Only caught about ten minutes of this the other night, but have to mention: A Steven Seagal film (don't know the title, it's a recent one)

Basically, he's a renowned archaeologist and he's on some excavation with a hot asian chick and there's a sinister looking asian bloke stamping on the artifacts. Seagal reckons they should get out of there sharpish and a prolonged car chase ensues, during which the hot Asian chick is shot dead, but Seagal crosses the border and escapes.

It is one of the worst bits of film I've ever seen in my life. The voices are all dubbed on and it looks like they didn't shoot the bits where the characters say the lines, so you have repeated shots of the backs of Seagal's head as he mumbles incoherently through his hackneyed dialogue. Then there was footage in the car chase which was reused extensively, especially a reaction shot of Seagal pulling a face with some dialogue dubbed on top which didn't match whatsoever. Fuck me. This guy's films have grossed over $1 billion world wide: outrageous.

Second only to David Lean in my book.

127hours - Good for a film that is essentially filmed on the same spot for 90 minutes. What sets it apart from shite like Phone Booth and Buried though is the fact its a true story. I thought some of it must have been exaggerated and read up on it when I got home but it all happened exactly like it did in the film. Legend of a bloke imo

Strong stomach needed for the end too

Going to watch it this weekend too, Gemmill.

Couple of mixed reviews. Reynolds is dreamy though.

He's not a patch on his old man, Burt.
