He'll cost more than £6m. Wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea hold on to him.

That's as maybe but with the new boss coming in I can see him wanting his own players and that's just going to push young Sturridge further down the pecking order.

Just thought I would add this:

21.01 Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko is in demand, according to his agent. “The link with Lyon is serious, but it is not the only one,” he said. “There are also negotiations with Liverpool, Newcastle and Inter. Things should seriously move next week.”

From Soccernet's live transfer blog, http://blogs.soccernet.com/onthemove/archi...f_a_downing.php

The player was previously linked to us in 2008, don't know much else about him.

If this was in more than the Sunday Mirror, I'd be worried.

Newcastle are attempting to hijack Darron Gibson’s proposed £5million move to north-east rivals Sunderland.

The Manchester United midfielder has been given permission to open talks with Sunderland after the Premier League champions accepted a bid last week.

But Newcastle boss Alan Pardew will match Sunderland’s offer in the next 48 hours and attempt to persuade Gibson to snub their arch-rivals.

The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international accepts he has no future at Old Trafford.

Yet he remains undecided whether joining Sunderland, managed by former United defender, Steve Bruce, is the right career move.

Imagine spending £5m on him, an average player in a position we don't really need to strengthen.

I don't mind Gibson, he's scored a few absolute belters but he's a bit slow and goes missing in games. Like a better version of Guthrie. 5 million is a bit much but considering Henderson cost 20 million its not too bad. As you say though, not the most pressing position we need new players in.

Pardew wants Treacy.

Hope you buy him for £30m, as at least 20% will go to us! You could do better than him. He was like a more lightweight, inconsistent version of Keith Gillespie when he was at Blackburn and I don't think he's improved much. Makes me think Jonas might be off if this is true, as Keith is a left winger.

Treacy is pretty rubbish from what I've seen, barely championship quality. Could only be backup I'd assume.

Treacy is gash.

Whens this Naylor deal gettin done or has that died a death?

Linked with another CM today...and a quality one...Moussa Sissoko. His agent is quoted saying "in negotiations with newcastle" as well as liverpool and inter. No chance then.

Apparently his 1m release is worded similar to Phi Jones, and Swansea say it only allow us to talk to him.

Not happening now.

Dont quite understand whats went on here. One minute its about to be confirmed then theres dispute about the release clause and now Swansea have officially said he is staying and play a big part for them.

Not arsed really. I dont like the welsh. ;)

Likewise, though if I'm honest I think we should test this 'wording' in the contract legally just for the sake of it, just to stick one on Swansea ;)

About time we had another through the doors. After the manic excitement of a few weeks ago its all gone quiet.

Even the ITK's seem to have given up.

However Mike Ashley has apparently flown in today so something may be close. Even Mark Douglas thinks we might have another signing in before Monday.

Like the next one to be a biggy.
