you got to wonder why they were able to get a bloke on the moon in 69, but despite advances we're still no where near having a moon...base..thing? nigh on fourty years later

;)

The reason why there's no moonbase is that isn't much point. Would you want to live there?

Apollo 13 is the only good thing Ron Howard's done since Happy Days btw.

And as for me - Buffalo Soldiers, really entertaining if a little far fetched. And another great performance from Joaquain Phoenix. Which cockend said he was rubbish again? Brock? Idiot.

I might like to live on the moon... although I doubt I'd be eligible for a place... not being a science whiz or owt

It's cost more than anything that stopped missions to the moon. Its a case of been-there-done-that now.

Has anyone seen Nacho Libre yet, new Jack Black thing?

The Business

Despite being handicapped by the cretinous Danny Dyer, I quite enjoyed it, although the irritating Mockney accents pissed me off, it was quite good, very 80's, lots of dodgy clothes and music.

Some good humour, but very violent, and over usage of the cnut word, and some rather OTT violence against women.

'Waking The Dead' - an unusual take on the old tale of a doomed love story with Jennifer Connelly playing a political activist and Billy Cruddup playing an ambitious mainstream politician. I enjoyed it although I thought the ambiguous ending was a bit of a cop-out.

Love, Honour and Obey

Written by the people who wrote Operation Good Guys, fucking hilarious ;)

176620[/snapback]

Seen that like :) It veers from the sublime (i.e. some hilarious one-liners and some of the scenes in general) to the ridiculous (e.g. the shoot-out scene between the rival gangs). I thought it was dead funny but I think it was a lot funnier than it was meant to be. How funny is the bloke who plays Mark in Good Guys when he's being the wedding planner?

The way he suddenly gets into the role and suddenly turns camp is hilarious. :(

One of my favourite scenes is when they're trying to get that £500 of the fella in the car and Bill Zeebub's character is smacking the window which doesn't break :P

"He'll keep hitting it until it breaks.........he'll keep hitting it"

I watched Badlands last night.

Quite enjoyable and Martin Sheen played a very charismatic Kit.

I'd recommend it for Sunday afternoon relax in front of the screen time.

Agreed, its an under-rated gem of a movie, I loved the scene when they were dressed as Arabs with Viagra.

Superb film.

Watched 'Jarhead' which I thought was canny good. It's basically about a platoon of Marines who go through their training before going out to 'fight' in the first Gulf War. It's really about how they try and cope with the boredom, anxieties about who their lass is shagging, sexual tension and so on whilst slowing going (and driving each other) mental. Their actual 'war' (i.e. the ground war) lasts about 4 days even though they are in the desert for months beforehand.

Edit: Caught the end of 'Escape from NY' too :D

The Lake House. Maybe I was just in a soppy mood but I really went for this, despite the obvious time travel paradoxes and the whiff of lunacy about the whole thing. Still not buying Keanu Reeves as a Proper Actor, but I was surprised at how many facial expressions Sandra Bullock can do. Beautifully filmed an' arl.
