.com/exitcalm Saw them support The Music a couple of years back at Newcastle Uni. Looking at the cluny website, nine black alps are playing their a few days before hand as well! wouldn't mind seeing them! Thanks for the heads up about the venue though should be a good night

    The Cluny

Been to the pub a couple of times but thinking of going to a gig there in November, I've never seen a gig there and was wondering what it was like if anyone had? Read that they've just put a new load of amps in there too

    Sam Vokes

he's not amazing but he would surely score a couple goals for us, bring him in for a couple months
  15. In my book, it does. Standing for 90 minutes and singing is what makes us stand out from other clubs. I agree with Acca that they deserve priase for making the journey, but I just don't get the mentality of people who just stand still throughout the game. When Reading came to SJP and sat down and didn't sing for the whole game, I felt sorry for them and wondered what they get out of following their team. We need to get the atmosphere buzzing again at Blackpool (though it'll be hard with no roof). thats ridiculous!? Just becuase you don't sing it makes you less of a fan. I know and i'm sure you do, people who've been going to the games home and away for year who don't sing! No lesser than any other fan!
  16. So turns out SWFC are bringing 2800ish fans. not the 4,000 they were quoting, I was wondering how it would be possible for them to take over the initial allocation
  17. Think we're heading to london bridge.
  18. how are our sales going for the game? For what its worth I have nothing against Sheff Wed, and they will bring a lot of fans on Wednesday just like we will take down on boxing day. Should be a good game: nufc 2-1 swfc
  19. according to a couple of WBA fans, Baggies are also interested
