  1. Someone could also point out that all the problems we have today go back to that cunt on the right gaining power in 79.
  2. I'm going to continue my 3/4 yearly going to an actual game thing - mate has offered me a ticket for West Ham next month.
  3. It's the usual yes, but I'd send the other bloke off for being a cheat.
  4. I hadn't realised that save/near miss was after the equaliser - sweet.
  5. We're a lot harder to beat and a lot more organised than we were but the same old problem remains - creation and taking of chances. I really hope we sign at least two attacking players before the deadline.
  6. I'm sure there's an argument using calculus you could make for an infinite number of holes making up a cylinder.
  7. True - perfectly parodied in This is Spinal Tap with the 60s flashback.
  8. In the army now was the only decent song they ever did in my opinion - maybe they should have tried different ideas like that more often.
  9. I had a full on golliwog as a Teddy when I was a bairn - couple of years before she died my Mam bought me a new one for my birthday - fuck knows where she got it from. Didn't have the heart to tell her how "wrong" it was. I think I still have it in a box in my garage - might need it when the tories come to put me in a re-education camp so I can prove I'm not woke.
  10. As if them being cunts has ever mattered.
  11. I've said before the alternative candidates were dross. Cooper as the best of a bad bunch may be "competent" or whatever phrase it is they use but she was also a fan of benefit and immigration clampdowns and her flagship policy was expanding Sure Start rather than Corbyn's albeit over-extending suggestion of actual socialism.
  12. It's a fucking golf course.
  13. I know it's how it works but my concern is not getting any more/all of the signings in before games are played - being harsh we're playing 4 or 5 games in a kind of twilight zone of possible dropped points but for 1 or 2 better players. I know those games include 2 which are probably write-offs anyway being pessimistic but still....
  14. I thought he was from Redcar but close enough.
  15. Just renewed my passport as it was expiring in October and it arrived today - only took a week so not sure about the horror stories in the press - maybe if there's a glitch it all goes tits up. And they're definitely black not blue.
  16. Wearside Jack for Sunderland surely?
  17. Haven't been there for years but a visit to Ocean Road that doesn't include The Star of India seems remiss.
  18. "Hugely popular" with all the snide cunts he's done favours for as well as the eternal 6 point gifts but hated by the fans of every club the cunt has polluted.
  19. Fundamentally it's "good" that Centrica's shareholders get larger dividends but "bad" to increase workers wages. That's the message drummed in over 40 years and nothing will improve until its tackled. Two years ago we made a couple of hundred people redundant to cut costs as shareholders had been promised a certain figure for returns - I suggested to a couple of people we could keep the staff and offer 3 or 4 percent less and I was either laughed at or looked at like I was insane. Greed is good when it comes to profits but evil when it comes to costs.
  20. Reeves made anti-trans comments last week which is supposedly against Labour policy without a word being said. Then she said nationalisation was out across the board only for them to have to backtrack and say railways was still policy. Not a fucking word.
  21. Absolutely not at all - I think there was/is a lot wrong with the EU (See Greece) but I was a strong believer in being in and pissing out. I think Blair said that in the context of Corbyn but he said it in general terms as well - I'll have a look. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/tony-blair-says-he-wouldn-t-want-a-leftwing-labour-party-to-win-an-election-10406928.html Fair enough he doesn't mention the tories, just a Labour victory but still. I understand his point about what he thinks works but disagree - I don't think the formation of the NHS would have passed his test.
  22. Voting Labour in the hope they'll be "decent" and open the door to moving leftwards is a lie. See the Democrats under Obama and even worse Biden and to a lesser degree New Labour - NL did do some good things but did nothing to change attitudes to smearing the concept of socialism - as illustrated by Blair's quote about preferring a tory government to a left wing Labour party. I'm not as focused on the brexit side of things as Rayvin - I think across the board labour under Starmer will be no different to the tories.
  23. They haven't realised Almiron replaced Murphy....
  24. Not a cultist but on nationalisation the membership reflects the electorate a lot more than Starmer.
  25. Given his appalling approval ratings I wonder how long it will be before someone uses the phrase "unelectable".
