The club have said they want to keep the best players and progress.

The club have said they want a stadium sponsor other than Sports Direct.

Take it all with a pinch of salt.

Few stories this morning saying that Reading are interested in Simpson but it all depends on whether Debuchy signs first.

Also Rhodes is apparently at the Millenium Hotel next to the Mad Stad. :unsure2:

Brock couldn't face the idea of not being the one to share something Reading-related on here, even if it was several days too late to do so...

;)

The tweet says he's more likely to sign for NUFC, Mong Transfer.

Tavernier has signed a new 3 year deal.

Reading interested in Simpson.

When asked if he was interested in signing Salford-born Simpson, McDermott replied: "I know Danny really well and he's a good player. He's been talked about a lot but he's Newcastle United's player at the moment. We've got targets in mind and we will be pursuing those."

Guthrie making noises about recommending Simpson to the club and Reading need a RB.

If we sign Debuchy it won't really matter. I like Simpson but he's just not good enough if we're to progress on from last season and Perch has in a way shown that Simpson wouldn't be missed if he was to go.

Dummett, Inman, Richardson, Newton and Tavernier all sign new contracts (first four get a year extension, Tav gets 3 years).

Congrats to the lot of them, would be delighted to see them prove their worth either for us or at Championship level for a few months or for the entire season.

Gael Bigirimana of Coventry City is just about confirmed, it's on .com now. Apparently he's not ready for the Prem yet according to a Coventry fan on F365 but he's really promising, only 18.

Couple of youngsters (and Amalfitano) in early doors and real movement going on to quickly bring in our main targets (the likes of Debuchy etc).

Liking it so far, want new first teamers in as soon as possible though so they can get involved in pre-season.

I really like the focus on youth we seem to be taking right now. Buy young, quality players, have them in our system for 1-3 years before they break into the first team so they become an institution at the club. It's a great way forward, and much better than what we had even 2 years ago.

First thing's first, hone that hairdo into a B.A. Baracus mohican and then have him spend every waking moment with Tiote before the £18m deal with ManUre goes through.

Oh fuck off man it's getting boring now. IF a big IF Tiote was going to go why the hell would we sell him for more or less half of what Caroll went for??!?

Whilst it's a great policy to have, we've yet to really see any of the youngsters come through and hold down a first team spot.

Sameobi had a few games before he got injured and we tried to push through Vukic before he went on loan. Soopa Shane only appears sporadically too. It looks like we're still some way away from producing a premier league - capable player through our youth set up. Hopefully Tavernier will be given a go and show why he's been so highly rated (I've never seen anything but he seems to be billed as a player with good potential).
