I like Simpson but he's just not good enough if we're to progress on from last season and Perch has in a way shown that Simpson wouldn't be missed if he was to go. Congrats to the lot of them, would be delighted to see them prove their worth either for us or at Championship level for a few months or for the entire season. Buy young, quality players, have them in our system for 1-3 years before they break into the first team so they become an institution at the club. It's a great way forward, and much better than what we had even 2 years ago. Whilst it's a great policy to have, we've yet to really see any of the youngsters come through and hold down a first team spot. Sameobi had a few games before he got injured and we tried to push through Vukic before he went on loan. Soopa Shane only appears sporadically too. It looks like we're still some way away from producing a premier league - capable player through our youth set up. Hopefully Tavernier will be given a go and show why he's been so highly rated (I've never seen anything but he seems to be billed as a player with good potential).
