Hopefully everyone backs down since it looks like America achieved what they wanted. It's more the West I'm concerned about at this point, we've shown time and time again how untrustworthy and cynical we are - many lives in Trump's hands. They hit a hospital a few days back. Iranian strikes already killed 24 Israelis and injured many more. It’s something they are used to. My family have all cowered in shelters over the years at various times. Air raid sirens are common in Israel, particularly in Haifa in the north, which has been targeted by Hezbollah rockets, and the desert area east of Gaza, where Hamas used to fire its rockets into. I have family in both areas. You’re right that Iran will suffer far greater casualties. They don’t have an iron dome defence system and Israel took out a lot of its antiaircraft defences. Rayvin 6688 Posted yesterday at 20:38 Share Posted yesterday at 20:38 I'm aware of the Israeli casualties, I resent the entire situation for civilians on both sides - consequently I watch the damage on both sides. I just mean Israel have announced they've knocked out all 99% of all long range missiles within the last day or so, meaning they should be approaching some semblance of safety. More importantly Trump has decided to overlook Iran's counterattack and is walking towards peace - so it seems DJT is the great peacemaker of our time, a shining beacon of Western civilisation's values as he disarms a rogue state of religious fanatics with aspirations of genocide of their nuclear weapons, seemingly calming their fanaticism at the same time. By the metric we're judging this situation on, it's a huge win for him.

Absolute loose cannon. Who knows what he’s going to do or say next? Rayvin 6688
Aye but on this occasion he might actually be about to end this without further drama, so I'm all for it.
Rayvin 6688
It's a weird one though given that they're unlikely to have done any real damage to Iran's nuclear program, and that Israel was calling for regime change and Khamenei's death. What was the point in any of it?

Rayvin 6688
Possibly so. Also sort of makes Trump look good I guess. Maybe it really is that simple.

Dazzler 13104
In the least shocking turn of events of this year so far the ceasefire is over before it began. Iran have launched another missile (according to Israel) and now Israel are calling for powerful retaliation. The world's greatest peacekeeper failing to keep the peace. Again. Dazzler 13104
Trump trying the patented: "I swear to fucking Christ if you two little cunts don't knock it off I'll turn the car around and you won't get to go to Disneyland." If it doesn't work with children then it's never going to work with two maniacs.

Rayvin 6688
Trump has just called out Israel and accused both sides of 'not knowing what the fuck they want' Dare I say it, he does seem to be trying for peace here. I can see why it's not in Israel's interests, but clearly it is in US and Iranian interests.

The language and postering in politics is pretty much unbelievable these days, especially in the US. Rayvin 6688
US intel suggests all 3 nuclear sites are largely intact, and that any delay posed to Iran's development in this field is measured in months rather than years. Well worth it, I'm sure.
