The Road To Amsterdam ArenA (UEFA Europa League 2013) - THE END

Recommended Posts

They had some good results getting there. Avoided another trip to Russia and I'm sure fans making the trip will be delighted with it.

Can't say i know much about Benfica and their team right now so no idea if thats a good draw or not. Glad we are away first off though as I always feel playing at home on the return leg is an advantage.

They're flying.

Top the league over Porto and Braga. Beat Bordeaux in both games of the last round.

If we can get past Anji, we can get past Benfica. No tie at this stage is easy and a full strength Newcastle are a test for any team as they will be for us. I don't believe we will get humiliated and I'm going to join Team Positive and say we can win this competition.

65k capacity - what's the allocation percentage rules etc ?

14.05 All clubs in the competition must make at least 5% of the total capacity of their

stadium available exclusively to visiting supporters, in a segregated, safe

area. In addition, visiting clubs are entitled to purchase up to 200 top-category

tickets (unless otherwise agreed between the two clubs in question) for their

VIP supporters, sponsors, etc. (see Articles 16 and 23 of the UEFA Stadium

Infrastructure Regulations and Article 19 of the UEFA Safety and Security

Regulations).

14.06 Visiting clubs which have requested an allocation of tickets for the whole or

part of the segregated area may return any unused tickets to the home club

without payment up to seven days prior to the match, unless otherwise agreed 23 23

by the two clubs in writing. After this deadline the visiting club must pay for the

whole allocation, irrespective of whether all the tickets have been sold.

14.07 The home club may reallocate tickets returned or not requested by the visiting

club provided that all safety and security measures (as mentioned in these

regulations and in the UEFA Safety and Security Regulations) are respected

and that such tickets are not reallocated to supporters of the visiting club.

14.08 The official UEFA representatives and at least 20 representatives of the

visiting club and its association must be provided with top-category seats (and

associated hospitality) in the VIP sector.

Garay, Gaitan, Cardozo, Rodrigo, Luisao, C.Martins, Aimar, Pereira, Salvio, Kardec...fuckin hell. They got a massive squad size aswell, and they beat Bordeaux with mainly their reserve team.

Still hasnt sank in. Only three more teams to beat and we have a cup after a 44 year wait. Just three more. We can do it. Lets go out there for this next game with no fear and really get at them .

We've been here a few times in the recent past, let's not get carried away.

I think apart from Barcelona and Juventus, Benfica are probably the biggest club we've ever played in Europe. They have more members than any club on earth, incredible history, incredible players, it's a dream draw, we're outsiders but we can do it.

Just staying positive. If boro and fulham can have such good runs, why cant we. Just need pardew to fire the players up before each game, so that they know what a trophy would mean to the fans.
