We've got all the momentum plus the least pressure on us compared to those around us. And we're winning games when we don't play that well.

I was watching the chat on here earlier during the game almost expecting us to score even though it sounded like we were playing crap. Can't remember the last time I had this confidence in the team.

Lets say we did get into Europe. Europa League or Champions League, we would seriously need to sign some quality players. There are going to be a few leaving in the summer and we will need to sign some real quality. We have little squad depth.

How is there not much chance of 4th? We were 5 points away from 4th 2 days ago and are now level on points with Spurs who are stalling horribly. Seems a bit daft to write it off.

I just think with the goal difference and the run in of the teams between 3rd and 6th we're definitely the team that is up against it, so while we have a chance I don't think it's much of one and it's going to take a few shock results to make it happen.

thing is, even when it gets to playing man city, we're at home and theyre going to have nothing left to play for with a manager expecting to be sacked (if hes not already)

keep our form up, make the most of this rest before stoke and who knows

The reason why we shouldnt think of fourth is because getting disappointed should we not get it would be doing this season a huge disfavor.

You have a tendency to spout some shit, but this is on the money though the word 'think' would need to be replaced with something more concrete.

Whatever happens from here it has been an amazing season.

Was a poorly chosen word, granted - sometimes my vocabulary let me down a bit. We shouldnt get too excited more like. Its a mesmerizing thought but we should all relate to it with a bit of distance.

Our away form against the top ten isn't great. 1 point from 21. Goes to show how well we've done in games we should be winning (all the home games and away to the poorer teams) but its that extra bit of quality we'd need to show to take points away from Chelsea and Everton.

I would never have guessed our away form had been that bad against the top half. Truly does highlight the importance of winning games against the lesser lights and what it can do for a team's season.

Everton winning this weekend wouldn't be the end of the world for us. It'd likely give them a mid-week game the weekend before they play us, and they could well be clear of Liverpool by then - which is all they have to play for in the league really.

This is well and truly on now like regardless whether we want to think about it or not.

Would love Everton beaten so that Europa is secured first.

Obviously our run in is tough but momentum is definitely with us and this two week break will be a big help in clearing up niggles for us whilst other teams might pick them up.

As has been said, Pardew playing a blinder playing it all down.

Looking at the games to come, it's going to take a monumental f**k up from Arsenal or Spurs for us to get it. Yes, we're level on points with Spurs and only a couple behind Arsenal (5 if they win the game in hand) but their respective run-ins shouldn't cause them enough grief for us to be a concern:

Arsenal

Wolves (A)

Wigan (H)

Chelsea (H)

Stoke (A)

Norwich (H)

WBA (A)

Spurs

QPR (A)

Blackburn (H)

Bolton (A)

Villa (A)

Fulham (H)

Yes I know Spurs tripped up yesterday but we can't expect that to be the norm over the next 5 weeks. Chelsea on the other hand have a nightmare run-in and are most certainly there for the taking.

The ironic fact that many in press are overlooking is that we could finish 4th this season yet not qualify for the CL. UEFA have confimed that if Chelsea finish outside the top 4 and win the CL, they'll be in the competition next season at the expense of the club who finishes 4th.

Now THAT would be hard to stomach!

We're second on form and that momentum counts for a lot.

Arsenal are third on that score so no great reason to think they'll trip up. Spurs are 16th though, and whether it's down to the England speculation or summat else, one win in 6 (from mediocre teams - Norwich, Swansea, Sunderland, Chelsea, Stoke and Everton) is cause for great optimism imo.
